Spot on there. He was awful in the relegation season and didn't look capable of adapting at all. He wasn't awful at all. He was horribly exposed by the Kev and Nicky masterclass going on in the centre of the park in front of him every week. Oooooh the halo effect.
-
don't need to. he was poor but has come very good. I see no reson to change any of that opinion.
-
I shouldn't laugh given my typo's but Mcgath has made me giggle. could maybe bring in franz buckybauer and uli haggis.
-
Exactly the same as me. Just few people around me shouting directly at him. You would have had pockets of them idiots scattered about. Certainly no chanting. even then saying directly at him, that was from the gallowgate middle tier so I'm not sure he'd have heard, nor if they'd have shouted had he been 10ft away. sometimes people have big gobs when the target can't hear!. can't say they were idiots for it, it's what I was thinking. (him being past it, not the abuse) Yeah when i said directly don't mean he could actually hear what was being yelled. I wanted Robson sacked as well, the vast majority did at the time but when i say it's idiots i mean the ones going further than just shouting 'f*** off, you're s***' etc. not at all sure the majority wanted him sacked or pushed upstairs or whatever. I think he had the majority behind him even on the day he got the boot.

I was there and there was certainly no chanting. 2 or 3 individuals shouting that he'd lost it but hardly a chant.

it's ashley thinking he can turn a quick substantial profit and also put get some leverage on another business. he doesn't do that with us because the chance of the quick substantial profit is much less.
-
hardly a "bet". it's a derivitive trade, thats like saying playing the stock market is just betting. also if you read the article there is far more to it then meets the eye with business power bases being established etc.
-
what was the bet ? and that is still a lot less then over £200million.
-
like most people the higher the price you pay the safer you want it to be. I don't mind putting a 12 team accumulator on for £2 but if I'm betting £100 it'll be a short price straight bet, no multiples.
-
because it's a strange startegy, put in over 200million and take out in drips and drabs, years before break even and more before any realistic profit. I'm sure there are many ways of investing that sort of cash with better and safer returns. you said earlier that the 60mill tv money would just inflate the asking price by that much, I don't see it that way, outgoings will increase and to just add 60mill on to what he paid is to forgot thats 60mill added on to what had polygon and belgravia walking away.
-
do you think if he took the TV money and held out for what he paid he'd find a buyer ? fwiw I believe if he'd been offered an even break deal he'd have took it any time since that Hull game. Yeah I do. I don't think thats too controversial either, all you'd need is someone predicting growth in the premier league. got to disagree, while there will be growth it will be more than equalled by growth in outgoings.

I always take these "lose this game and he's gone" stories with a bucket of salt, he may well get the boot should we lose but it's not like should we win against villa and lose the next 5 then he's safe.
-
if he takes the TV money he'll stay here as no one will buy without that money still being in the pot. tit for tat no? Would always be accounted for in the sale price. not really. he'll want what he's paid out so far or are you saying he'll take the TV money as part of what he's owed ?
-
not sure there'd be mank takers at that price.

not even so much as a 1980's defender but a 1980's defender who's been out of the game since then. it's not even like he really stayed in the game in any capacity (coaching/scouting etc) after retiring from playing.
-
apparently it's a 4 game ban (for his 3rd red card) and misses the wembley trip. anyone confirm ?
-
got to love MotD, "next coming up Sunderland, but first heres a game I done on the phone of some kids playing headers and volleys in the front street"
-
Why would we want to do that when we've only conceded 11 goals in the 6 games since he came back into the side? Jesus christ. What a hideous statistic, I'm fairly confident he will have been at fault for at least 8 of that 11. He's our worst centre back. can't remember many he's been directly responsible for, however williamson/MYM wasn't too bad when they had a run together and MYM does look better when he's settled in the team as opposed to odd games or half hours here and there. also MYM is a much better bet for the future.

It's not a pean from a sooperfan Yorkie, but when arseholes attempt to belittle or demean the current situation then it needs redressed. by saying we deserve to get beat ?
-
and it's a fair point. I don't think they don't care though, I think it's more that they've got good deals before and think they can do it all the time.
-
keegan, robson, even 90mins unde dalglish, no silverware but good stuff.

Please go away, thanks. Come back when you've supported this club through thick and thin, tit. Is this you supporting through thick and thin then? Sober the f*** up. I'll still be there tomorrow supporting just like in April 92 against Portsmouth unlike you, you fairweather chisel. what support will you give when you think we deserve to get beat before kick off ? I was there in 92, many on here werent old enough, does that make them crap supporters ?
