  1. We'll be back in for Michael Johnson at this rate.

Fuller always does well against us unfortunately. Probably why he's buying him, very funny otherwise though.

    Sunderland...

Wait, they're not really trying to sign Ricardo Fuller?
  4. I can only assume that the 5Live lot that were discussing this the other night have never actually set foot on wearside considering their bemusement at somebody wanting to leave. They've always been a stepping stone club. I could give you a big long list of players who've stayed with us longer than five years in my years supporting NUFC, some more welcome than others. Even the shite is desperate to be away from that place so God knows how they expect to keep the odd decent player.
  5. Bent isn't average really; few players in this league have matched him for goals in recent years. Gyan is a pretty decent striker IMO - whether he can keep it up in this league is a different matter as iirc, he was hardly clinical at Udinese or Rennes. Henderson is overrated. Watched him a few times now and nothing particularly impresses me. He's alright - but he's young and English, hence worth £15m. Relatively sensible mackem at work says if anyone offered them £4m for Henderson, they should rip their hands off. That'd be too much, from what I've seen of him.
  6. Bagpuss sounds like he's losing the plot. He should have sympathy with Bent, both want to be at Newcastle and both know they never will. At least Bent's had the bottle to move away and stop pining for us.
  7. Except Tiote's not playing.
  8. You'd have set pieces but you'd also have him in central midfield which he's absolutely shit at.
  9. Didn't specifically mention SWP tbh I'd rather have a player who can come in make an instant impact, than a young player who's best years are ahead of him - that's what the summer is for, January is stop-gap and we need a quick striker who can compliment Carroll and a winger who can cross a ball, and I'd rather players who have been doing it in the PL for years than one that hasn't even played in the PL - again, the summer is for that kind of signing, when we're definitely safe. Agree with this basically. While Barton's doing a sterling job on the right at the moment I wouldn't want him to be our only option there. A right sided winger or midfielder with pace would be handy, and I still think Barton has a role to play in central midfield in the longer term. Looney tunes. He's had more good games since the turn of the year on the right than his entire NUFC career in the middle. The statistics are very telling this season between the two. That might have something to do with who he was playing with when he was in the middle. Not many midfielders are going to look great next to Nicky Butt (ask Nolan). I quite like the idea of Tiote and Barton through the middle. I don't. It won't stop Barton giving away possession by dallying on the ball while looking for a pass, and it will negate his tremendous delivery. Nothing personal, I honestly think anyone who wouldn't have Barton as much a certified starter on the right as Enrique at left wing is absolutely out of their mind. He's totally changed my opinion on him this season and that is everything to do with where he's playing. Much more a Beckham than a Lampard.

Do we? On the left maybe, not on the right, not for the first team. Well we do, yeah. Because Barton won't play every other game this season (it'd be insane to rely on only him for all crosses), Jonas can't do it and in a few matches time when other teams catch on he'll probably be being marked by 3 players a time, meaning we need someone on the left who can get the ball into the box. Why buy a right winger for that then? Also, Wright Phillips' crossing is average at best.

  13. What experience has SWP got? Will he show Andy Carroll the best way to waste his career by chasing dollar signs? Or will he show James Perch the comfiest way to sit on the bench? Hatem Ben Arfa's spent more time on the Eastlands pitch this season than SWP.
  14. My hatred of him mainly comes from his dive to get Robbie Elliott sent off in that FA Cup quarter final, that and being a mercenary little shit who hasn't had a good game for three years including far too many embarrassingly poor England showings. I also do not want to see Joey Barton shifted from the right of midfield.
  15. Can't stand Wright Phillips. What the fuck would we do with the little cunt anyway?
  16. Aye, SAFC fans are well better than us like. So much class, so much sophistication... hang on... They are proper big lads tweeting a football who's not likely to give a s*** what fans of his ex club thought of him The only group of fans I've met who enjoy the company of Sunderland fans are Darlo supporters, and that's only because their brand of football tends to be so tedious they'll go for anything. That and they're both cunts.
  17. It's a shame but he seems to thrive on knowing he's better than everyone else but when he thinks he might not be, his bottle goes. Unfortunately it leaves us looking very one paced and pace is always a dangerous weapon off the bench.

    Sunderland...

How is that song any different to singing about Ashley Cole's wife? Cos she's from Walker and they're not?
  19. 18m seems a lot of money but you shouldn't sell your goalscorers. We know better than any that spending big on a replacement is no guarantee of success.
  20. It's just a pity we didn't win as it was one of the great derby performances I can remember. Ridiculously good.

    Dan Gosling

If that ignorant bastard Webb had given us a clear throw in when Gosling went down the left, we'd have won that match. Probably still thinking about the fuck up he made of the World Cup final, prick.
  22. Wouldn't take any fee for him. I echo Dave's sentiments. I don't support Mike Ashley's accountant.
