We wouldn't have been relegated or been close to it this season. There are too many hopeless sides below us. We're 11th ffs!! People don't need the to create a spectre of relegation to justify this and if they do then it shows we are collectively grasping at straws to make ourselves feel better at what we clearly see as fundamental failure of judgement. Part of the longer term problem now will be is that it is clear that that the role of the owner is too blurred with the safety net of an independant thinking chairman. Regardless of how Redknapp performs I see no due dilligence in this. i feel we'd have been a lot closer to relegation than you think

the clamouring for an international class manager, while it would be nice may be beyobd us. i have posted recently that the likes of mourinho would come if the conditions were right (wages and a big enough transfer kitty). i have no doubt we would pay top wages but it looks like we may not be getting the abramovic size spending we had hoped for, though probably still more than the previous regime (thats for you NE5). the question we should be asking is who is the best that we could get on those terms ? as for redkanpp, if true, yes i'd deffo have him instead of allardyce
-
i'm guessing any new manager would recieve financial backing not available to the others
-
oh and for the record i'm still not convinced Redknapp will be appointed
-
Allardyce may well have still been there with backing but it's not to be. Redknapp is likely to recieve more backing so is likely to make more of a go of it.

IF our new manager turns out to be Harry Redknapp we must get behind him and the club. Give them a chance and hope (with funding) they make a good go of it. We may not agree with it but we rarely do and a fractious atmosphere round the place is not going to improve things. Nothing would be worse for the future of NUFC than trying to get rid of Redknapp before he has had a chance (and yes i do believe Allardyce had enough of a chance). Who knows what Redknapp can achieve with backing ? I know this could be said of the previous but that wasn't going to happen and the rights and wrongs of it will only get in the way now. Are we Newcastle UNITED ? or are we going to continue letting ourselves be a spectacle for the medias ridicule ? HOWAY THE LADS !
-
I love the way he manages to get the exact opposite out of what he's been told. At least this explains all of the Martins rumours last summer. Mort/Allardyce: "Martins is not for sale" AO: "Reading between the lines Martins will be sold" what it means is those in the nationals are reporting it so alan believes it even though as he says he has no evidence.

to those criticising this thread, read it....read it from the start. i statarted it as a joke, a parody which one or two understood while others were too dim or blind to see. some of those folk think chris morris does news shows

LEE CLARK OUT! gone..............and the idea of frank danquah (?) as his replacement never thrilled me
-
and a sane billionaire owner would have picked us ? howay ?
-
it's a ride, strap yourself and go for it. in the long dark history of NUFC this isn't a bad time.

We're supposed to know our place. Personally i think Tottenham and Newcastle generally have attitudes to be admired, both have proper ambition, and that's what sport is about. I hate these people that are happy with mediocrity. This hits nail on head - I also hate acceptance of mediocrity, disguised as 'support the lads, you fickle ba------s !' agreed to a point but there also has to be loyalty in the face of adversity

-
my guess is about 70%of the fans are asleep
-
someone was going to and i just wanted to be first
-
now now NE5, we dont know if AO was telling the truth do we? In actual fact, I think that someone who has his teams playing with intelligence, movement and a positive outlook, has a chance. He might surprise us. But having sacked Sam, I hoped for better. What i will be looking for is - how much they back him. That and that alone will tell me what sort of future we will have while they own the club. i agree 100%
-
grassroots called,he wants his blind optimism and humour back....he reckons you had it and lost it coach
-
if true i wonder how much he'll be backed in the market in this window and the summer
-
so really he got the boot for the same reason practically ever other manager gets fired for
-
aye
-
they're all (with the possible exception of taylor, given and harper) only here for the money

at what ? i don't understand you..you championed allardyce, wanted him to stay but see redknapp as a sideward step (though with a better style of football) you fell for the oliver story and built your own hopes up. looks like olivers made fools out of a lot of people this week. good work al
