the obvious one is "spear of destiny"

That's not how it reads to me. See section 41 - seems to be part original transfer fee, part old & new wages (bonuses are tricky and subject to negotiation), and part "sports related damage caused to the club, blah, blah, blah" which could amount to anything really. Not sure we're officially allowed to do that though, otherwise it could be seen as if we were inducing him to leave in the first place? there has already been a precedent (2 actually) so have a look and see what happened then.

and michael owen signed in between luque and the deadline i think. making luque the 3rd last player to swap the spanish sun for tyneside.
-
rumour has it he's only signed for us to be closer to his beloved spurs.

People (press) turned on us when we played Stevenage Borough in the FA Cup. We offered the game to be played at St James's Park with all match proceeds (minus overheads) to go to Stevenage. Their Manager refused and called us a big bullying club with no respect for the lower divisions or grounds, then the press turned the whole thing into a mass debarcle and made us look like complete arseholes. Although, these days when it happens absolutely F All is said by any manager or the press. So much for being kind! stevenage actually agreed to play the game up here till it was to be put on live tele and the cash that would bring in.

Personally, I can't believe you couldn't put a comma after "Personally".

You know that the only bits of him in the Argy video are the cross, him giving away a free kick, and him kissing the goalscorer? All the good bits were other players and he wasn't involved at all in those particular sequences. That cross was quality though-Owen will thrive on service like that,as it seems Guiza did last season. Said that same thing when I saw him whip the cross in. It'll be nice to have a pacy winger looking to make the pass. Instead of a s*** winger,Duff, looking to take the piss.(Out of us) i like his two-footedness (from the small clips i saw) but i'm scared by the idea of a winger just whipping balls in. it's why gillespie got found out easier than ginola I think any winger, worth his salt, would expect a decent striker to be near post in that situation Mads.Time and again we've seen Owen and Shearer, over the years, profit from darting near post runs. owen does it all the time but too often we dont have someone following in (the perfact example was manutd with beckham wide, not even looking up but knowing he'd have sheringham/cole splitting front post/in behind). i just don't like the idea of just trying to hit the byline and hit someones head all the time. it seems to many on here think the ferdiand-ginola-gillespie axis would work aswell today.

if joey barton was a shelf stacker in tescos you'd say "tough f***ing s*** for being an arse...you don't deserve yet another chance...how the hell d'you get away with a suspended sentence scum thug" If barton was a shelf stacker he wouldn't have got the aggro he gets out on the piss for being famous. Especially in Liverpool, especially since his half bro killed someone. he'll get that all the time...how many chances does he get. my opinion is he's a bloke who wants to do the right thing,he's great with the kids and charities etc but has such a low set off point that in my experience,he'll find it very hard to change,if not impossible till he has more to lose. I think being in jail is enough, i hope its enough, for eveyone's sake. He's not wanting to be a career criminal, so he will want to avoid going back there for the rest of his life. The club will have him curfewed to death, thats not including being tagged for a couple of years no doubt. He'll be attending the sporting chance clinic, as well as anger management, he's going to get every last bit of support and help you could possibly get, if that isn't enough then yeah, there really is no saving him. But i think we should offer him that chance, if he's willing to take a pay cut showing his willingness, even if its not half, its symbolic enough for me to say OK, you've got one last chance, do it. hope you are right.....i;m not holding my breath I can totally understand why, as I can also understand why people have had enough and are ready to turn their backs on him. He's only himself to blame, lets hope he knows that, realises it, and decides it will not happen again. For me he was very good in our winning run, a full season of that would be a great start, but i reckon he's got even more than that in him to give, and the way he restrained himself (because he's become a target to wind up) but still applied himself was nothing short of excellent too. I'd be quite annoyed if the club bow down to the media pressure to sack him now, i personally don't think they will, even if its to get him back on tract and sell him this time next year, if he stays out of trouble and maintains form, he'll fetch a good price. i don't think he was very good....just much better than earlier on and i know he is better than that but considering he was already on an assault charge after previous aswell the liverpool city centre thing was a final straw for me.

You just want rid of me. that obvious eh ? in all serios though, a blindingly bwwwilliant idea if the gers would fall for it.

Aye, but not as stupid as what you've just written there. He was out of the piss in Liverpool, and I seem to recall he'd been told by Allardyce not to do that, but he'd ignored the boss and decided to indulge in binge drinking (the sign of a true professional that, you have to say...) and then he loses control of himself and has a go at someone who noised him up in the street. It's also particularly delightful to see the scum he's hanging around with joining in the battering. Truly sickening when you think this lowlife is earning more in a week than most people on here will do in a couple of years. But...oh noes...he's our best player. Is he f***! He constantly flatters to deceive (sorry but that point has been made in this thread countless times so I won't guild the lily there) - he's not worth the pay, he's been given countless numbers of "second chances" and he brings shame upon the name of the club and the game. I'm all for packing him off to Rangers in a 2 for 1 deal myself - him and Smith for Cuellar. Let the pair of those rotten, good for nothing arses play for a team supported by monkeys of a similar calibre. now and again on here you get a pure blinding flash of brilliant light thinking. GM if you want to go out on a high (unlikely i know) you ought to consider deleting your account after that. go out on the highest of highs dude.

That was my initial response after seeing what he did with my own eyes, but now I think I just won't applaud him. been there with bowyer in a way. i can't chant his name but will give it "go on"s when he is attacking (can't help it). i'll be objective about his performances like i always am about them all.

It's when you jizz in your hands and throw it at your lass. I thought that was called "Seagulling" I'm just passing on what I've learned today. seagulling is splatting jizm onto someones head............spidermanning is throwing it in their face.

He wears a spiderman mask when he scores. Yes. I kinda got that James, thanks. I refer you to my original question... would it be when you do a spiderman but with shit ?

"errr chris, could you pop back up north for a week or two" The deal wouldn't look so good if those become the numbers we have to start thinking about. Sure we must have checked all avenues first mind. i alluded to it in post 128 on page 6.

Amazing how they all knew nothing of the transfer this morning, but within about 12-15 hours they know what he's taking home each week he's at NUFC now,it'll be "who" he's taking home each week not "what" Depends really Madras. As if he goes down the Bigg Market it's definitely more of a what than a who. very good point
