  1. You think Routledge has offered more than Jonas? Trying to pick who has been best out of Jonas and Routledge is a bit daft after two games. Routledge has a decent final ball but his decision making isn't up to scratch and Jonas doesn't have a good end product. Both were poor against Man United, both were much better against Villa. I personally don't think Hughton will drop either, their pace gives us something extra and the understanding particularly between Jonas and Enrique is not something you want to break up. Ben Arfa will play in the middle, whether that be as a second striker off Carroll or as the attacking outlet in a midfield four.
  2. He'll not play on the wing, he'll play through the middle.
  3. shocking http://4gifs.com/gallery/d/167350-1/Soccer_sportscaster_incoming.gif The delayed reaction of the bloke
  4. Probably the twist that he's shite.
  5. Nothing will ever be like that night he flew in. I had to tell my girlfriend about the whole saga because I was sitting in my pub checking my phone every five minutes
  6. John Hogg Funerals could work?
  7. If this happens, and it's still a big if, this thread should remain top of the board until the end of time. Epic
  8. Is there not enough Sports Direct tack in the ground, like? It's fucking everywhere, we may as well have done away with sponsorship from other sources.
  9. Different times for different players. Took a month or two for the Mackems to get one for Angeleri and his Dad is Italian.
  10. Apparently Stretford is releasing a statement soon. Expect the wage demand rumours to be refuted.
  11. Surely that must be made up? They only transfer listed him about an hour ago. Course it is. They've looked at who needs homegrown players.
  12. That's the key question. Are the youngsters good enough if needs be? Coloccini is playing well at present but struggled under pressure last time. Williamson is a newcomer to the league, albeit with a promising start. Campbell may be too slow, injury prone and is clearly mentally unstable. Who's next in line if Taylor goes? Perch? Kadar looks a very good prospect.
  13. I really like the club statements. I've just got this image of Llambias kicking the doors of Craig Hope's office and shouting "Craig! Dictate! Newcastle United have today..."
  14. People have forgotten just how piss poor Colo was when we got relegated, at one point Taylor was the only player who was giving us a fighting chance against going down, Willo has been decent indeed but he's not by any means proved in the EPL, just because we've beaten Villa 6-0 dosn't mean their going to keep doing this all season, Sol Campbell is 35 and i still not match fit, so i'd pretty much rather have our one proven premier league center back than any of those 3. Taylor was just as culpable if not more so for a lot of the goals he and Coloccini conceeded. For example I can remember Colo getting a bollocking for a goal we let in against West Ham in our relegation season yet it was Taylor getting stupidly dragged out of position that was the reason Colo was left trying to mark two men. That was one of many. He's overrated and a bit of a knobber to boot. If he's not willing to accept £40k a week sell him and bring in Marc Wilson.
  15. We have players on wages higher than that, but all new players and new contracts will be 45K max (if you believe every report). I'd imagine, however, that if Colo or another high earner was to sign a new contract, he would get the same wage as he currently does. I read somewhere that 45k was a "loose ceiling". I don't think you can operate in the premier on a one size fits all policy. Yeah, I was under the impression we'd break it for someone outstanding but most transfers we would use 45k.
  16. Cahill, Campbell, Upson to name some more. I don't rate him at all really, I would still start him as our first choice right-back. IF this is just because he's being a cock and demanding double/triple what he's worth then fair enough, get rid of him, but if we're selling one of our first-choice defenders to fund new transfers then it's a recipe for disaster. It doesn't look that way, it looks like we're fed up with him and his agent.
  17. What? Say Terry and Ferdinhand retired now, who would be the first 2 defenders you would put in there?, I struggle to find many English defenders better then him. Jagielka and Dawson. They're streets ahead of Taylor.
  18. He's not even worth £40k. He can piss off.
  19. I don't even think he'll leave this transfer window. Who will waste a few million on a crocked, hugely injury prone defender who isn't very good? More than likely he'll end up fucking off for nowt next summer or next to nowt in January. I can see it being an N'Zogbia style scenario. Both fans and the player think he'll go to a big club but he'll end up at Stoke or something
  20. Fucking hell, can you imagine Ben Haim and Taylor at the back?
  21. Apparently he was refusing to allow the club to add a relegation clause to his contract. If that's the case good riddance. No great loss. Hugely overrated because he's young and English, for all his bluster and hand waving he is not a very good defender.
  22. The longer this goes on the more convinced I am he'll turn up at our gaff on deadline day. If anyone else was interested a deal would've been done now.
