  1. I will never forget One Size rocking up and being bloody good. Nor should you.
  2. The last incoming signing that made me genuinely annoyed was Amady Faye. I reckon Gibson would top that
  3. Gibson is anything but a steely midfielder. He can barely tackle.
  4. At Sunderland. They love their average midfielders. Hand on heart I was speaking to the Birmingham fan (I say 'the' because I only know of one in real life) today and quizzed him over the Gardner deal and he said that he was baffled as to what Bruce is playing at. Gardner is basically a slightly more downmarket version of Gibson - both of them wallop the ball towards the goal if they get the slightest chance and break down loads of attacking moves doing so. He said he feared for Gyan next season because he'll never see the ball if they're going to play a midfield of both Gibson and Gardener Then again he did say he thought Gardner would be a good addition to our team because he does Nolan's job ("Scores goals and...well, he scores goals" were his words). I think Bruce is a bit simple tbh. Annoyed that his midfielders have done nothing all season he's gone and bought the two midfielders in the league he can afford that can shoot/score goals. Simplistic solution that doesn't take into consider that they are both utterly average players. For my money Meyler is their best midfielder and he's more or less ruined him by rushing him back from a very serious injury twice in 12 months. I kna someone (Look at me, I'm the new cwarr07!) who works at the club and has said it's fairly common knowledge Bruce fell out with and then sacked Sunderland's head physio because he stood up to the lesbian looking wanker and told him he was rushing players back from injury. He whinges about their crocks but they're almost all his own doing. God forbid the Mackems get a manager who is semi-capable. Imagine if Short was backing someone like Martin O'Neill? Agree with the sentiment, but O'Neill for his virtues pisses away more money than sense He spends money like it's going out of fashion, but he cultivates a decent team with it. With the hundreds of millions wasted on Keane and Bruce, O'Neill could've put together a side with European ambitions, with the odd reserve player on £70,000 a week. Aye fair point like. If the current deals go through as rumoured (Garnder, 3 Man U players, Korean guy) Bruce will have spaffed the Henderson money away. All it would take for him then would be to spend whatever he had left on N'Gog and Roger Johnson. Speaking of which the same bloke who told me about Bruce sacking the physio says the Korean lad has been bought for no other reason than to give Sunderland a platform to break into the Asian market. It wasn't actually a footballing decision, so much so that Bruce didn't speak to the player or his agent - it was all done via Ellis Short and one of his lawyers who was sent out to Korea last week to tie up the deal when other clubs began to show an interest.
  5. I love the idea Pardew has to screen his phonecalls in case it's someone from another football team

  8. I reckon Huw Jenkins went all Lionel Hutz on us when we pointed out his release clause was set at £1 million. "Oh, they got this all screwed up." http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l3fe8ticpl1qzt9gno1_500.jpg

  10. He's fucking woeful, man Over the years there have been a lot of players at Man United who get labelled as shite when they're not simply because of the players around them - Nicky Butt, Phil Neville, Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick, John O'Shea etc. but Darron Gibson is genuinely shocking. I really couldn't cope if I had to watch that daft twat spank the ball into row Z five or six times every game.
  11. I really don't rate Gardner. Spanks them in from 30 yards every now and again but really doesn't do much else so I'm fairly glad we dodged that bullet.
  12. http://www.nufcblog.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Ben-Arfa-stretcher.jpg "Thanks Nigel!" (I do get what you mean btw) What a player. Most players when they suffer even a moderate injury would just cover their face on the way out. HBA somehow decided to wave to the fans after a double leg break, that takes character, I have a feeling that unless he gets a crazy offer from the likes Barcelona, Madrid or Man Utd, he will be with us for a good few years. Actually, i over looked thefact that he waved to the fans while he was probably in a lot of pain with a broken leg on a stretcher. That was a realtouch of class, imo. Or maybe it was just the Oxygen high. Can't wait for next season purely to see HBA on the pitch again. Or maybe adrenalin. Or maybe he's just fucking nails?
  13. He was an old, idiotic man and just couldn't pronounce his name properly. I think Charles thought it meant that Kinnear wasn't showing him respect. He was probably right! I remember when he was publicly trying to sell Enrique . He did everything in public. He'd have a shit out in the open if anyone would let him. When Carroll decked N'Zogbia he practically invited the press to come and watch round two while muttering "it wuz just 'andbags" over and over again.
  14. Location undoubtedly - not many would disagree. Considering it's a pretty good arena too with a better than average atmosphere it would definitely have a chance of being considered the "best". Didn't our extension cost more to build than their ground cost from scratch? Their ground cost £15m iirc To be fair to Bob Murray that's a cracking price, especially when you consider it was only marginally more expensive that the Riverside which is a genuinely awful flatpack monstrosity. Shame Berb ruined it by fussing over gold taps and borrowing an already shit name
  15. Was it Cabaye who said N'Zogbia talked up Newcastle and helped convince him to sign?
  16. Ryder has never been wrong lads. It's nailed on
  17. The "our stadium is better than your stadium" arguments are tedious as fuck. Facility wise they're on a par with one another. The only difference is that St James' Park is bigger and has a history behind it.
  18. Think it's fairly well documented that Newcastle can't compete with Sunderland either on fee or wages for N'Zogbia. Not sure why he would want to join a lower half PL club either when he will have offers from a top half club. http://static.tvfanatic.com/images/gallery/scott-tenorman-picture.jpg
  19. But you forget a central pairing of Tiote, Matuidi and Cabaye would be i-fucking-mmense.
  20. Depends how highly Ole Soderberg and Jak Alnwick are rated I suppose.
  21. I would be lovely to have him come back and act as able deputy to Krul for the next few years but realistically that's never going to happen. The Given/Harper situation came about because Harps lacked the ambition to look elsewhere when Shay had a stranglehold on the number 1 shirt. Forster has already made it pretty clear that he's not willing to sit on the bench because it doesn't benefit him or the club. Farming him out on loan yet again probably wont solve the situation because he's approaching an age where he'll want stability so he can focus on his game. I'd let him go permanantly if Celtic came back with an offer closer to £3 million.
  22. You mean a paddy with a Liverpool shirt, a blog and a Twitter account? It's all speculation as to why he chose us over them lot, although I wouldn't be surprised if the length of the contract came into it. We all know our constraints when it comes to finances and they haven't blinked when offering Carroll and Henderson stupid cash. I struggle to believe that they suddenly went all age of austerity on us and refused to match our offer.
