  1. I don't have an issue with poor performance per se, you don't expect youngsters to come in and tear it up on a consistent basis, but I think complacency has set in amongst some of our kids. They seem too happy to have a bit part role and when they're given the chance to make a mark they just don't do it. They don't play like they want to start every game. The one thing young players need is hunger and I just don't see that amongst a lot of ours.
  2. Two centre backs and a centre mid to put pressure on Tiote and we'll have had a very good window.
  3. To be fair we've got quite a few young players who should be banging on the door and playing out of their skins when they get on the pitch, yet some of the performances when they've been called upon have been absolutely dire. You can blame lack of experience, match readiness etc. but that's no excuse for them looking disinterested. Bigi is the only 'youth' player who has really impressed me this year. The likes of Sammy, Fergie etc. simply haven't played well enough and considering they've been on the verge of the first team side for a 18 months plus now you can understand why Pardew's a bit fucked off.
  4. Daily Mail reporting we've agreed a fee Must be the third or fourth time we've agreed a fee for him in the past fortnight and the deal is still no closer to being done.
  5. Well thats what Pardew has been told by Derrick over the phone. In reality the goon is sat in his underwear lying on the couch with a bowl of crisps on his belly. Ashley: "who was that Derrick" Lambias: "Oh just Pardew asking about transfers, I told him we are working on some." Ashley: "Should we possibly do that?" Lambias: "Yeah, I will get to it, I'm watching tele" *reaches for the remote and stuffs crisps into his mouth. Scared me a little when Pardew said he had nothing to do with the transfers and was leaving it to lee and derek. Reminds of that thing Keegan said about having a meeting about a player and thinking everything was cool and they were going to bid for him only for the board to have another private meeting and plan to bid way lower than was agreed so that it would fail. who's Lee? Ryder. No. Yes. He's the mastermind behind our transfer policy.

  7. Two teams very low on confidence. Personally I'm just glad we picked up a point and kept a clean sheet. Hopefully we'll play with a bit more purpose next weekend.
  8. Like someone said though, maybe Coloccini didn't want anything made public. With the rumours today that might have had to have changed. Pretty s*** that even for something like this people find a reason to slag off the club. Pathetic. Read both of my posts and get off your high horse. Where did I mention you? Look throughout the thread, some people have been blaming the club's position, Pardew, etc. for this it's pathetic. Yep. There's a contingent of people on this board who need to grow up. It's school yard point scoring.
  9. It must be serious if he wants to go back to Argentina.
  10. This is where you would think professional pride, not just as a footballer but also your own personal pride, and as our Captain would kick in. You'd hope Pardew sits him down before the game and has a good chat to him. Remind him it could be his last for the club, go out there and give the fans a vintage performance etc. Really get him up for the game.
  11. He has played way more matches then he should have with his VERY poor form. Same goes for Tiote etc. I agree he should've been dropped. He's not an abysmal player though, he's just hideously out of form.

  13. Some brass neck like "Aye, yer kna yer club captain? Just release him for us will yee? We'd quite like to sign him" I hope we try that with Remy.
  14. We're only in the 11th day of it as well. Bet we get to the UEFA Cup final and our team coach crashes, Dream Team style. http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m971j7sVg61qf822z.gif
  15. Why does the president say they only have one week in which to act then?
  16. Feb 2nd - Coloccini moves on an emergency loan to San Lorenzo.
  17. Captains have got to be like a manager on the pitch, Paul Bracewell style. They've got to have an understanding of the game and lead by example. I don't think Taylor is capable of performing that role.
  18. Understand your logic, Tooj, but if Yohan seems a better fit. He also seems to be the leader of the French contingent too.
  19. FYP. The club fell out massively with Talksport when Alan Brazil started telling the world Pardew had fallen out with Ashley and Llambias before the start of the season. I doubt they're pro anything to do with NUFC after the dressing down they go on Twitter by the club's official account
  20. Imagine if he scores tomorrow? It might get a bit emotional.
  21. I can't recall one player, good or shit, leaving this club and latter saying "Well, I'd have stayed if it wasn't for Alan Pardew". The bloke has his faults, but fuck me this is ridiculous. Next you'll be saying he was involved in 9/11.
