Old George.

Starting after the Brighton game. I'm sure NINE bar is shutting for a fortnight and reopening for the Palace game.
-
Yip, the big thing is, and this goes for a few of them, is this form permanent or temporary ?
-
Totally agree about the red mist and I posted similar earlier, don't get the immobile bit though, goes against what I've actually watched. He even looks to have more pace making it appear that it wasn't lack of pace but lack of defensive thought that let opposition players run off him.
-
I don't recognise the Shelvey I've seen play since just before Christmas from your post.
-
There was a little second or two bit on MotD when the players and staff came over to the Newcastle fans after the match today, he's not just smiling, he breaks into a chuckle, it goes beyond a smile. I remember doing that when Keegan was manager, I'd be in the ground and a passage of play would happen and I'd be giggling, we were that good. i think Eddie's realised where this could go.........and he still can't quite believe it.

Sorry, Ciaran. To be honest I struggle not to call him Clarke Carlisle for some reason.
-
We need a camera angle from the other side of the pitch to see that touch round the Brentford player on the way to setting up the 2nd goal, I need to see how deliberate/cute it was or did he miss control it but read the roll quicker.
-
Nice little snippet from Lineker on MotD "I'd actually like to hear his views on Putin's invasion as well, at some point, possibly"
-
You dont really get a chance to see it when watching the game but on MotD they had a little montage about Fraser and Joelinton, the Fraser bit, the link up with Wood was relly good and shows a little of what he's doing for the teams all round game. Add goals to it and we are all happy,
-
He's there on merit at the moment, paying very well and maybe benefitting from a more balamced team around him. My only worry with him is the rush of blood that leads to challenges like he did v Everton.
-
Hey, that was Kieran Clarke's finest moment, he obviously saw Joes midfield capabilities but they werent being utilised. "How do I force this ?" thinks Kieran, "if I get sent off right now I bet they'll drop Joe into the middle...oh well, here goes" and he was right.
-
Same here, my river froze, then jumped and froze again literally on Dean reaching to his back pocket, then we have a free kick, I'm thinking someone must've said something but who ? I ended up with the radio match commentary on, SSN, a river and jumping i nto this place.......and women say men cant multi task!
-
Story goes they were preparing to loan him out till Clarke got sent off and Joe comes back into centre mid and becomes a monster.
-
Got to say, even under Rafa I didn't think Schar had enough defensive nouse to play in a 4. Very happy he's proving me wrong.
-
I've no problem when its done well, it can split the centre halves a little letting the full backs to push up a bit more. Also if the defending midfield follws in it creates a gap to be exploited or pullls that defence further up if your wanting to try and exploit space in behind them. I just think we've had years of wanting our defenders to get it forward and away from our goal as quickly as possible due to them not being good enough. Happily though we haven't been sucked into playing it out short all the time like Everton did against us and got caught out time after time doing it.
-
Next weekend brings up another set of games where a win could see us put more distance between us and that pack. Leeds at Leicester, Burnley home to Chelsea, Watford home to Arsenal, Everton away at Spurs. Would be nice if Brentford didn't get a win an Norwich either.
-
Pardew incoming please.
-
Amazed his leg isnt broken. Just rewatched the highligts and his shin bends so much in the tackle.
-
Rubbish defending from him on our 2nd goal. Hes a centre half, whats he doing out there ?
-
Expand the Gallowgate and for all the East stand is limited due to Leazes Terrace, I wonder if the current stand is the limit to what can happen there.
-
Anyone have an idea of the fans reaction to Zenit last night.
-
I was in the seats. We were dragging people up and stewards tried to stop us, good on them, when we pointed out the situation, the crush in that paddock they let us get on, one said he'd inform the police about how bad it looked.
-
Why not Shelvey in goal and Joelinton centre half ?
-
It's possible I suppose. I'd have to find a Lisbon pre match pub for "home" games
