  1. Sky were the first to mention Toite while the Mail were flicking themselves over Fer.
  2. I'd prefer Caicedo to RSC in all honesty. We'd get more games out of him and there's a lot of potential there to play with.
  3. The last high heard Tozer had been released and was on trial at Leyton Orient. Speaking of shite, is Zamblera still here? I saw him once or twice for the reserves and he couldn't trap a dead cat.
  4. Like...... Tiote, ooooooh ooooh, Tiote, ooooooooh ooooooooooh. He comes from Cote d'Ivore, He's better than Stevie G Tiote, ooooooh ooooh, Tiote, ooooooooh ooooooooooh. Couldn't be arse rhyming them? Sorry, is it not pronounced Ivory? Not if you say it in French.
  5. He's always been strong as an ox. His passing was much more suspect but along with Bassong he was our best player in the relegation season.
  6. He bought him, he had a nightmare against Liverpool (first Premier League start IIRC) and got dropped. Then Keegan came in and he turned out to be fucking immense.
  7. Probably Thursday/Friday I would imagine.
  8. Krul Raylor Perch Colo Tavernier Guthrie Smith Vuckic Xisco Ranger Lovenkrands
  9. One thing I find astonishing is that Carroll was probably the least hyped of our young strikers over the past decade. Shola, Chopra, Guy, Offiong, Zola etc. all argubaly had bigger reputations at reserve level than AC9.
  10. It used to be a very good website for patter in general rather than just petty name calling. It's been shit for some time now though.
  11. Its basically because the door is wide open for him. There doesn't appear to be another young centre forward of his type around. If he carries on like, there is absolutely no reason why he shouldnt be considered. Its down to him to seize the opportunity and I think Hughton's calm personality should be good for him. There's also the fact that Pearce bums the lad and has been in Capello's ear about him for a long time.
  12. After the first went in I was waiting for us to sit back and try to cling on. Same for the second and third. When the fourth went in it was clear Hughton had went a bit Keegan in the dressing room.
  13. fucking hell no. some people are blind and jump to conclusions. he made a nazi salute. just because people have pointed it out doesn't mean they're crying into their fictional copy of the daily mail. The problem with a nazi salute is that it's relatively easy to do one without realising. When I hailed a taxi after the match I could easily have been accused of showing my respect to the Reich.
  14. It's not political correctness, they're just fucking twats.
  15. Closer to £1m. Portsmouth paid £1m plus another £1m when he played, so we basically gave them their money back and took him off their wage bill.
  16. Surely Nazi salutes would offend Jews more than Germans? Avram Grant is so upset he's getting a happy ending with his massage this evening.
  17. It didn't look like a nazi salute to me, it looked like he pointed to his 'tache and waved to the bench. It's not even the right type of tache, for fucks sake If it was anyone other that Barton we wouldn't be having this discussion.
  18. Any improvement on Smith is one to get the party poppers and Moet out about.
  19. Toite is a fucking pretender at this moment in time. He'll never be as anonymous as Amady 'Midnight Chocolate' Faye.
  20. I'd be more worried if they rated him. They'll talk a decent NUFC signing down until the cows come home. EDIT: I feel the need to point out we haven't signed the cunt. It's a Daily Mail pipedream.
  21. Whatever? He used to kick around with Fat Fred's son. Don't know how reliable Colin is.
  22. You could do this with any player, chairman, manager, pundit or journalist in football though. It's bullshit to criticise Hughton for what he's been saying. He's in a no-win situation. Hughton is doing a very difficult job. He's been told not to talk about deals (probably on pain of death knowing Ashley), the club are extremely paranoid about the press and he's got to get on trying to placate the hacks, manage a football team and source potential signings on a budget of f*** all. Exactly, and no surprise that journos are having a go at him, the club has already stated they won't be giving anything away on transfers. That's understandable though. He's making their jobs harder so naturally they're gonna turn on him. To be fair I don't take Bird's statement as a sign they're turning on him. No but it does show a sense of frustration that they can't get any juicy information out of him. True, but I get the feeling they know why. The press are fully aware of Ashley's tendency to ban/threaten journalists for the most innocuous of things.
