  1. Do we hope he picks up some injuries and suspensions so we might keep him?
  2. Yellow cards are an occupational hazard of being that kind of player.
  3. All I can remember about Nicky Maynard is THAT goal against QPR.
  4. Because we've shown we're willing to sell crucial players without replacement, that our transfer policy revolves around resale value, he's quadrupled in value since we bought him, Man United need a defensive midfielder and possibly the only thing which has prevented him going to their rivals is a dislike of London, we've sold our best players around him and stranded him in Ghana in a staggering display of incompetence... Even if it's a rumour that's been pulled out of someone's ass, it's not hard to see why it pushes the right buttons.
  5. There are clubs out there owned by sovereign states, we can't compete with that (Ignoring the fact we didn't sell him to Man City, nor does anyone expect us to compete with them)
  6. All I can see happening is we go looking for players with a desperate hole in our midfield and a big bag of Carroll/Tiote money and people aren't willing to sell to us for below market value, the board won't buy unless they think they're getting a good deal and we can add defensive midfielder to striker and left back on the Newcastle understaffed bingo card. A monster fee could be bad for the club in footballing terms.
  7. Might turn out we've been very unlucky, if he wasn't quite as good we'd have more of a chance of having him actually play football for us than being a financial asset, In a similar manner, Ben Arfa's injury record might be a blessing in disguise because we might actually get some games out of him. If he'd been fit since he got here it's perfectly possible he might not be here at all. Welcome to the upside down world of supporting Mike Ashley's Newcastle United.
  8. 14m, 40m, means nothing to the fans if its not spent on the team. Hope we can hold on to him until January. Be interesting to see the excuse machine if he does go, wasn't one of the reasons the Carroll money vanished because it was supposedly to pay for new deals for Enrique and Tiote?
  9. Rather concerned I'm missing out on lower league players, there's only one player in my outfield starting line up that's not from Man U, Arsenal, City, Liverpool or Spurs.
  10. It says any transfers you've made will be refunded, I've been tinkering with my team and clicking ok to spending 30 points like it ain't no thing.
  11. Made 24 points worth of transfers, was quite unnerving even though they say I'll get the points back Shola captain
  12. Yeah. Looks like it'll still say it costs you until midnight tonight but it'll be refunded.
  13. How the fuck can you just look at a fixture and see what points each player got? If I go to this gameweek you can click the scoreline, but it doesn't do anything!

Sick of some of this shit he keeps coming out with to excuse us not being able to hold on to players, didn't realise Liverpool was a sovereign state.
  16. Still logged on, might change my strip colours
  17. I logged in, looked at my team, decided I didn't want to change anything after all and just fannied about browsing potential transfers for next week.

    Sunderland...

Sunderland going on about a 9-1 victory from before the days of radio is more embarrassing for them than the 5-1 humping was.
  19. Your old account will still be there but they've done away with usernames. I'm getting the same thing now...
  20. People who are getting log in errors are remembering that it's email address and not username this year, yeah? I'm just getting timeouts after logging in. At least my team is almost sorted, my lass did a quick team about 3 weeks aog and hasn't looked at it since
  21. It's overloaded with millions of people trying to do their final tinkering.

  23. Dunno, so many of my possible players in that position were rotation risks or doubts I just though fuck it and shoved him in
