  1. thought both defences(defending as a team)were similar,they had a cutting edge
  2. (put up with whatever is dished up in front of you)
  3. i mean "instead" of allardyce but leaving us time to find a fulltime appointment. yeah sorry, haha. It dawned on me after I'd posted. So in effect, a caretaker? The only qualm I'd have about that is that the interim manager does well, drags us up the league and performances improve, so we decide to appoint him full-time. Then we think "oh goody" and he's appointed as full-time manager. However in his first full season, he begins to lose it. He makes poor signings, some of which are panic signings on deadline day and we're back to square one in terms of what we're seeing on the pitch. I think this happened not so long ago somewhere.... thats why i mentioned keegan and venables who would probably prefer a job upstairs in the summer
  4. reckon he'd probably want it full tiime.....good pun link mind
  5. go for a good long term appointment
  6. i mean "instead" of allardyce but leaving us time to find a fulltime appointment.
  7. acording to tonights setanta sports news mort has said we will be active in ther january window and he expects to sstregthen the squad by a couple......dont know if that includes tozer. apols if already posted
  8. shearer would never take the post as an interim and right now i thik thats what we need
  9. listening to a few different groups in the pub (before and after), most think now is a bad time to be attracting a new manager but want rid of allardyce,so an interim could seem an option ? i did nose in to others debates and various names came out of those who would possibly do it.......keegan.venables. the idea being that they dont want the long term job and would give us some time, experience and entertainment. even worth keeping on in some capacity at the club...proxy DOF to persuade players to come here. whilst not being pressure on the mangemebnt side as they dont really want that anymore. thoughts
  10. thats theoretical.......wheres the evidence to suggest he wont ? it's infront of you
  11. WIGAN ??.....DERBY OVER THE TWO GAMES. (capitals deliberate for effect)

sure you were there as it wasn't a shit performance (shit result i'll grant ya),not agreat performance but better then derby and birmingham, pompey and liverpool. at times tonight we played attacking football with plan and passion. we didn't get the result we deserved (a draw against a team with 1 away win this season).

    Titus Bramble

after he came on wasn't bramble probably our best palyer that night ? not that it wasn't right to let him go but maybe he took more stick than was deserved
  15. shearers shadow lurks over the club because the press tells you it does....in no other way does it.
  16. wrong teams forum to whinge about injuries after our last couple of seasons...even now allardyce's bolton had the fewest games missed through injury...can anyone think of someone who hasn't been out injured this season for us ?
  17. We didn't seem to get motivated at all against the most succesful team this country has ever produced. and it was a milners flukey cross that went in to rescue us
  18. happy new year macca 888 from the southern hemisphere......if thats the truculent oldish git from nufc.nu about 5 years ago. if not then...go on you can have that happy new year nayway
  19. It may not matter but they're the reasons I don't want him to bottle it. Fair enough. Personally I can't see why he would want to bottle it at this point tbh. He has a large ego, we know that. And the current pressure is f*** all in reality. The current pressure which basically boils down to massive over expectations from idiotic fans. I know a fella on another message board who has told me he wont back any manager and consider him a success if he doesnt deliever silverware in his first season. Thats the type of w****** and wanking expectations that put the club in this mess. Complete bollocks, nobody is that stupid, show me the post please... Either way people do not feel that way and people do not expect big things, so please stop with the s***. All people want is a manager with some sense and a pair of balls. All they want is to not start and end every single match with a sense of complete and utter hopelessness at the absoluter horror show that is a team managed by Sam Allardyce. bet theres a woman or two that would do it and they wouldn't need the balls. what i mean is it doesn't take balls for allardyce to look and see whats happening....maybe he's let it go too long and to change now would be to be seen to give in to pressure, which would help no-one.

  21. thats one way of looking at it,another is "is the team playing (or has the team at any point under his management played)any better than it was 12 or 24 month ago ?"
  22. you will get time if it looks like you are improving things, when it looks like terminal decline you're out.
  23. my feeling that allardyce is on trial has not changed and he is only there as summer will be a better time to get a new manager.

The thing with Taarabt is that he's done the business on the little opportunities he's been given. Will not be shocked if he starts either against Villa or the fa cup game on saturday. d'you remember the name shaun murray ? at one time the mosrt sought after school boy footy baller in britain who spuds signed aged 15 (be about 1986-7ish)
  25. Shame we didn't get Anelka and Boa Morte tbh, could of got both for what we paid for Owen. Souness wanted both, or so the story goes. even more intriguing
