  1. I agree to most of that, but is it now time to put the sheet back on the bed and get behind the club for the sake of the club? Their previous actions were always with the best intentions and the club at heart, but right now I think their efforts are best used supporting the club in full trying to have everyone pulling in the same direction. To be fair there's hardly been anything said by them that can be construed as counter productive for quite some time.
  2. wouldn't be so sure it's been hughtons management style as a spell inside and growing up a bit. He didn't seem particularly mature when he tried to kill Alonso and got into a fight with Shearer. I think giving the players a bit more power and responsibility has built an all for one and one for all attitude, players are more liable to feel like they're letting everyone down if they don't give 100% and keep their head.
  3. Hughton's management style will make a break him. It's helped Barton mature so hopefully it'll help him.
  4. My favourite memory of that match was the Mackem pitch invader. Ran on, threw his shirt and season ticket at Kevin Ball and as he was being dragged off Roeder extended a hand and he shook it
  5. 1. Bellamy's goal against Feyenoord in the CL. 2. Tino's goals against Barca in the CL. 3. 2-2 versus Inter (I have never been so proud of Newcastle United as I was that day. Played the fuckers off the park and would've won if it wasn't for the officials being homers). 4. 5-0 versus Man United. 5. Shearer's goal against Spurs in the FA Cup. Loads to mention, although I feel I must say the 6-0 against Villa has potential if these season turns out to be a good'un. Never in a million years did I think I'd see that when I rocked up on Sunday
  6. Spot on again mate. They've made some terrible mistakes but they're finally starting to make ammends, slowly but surely. I'm not saying forget the past, but it's getting a bit tedious constantly digging and criticising everything move that is made. We look like we're finally headed in the right direction and if we continue that way then I'm happy enough Ozzie made a good point the other day, that a certain section of our support are constantly looking for something to whinge about and blame Ashley/Llambias for. Surprised that someone reasonably level-headed like Dave still seems to have such a big axe to grind Bit of bollocks tbh. Fans wouldn't find something to whinge about if there wasn't something to whinge about in the first place. Anyone who thinks all the wrongs are righted because of promotion and some decent deals is mental. Anyone who thinks Ashley is justified in wrapping an iron fist around those in Level 7 because the singing section, his baby, is singing and doing things he doesn't like is a full blown spastic. Ashley is still conducting himself in a manner which shows no respect for the lifeblood of this club. The fans are fobbed off with daft statements, some are subjected to Orwellian scrutiny and the rest patronised to within an inch of their life by the streaking knobber Llambias. Ashley and Llambias have a lot to do right before I'll let them off with the occasional wrong.

  8. If we got a striker in before Tuesday I'd be over the moon. I could spend the day lolling around in my kimono wanking to porn rather than watching Jim White.
  9. I'd be interested to see how Ashley acted had we not been financially buggered but that is still no excusing the fact Ashley didn't spend when he really, really needed to and risk the very future of this club. Shepherd was a knowing cunt, Ashley was a naive cunt. Either way I still hate the cunts.
  10. You could say that about almost every positive post sincer then on here tbh. Bit of a stretch to call this thread merely 'positive' considering what has happened under this regime. It's bonkers. The relegation season alone should give people something to think about. He did everything wrong at the worst possible time, he's still capable of that. The biggest thing Ashley can do to help repair his reputation is sack Llambias. The man is a snotty, obnoxious cunt who should stick to running casinos. He's done nothing to connect with the fans which is a world a way from how Mort, who I know was equally as complicit in the dreaded DoF idea, did things. Communication is the buzz word and rightly so.
  11. No. I could forgive the effective sacking of Keegan pretty quickly if it was for the good of the club but it wasn't, we went down. To even get back on amicable terms with the fans he needs to establish us as a Premier League club and if he wants to really get in our good books a top 8 going on 6 club.
  12. I'm happy with that. Should've made more of our chances in the first half hour but I'd have taken a point before kick off. Wolves are a good team, we played well. Barton got the shite kicked out of him and just got up and got on. Roll on Blackpool.
  13. There is a Greggs in Bremen? Would be news to me... Greggs das Bakers, very popular over there.
  14. This thread needs to be saved for future generations.
  15. I don't know how he can say this without having definitive confirmation. We've heard nothing from that agent of his and if it was a done deal he'd be sure to tell the world? The club will have told him. Just because it isn't announced the minute the last I is dotted and T is crossed doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
  16. I've no problem with getting him in on loan for a year and shipping him out for a younger model next summer.
  17. You might be right. He did say when he went back that he'd spoke to Hughton and he'd offered him a central playmaker role, didn't he?
  18. I am now certain we're going to offer him about £20k p/w and he's going to fuck off
  19. I'd rather play Leon Best than Utaka. Seriously. Keane and Boyata would be amazing, especially on top of HBA and Tiote.
  20. To be fair announcing actual signings has never been high on our list of priorities. It took us about another week to tell everyone we'd secured a deal for Colo when he was at St James' watching games, training with the team and Ashley was sitting with his pissing name on the back
