Why does it look that way? Have I missed some form of "We're not signing any more strikers" announcement? If Pardew believes our main striker is an as yet unsigned addition to the 'out-and-out goalscorer' he's expecting 15-25 goals from then I can only assume he also expects us to be going for the top four. So you've managed to turn Pardew's efforts to instill confidence in Ba, into a negative by claiming it means we're not interested in signing another striker as our "main" striker. Eh, where was this? I think it looks like Ba will be our main striker. So fucking what? It's a fucking joke that anyone on here expressing an opinion let alone a concern is automatically accused of panicking, doom-mongering or being overly negative for the sake of it. Not only that but it's seemingly impossible to be optimistic about some things and less so about others. Midds and I just renewed our season ticket, why the hell would I do that if all I wanted to do was criticise the club and be down about everything? I can think of lots of other things I could spend £250 a year on. Well said. I haven't seen everyone who expresses a concern labelled a doom-monger, any more than everyone expressing positivity is labelled an Ashley apologist. Pointless having that meta-debate, just get on with discussing the point. Didn't you just post a suicide smilie in response to somebody's post?

Surprised by the amount of people who would be happy to finish 8th. That would be absolute failure as far as I'm concerned. We'd have comfortably finished there with Carroll at our disposal last year and that money has been touted as making us much stronger.
-
Nut we should be going all out to get Sturridge and N'Zogbia, proven quality in this league, and before pre season preferably.
-
Madras, what are you on about owners 'throwing money at it'? We're talking about the money we got for Carroll.
-
Darren Bent is average dross? Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez are? Looney tunes. It matters because they are our competitors, which is fairly obvious. It matters if they're strengthening on a basis of quality, while we do so based on who is cheap and available.
-
How come all the other clubs who have received large transfer fees recently haven't done the same? How come Liverpool, Villa, Spurs and now Sunderland didn't go for frees and hunt for cheap release clauses? Is Darren Bent playing for free?

Olivier Bernard's more likely to recapture his form than this bugger.

Not even sure he makes it to that level tbh. He's certainly never been a first team semi-regular in the way that Fletcher, O'Shea, Brown etc have been. Just seems to get wheeled out for Carling Cup ties and Champions League group games after they've qualified. Wouldn't touch him.

Kleberson? John Salako???

Different bloke. I didn't know either, had to Wiki him.

When I moved my season ticket a few years ago, I went to a pre-season friendly to test it out and it was fucking restricted view. Fucking hell. Which part of the stadium was that in? Leazes level 4, it was one of the big white railings on the concrete barrier at the front of each block of seats, completely obscured my view of the Leazes penalty area. This was a few years ago now mind, Google images seems to suggest that they're not there anymore or at least not as big, which I'm not surprised about cos there was no way I was paying top whack for that, tbf to the box office, they moved me as soon as I got in contact about it. Realistically unless you're at pitch level or something (and they'd probably have to dig a hole for your seat to have you at pitch level), it's probably difficult to find a shit seat in SJP these days. Where is yours?

I don't want to ever see him leave.

There's been a definite change over the last few years in the attitude to ex-players. Everyone's a cunt. Maybe it's because we became used to the only players leaving were those who were no longer deemed good enough whereas now good players are more likely to want away and we're more likely to want to sell them. Football fans demand loyalty but rarely return the favour.
-
To be fair, it's the same with just about every club in the league. Recruit loads of players at 17/18 from other parts of the country/world and for a number of different reasons you'll be lucky if you get one that ends up with the first team. Maybe so, it's quite surprising how much of a dead duck some of them have been though, to the point where they're not even getting in the reserve side. I'd love to know the story behind signings like Zamblera. Did he ever get on the field when he went to Roma and Sampdoria?
-
Obvious troll is obvious? I have absolutely no idea what that means.

There's a little trick to it. Once I figured it out it got easier. Yes the trick is to lie and state you got 36 seconds then berate others about it.
-
The youth that we've apparently scouted and brought in under a fanfare has generally been a right load of old shite, either that or ignored and underused. Spear, Zamblera, Tozer, I suspect Kadar will be on his bike very soon (although that's not really his fault, the lad's made of glass), we can only hope Vuckic doesn't go the same way although he will if he doesn't get some first team football under his belt soon. No idea what's going on with the likes of Adjei. It's saying something that Ranger's probably been the pick of the bunch.

I agree with not taking any loans. It's not necessary with the funds at our disposal and it just creates extra work next year as well as maintaining a high player turnover.
-
Far far worse. He's really dreadful. Whether that's the injuries (Nolan), lack of football having taken their toll, whatever, he looks like a bloke who's won a competition to get an appearance.
-
Indeed, the players aren't back in training anyway.

Since when did Mark Douglas become this trusted sage for all things NUFC? Having a Twitter account has somehow given him a credibility he doesn't deserve. He's never been any different to any other local hack.
-
It's that he won't be seen on Ligue 1 pitches.
