He didn't turn up for work for a fucking month. Not sure how much more of a breach of contract you want? Try doing that at your workplace whilst ignoring all their attempts to contact you, then swan back in and see what happens. Whilst you might get away with it if you had a great record and they thought the sun shone out your arse before doing that, if they instead wanted you gone then believe me you'd be gone and even a phonecall to ACAS would only result in them laughing at you for being a fucking prat. Much though I hate to say it, I think sunderland are in the right here. Though clearly I still hope they get taken to the cleaners and sued for millions. I haven't seen his contract, but presumably there is no clause that says "if you don't turn up to training then you are sacked". If that was the case how come players do it all the time? You're comparing football to everyday work life and as has been proven a million fucking times it's nowhere near the same. Professional sports/normal employment have never and will never be the same, its a completely unique industry. How come players aren't sacked for refusing to play then? If its the same? Not quite. Clubs would be loath to sack players because then they cease to be an asset and players would Just take to not turning up in order to force a free move. In this circumstance I think the player has thought he'd easily get a move and suddenly found out nobody wants him, at least not on anywhere near the pay he was on there.

They gon get sued Hope they're actually in the right in this case. The pendulum of power has swung too far towards players.
  3. I'd say it was a pen because the trailing leg made it a tackle from behind.
  4. Custiss on Sky Sports could well prove to be pivotal . Others could well look at that and reckon there may well be a story in it and dig further.
  5. As much as I don't like him, it's a start. With Custiss this morning, it seems like the media are starting to realise there are questions to be asked. Only then will Ashley get rattled imo Edit...posted while having a crap in Mallorca.
  6. I'm shouting at the tele over Keys and Gray. Ive Only had 2 pints.
  7. Get in !. On hols and having to watch on bein sports meaning Keys and Gray.
  8. Classic early season Rafa. Puzzling selections and strange tactics.

    Paul Dummett

He's not a wing back by inclination but it's not because of his lack of pace, probably one of the quickest at the club and rarely gets done for pace.
  10. Similar to last season's start, unlucky loss at home to Spurs then a poor, disjointed performance away to a newly promoted team with Pawson being his usual self. Just wish we had West Ham next.

Don't think many refs would give a red for that tbh, refs generally let tackles go unless you go in with studs up It wasn't a tackle or even an attempt to tackle, it was just a kick out at a player. Aye I know. Just think players get away with those a lot more than ones with studs up Probably right. Wasn't there a similar tackle last season where the ref sent them off? Loved the suggestion on TFR that for those 'taking one for the team' tackles, that instead of a yellow card or being sent off, that they punish them with an enforced substitution of the player that does it. All fantastical obviously but I liked the thinking behind it. Thing is it wasn't like he pulled him back or clipped his heels, it was a kick out, as violent as Kenedys which will get a 3 match ban.

  13. I thought Hayden’s was harsh, more untidy than dangerous. From behind, late, high and reckless. It's a red.

Hope Rafa deadpan it with a "Brilliant refereeing performance, none better, can he referee us every week "
  15. No complaints with Hayden's sending off but I'll bet another 3 or 4 happen today and yellow will be given. Artur's was a red but it's Newcastle. Id like to hear the refs explanation as to why it wasnt a straight red.
  16. He could well point out that he has invested in NUFC., beyond the buyout and paying off debts, like he did with us, let's see if he invests. He could but he'd be telling lies and half truths. The debt was there and had to be paid because he didn't do due diligence, the further investment was as a result of the two relegations that he and he alone caused. I Agree with all that.... but it has nowt to do with the purchase of HoF and that in relation to NUFC investment. Well again, I disagree, I just don't think I'm disagreeing for the reason you think I am. I get the impression that you think it's about saving funds by not spending anything on NUFC so they can be spent on HoF. When the point I'm making is that it's about him investing in one area and not another when he could invest in both and more. No not at all. I just think it's another compant he's added to his portfolio which he'll run in exactly the same way all his other companies.
  17. He's paid a purchase price and paid of debts on both, has he invested further in HoF ? Strictly speaking he has invested more in us because the debt, owed to him, has gone up hasn't it even though it was his own fault.

  19. He could well point out that he has invested in NUFC. As for HoF beyond the buyout and paying off debts, like he did with us, let's see if he invests.

  21. Are they hell. Linking the club's incoming funds with Ashley's buyout, definitely. But there's a clear and obvious link between the club's lack of spending and Ashley's investment elsewhere. Got to disagree. It's his desire to reach the aim (staying in the prem while spending as little as possible). Do you really think if the HoF deal wasn't in the offing NUFC would have spent more ? No I don't, but that's irrelevant to the point that he invests in other areas but not in NUFC. It doesn't make anyone look thick at all, it's the reality of the situation. Of course it does when many on social media are spouting that that's where our transfer kitty has gone. There's no link between our spending and the HoF buyout.
  22. There's a few reasons he won't walk, if that6million clause is true that'll play a part. His honour and not walking on contracts, his hope that a buyout does come along ( wonder if he is in touch still as it seems like he was early before any media last time round). It'll be a mix of things rather than one reason.

This. NUFC's transfer business does not affect whether Sports Direct acquire House of Fraser ffs. They're not all little pots of money that Ashley moves around as he sees fit Most people know this but its an emotional thing to find something else to have a go at Ashley, and my god theres a lot, but keep it factual or we look daft. Sing somerhing better, more questioning than get out of club you fat cockney bastard, then the medi may listen and ask it themselves. We all saw how Ashley doesnt like being questioned.
