  1. The club's got no fucking ambition man, Carroll could be England's centre forward for the next ten years or more, he's not going to consistently achieve that playing with loan signings and free fucking transfers. You can all hoy your toys out the pram at the player when it happens again and again, like it did with Shay Given, Charles N'Zogbia, James Milner, Sebastian Bassong and when it inevitably happens with Jose Enrique and Cheik Tiote but eventually you've got to look at why all these players are desperate to get away from NUFC for the sake of their careers. Liverpool are in far more debt than us and they're spending £50m on two strikers. I'm looking forward to seeing us spend £35m in the summer, presumably we'll spend it on a flying fucking pig.
  2. Come on. You've got more about you than that. Textbook manipulation that you've all fallen for. Yep. PR for dummies.

    Strongest Eleven

This basically renders Barton and Nolan completely impotent in the system we play. It'll take a lot more than £35m to sort this mess out.
  4. We've accepted a bid, man. Of course it's partially Ashley's fault. Accepted the bid after he submitted the transfer request. The way the situation has been presented leads me to believe that we had every intention of selling him if the right bid came in. Aye, funny how you never ever heard of bids going in for the likes of Carragher, Scholes, Giggs - players that were genuinely "not for sale". It flowed round the media because we let it. Both clubs have to agree to a bid being made public, otherwise it's tapping up.
  5. Fucking hell, people on here are thick as mince. This is Mike Ashley. It's been on the cards since Pardew was appointed, in fact this is exactly WHY he was appointed. The club have accepted a bid and that tells Andy Carroll "you are not as important to us as this money". Same reason Les Ferdinand didn't turn round when Shearer's knee buckled even though he wanted to stay 100%.
  6. Great local players who want to be where they are are the ones that you should build your team around. Scholes, Giggs, Terry, Gerrard, Carragher - these are the most important players for those clubs over the last 5, 10, 20 years. Far more than any three year deal foreigner.
  7. I've seen too many expensive flops at NUFC to consider any price. Big money signings don't excite me, good players playing for us does that and one does not necessarily equal the other.
  8. Fair enough. Personally I hope he has a shitter, just because I don't like Liverpool.
  9. says who? If you think Carroll is better than Suarez, you're daft. Suarez is a big gamble considering the amount of strikers with much better goal records who've come out of Holland and flopped. I'm not saying he's better than Carroll, but honestly he has proven that he's a good striker for the national team too during the world cup. Afonso Alves, Mateja Kezman, and those guys never proved it for their national teams in a big tournament. He hardly set the place on fire, man. He got 3 goals. 3 goals in a World Cup in a team with two other strikers getting a few share of the goals is pretty good. I'm not saying he set the place on fire, I just said he's more proven on the international stage than Kezman and Afonso Alves, and even Dirk Kuyt were. He scored 16 in 38 for Uruguay which isn't very bad. He's also a way better goalkeeper than Carroll. On that logic we should sign David Healy. The "international stage" is far weaker than the domestic one. On that logic we should look to promote you as Chief Scout at the club. I mean Northern Ireland finished 4th in the World Cup and Healy was one of the major reasons why they reached there. Healy also scored 81 in 108 for his club which played in the Champions League. No...just no... Sorry like but there's a very long list of players who have been bought off the back of three or four games at a major tournament and absolutely bombed. Suarez might be fantastic but judging him because he scored two goals against South Korea (their back four made up mainly of players from the Saudi league) is very ill advised. He's got one goal in this year's Champions League and they got knocked out, so I wouldn't go bandying that around as evidence of his ability to do it in England.
  10. Pity Spurs will lose Dawson for a game as they might replace him with someone more effective. An 8 year old girl, for example.

That may have relevance to his price tag but absolutely none when talking about his ability to adapt to the Premier League.

  14. Because he's played for us for four years and has had two, maybe three good games there?
  15. PS: The name of Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson has also been mentioned in recent days - but whether that's a plan B in case Ireland didn't come on board remains to be seen.
  16. Whenever I've been to Old Trafford they've spent it singing about a bloke who never played for them.
  17. Happy to give him a shot and hope he can regain his form. Just hope he isn't used to disrupt a system that's been working quite nicely. Needs to play off a striker with Barton and Nolan left where they are.

  19. Of course he gives the team balance.
