Newcastle United 1-4 Liverpool - FT - Entertainers Charity Match
Big Geordie replied to kane2005's topic in Football
Not long back in - an enjoyable game, even if the scoreline wasn't ideal Great to see some of the lads rolling back the years - Ginola still has it, Tino looked knackered after 10mins and Albert looked as classy as ever. Thought about going for the park and ride, but ended up parking at Tesco and walking. Just as well, reading what happened to some above! I wonder where Ferdinand was today though? -

Not many tickets left though apparently, and all cash is going to good local causes. -

I'm going - should be a cracking afternoon. Just hope the rain holds off! -
37 games unbeaten? Some record.

Read it on TF's site. Cracking piece.

Pre-season specialist Haris Vučkić joins FC Twente
Big Geordie replied to Skirge's topic in Football
Got his autograph for the bairn, through some mutual friends. Top lad - hope he stays injury free! -
Sounds very nasty - wish the lad a full and speedy recovery. How did Gateshead come on, tonight? Last I heard they were losing 1-0 against Wrexham. Have heard though that Ashington won at Vauxhall Motors (3 leagues above!) in their FA Cup Replay. Helluva result for the Colliers.
-
One of them is at Pompey now, I believe.
-
Don't remember that one, Haris. Drop me a PM if you'd rather not say on here, please.

4-0. Lampard again - another massive rick by the keeper.
-
3-0 now. Goalkeeper howler.
-
Lampard makes it 2-0. Bolton look doomed already.

Two very good goals today - thought MotD would have shown Jonas' again?! Penalty was a stone-waller and with the goal that was ruled out at the end of the game, the ball looked in to me. Will take the win though. -

Great win, but we were hanging on in the end. Bizarre choice of subs from Pardew though which very nearly cost us the game - lucky! Still though, it's been a terrific start to the season but there is still plenty of work that lies ahead (particularly in November!) Looking forward to seeing the highlights on Sky tonight. -
Tevez and/or his advisers do seem to try and engineer regular moves to no doubt keep the cash rolling in for them. I hope City let him rot, though doubtlessly the PFA will be ready to step in.

Yup - 5Live saying they surrounded the ref at full time. Nout new there then!

I doubt anything posted on here today regarding events will be noticed by anyone significant at all. Can see Titus solicitor running home to check Newcastle Onlines thought on the matter. He will if he is a Sunderland Supporter. Nail on head.

The stance from the admins has been done before and should be adhered to. I'd guess there will be people 'watching' - not just this place, but others too.

If they sack him, then he can't play football for the remainder of his contract and his career is then probably over. City are rich enough to deal with this in their own way, but it's ironic that this has happened given the wages they have chucked around over the last 3 years. You end up reaping what you sow. Chucking a wobble such as this is nout new for the modern day footballer. I remember Kieron Dyer refusing to play right wing for us, during Sir Bobby's days and also chucking away the captains armband like a dirty rag. He should have never been allowed to play for the club again after that. Then again I guess we couldn't afford to bin him. Many modern day top-flight footballers are so removed from reality, it's untrue. Sad times.

Pen to Basel.....

Was mentioned after the derby defeat - my sister who works for William Hill heard it on the grapevine. Would be terrific - Monkey's Heed back! I still remember him offering out one of our lot down at Bolton, a couple of years ago. Was class to watch.
-
Yup - defo Rob from Steel Wheels.

I packed in 4 years ago, due to family reasons which meant a change of priorities. I also don't doubt that they have been many who refuse to return until Ashley has left the club, regardless of how the team do. It's just the way things are and coupled with the current economic climate, a drop in attendances was always going to happen. Of course, it's not just NUFC who are experiencing this - it's across the board though Hartlepool buck the trend with their fantastic deals on s/t's.
