Yeah, but the capacity is capped at around 10000 for safety reasons, IIRC.

I'm going. Taking one of the lad's that I care for, so should be a good day out.
-
I for one can't blame Beye on this one. Since he joined, the lad has done his best for the club and never caused an ounce of bother for the club. If he moves on, then I wish him well. Players cannot forgo their own careers to stay at this sorry mess of a club. I'd sooner have that they want to leave due to the situation rather than pledge to stay when we all know that's purely about the big fat contracts that they are on.

The Guardian piece is worrying, even taking into account who it is written by. For me, the longer this goes on without the club being sold - the more realistic the proposition that Ashley will be unable to sell and we'll have Kinnear back in charge of whatever is left of the first team and a bunch of kids/reserves. We could be in for a very long 4-5 years - ala Leeds United.

Utrecht game cancelled, playing Leyton Orient (a) £45rtn Train
Big Geordie replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
For the best. Hope the lads who booked up get a refund. Can't believe the club would organize a game on the day of Sir Bobby's charity match in the first place. A totally bonkers decision. -
I wish him a good and speedy recovery, too.
-
The longer this lingers, the more unlikely we'll be sold IMO. If Ashely wanted shot ASAP, he'd have done it by now. It's all down to greed and f**k what condition he leaves the club in.

NewcastleMAD running the Vialli story. Available on NewsNow.

Yup - the days of needing a s/t just to be guaranteed to get to games are now long gone. People can now (and should) be more discerning, especially given current circumstances.
-
OK - cheers. Tickets sorted.
-
General sale via the website mate. Mine haven't arrived yet like. Cheers Dave. I'll have another bash. Do I have to register/become a member with the site at all?
-
Fancy going to Darlington. Are tickets only available to s/t holders at the moment, or are they on general sale? Have tried to buy online, but not letting me.
-
Got to remember to take anything which Del Boy (Llambias) says with a pinch of salt. The man and the regime have been only too happy to lie when it suits. When the I's have been dotted and the T's crossed on the sale, can we only believe anything.

Explain some of the logic behind his decisions since he bought the club then. If he's shown one thing, it's that you cannot predict the man's motives because common sense (and logic) go out of the window where he is concerned. Bad decisions and crap businessman. Doesn't wash with me. Firstly, he's a successful businessman away from football. You don't get there by making consistently bad decisions, which is what he's done with this football club for the past almost year. There's more to it than that.

Robster. For me it's all personal on the part of Ashley. It's his response to the fans turning on him after the Keegan business last September. He's going to make sure he can destroy this club as much as he can, and leave behind something which could take decades to repair.
-
Make no mistake - Ashley won't be investing any more of his own cash into this club. Players will be sold or loaned out for knock down fees and what we'll be left with his reserves and academy players to start the season (assuming we are not sold by then) What player in his right mind would want to join us at this present time?
-
Have you seen the new away top yet? That's another 'parting gift' from Ashley. I firmly believe that his intent is to set the club back by more years than he already has. Scorched Earth policy? You bet your bollocks.
-
.com sum it up perfectly. 3 words to say 'a poor spell'. Would like to think that he'll fall on his arse at Man United and be dogged by injuries (as he was here) - won't happen though.
-
It's all very well and admirable saying you support the club, etc first and foremost. Don't we all? What that does though is sustain the culture of how the club is ran. As long as the cash keeps on rolling in every summer, NOTHING has to change. Newcastle United will remain as a cash cow for whoever happens to own it.
-
No - Mike Ashley, Llambias and the over-paid, underperforming players need you.
-
I'm still bemused as to why the hell anyone would choose to renew their s/t at this present time? Baffling.

BBC: Freddy Shepherd £60m offer for NUFC likely to be accepted
Big Geordie replied to jimmymag's topic in Football
I'm undecided. Shepherd will be better than Ashley, but it was his interference which started the club's slide back in 2003. I'd guess he'll be being backed by foreign money, so he may just be the figurehead and not numero-uno. I'm not sure he could raise that much cash on his own, even with roping in his son and brother. -
Aye he shops there all the time, watch as he goes through the 10 items or less till with a fkn trolly full Aye - I noticed that! Top fella though - has to be said.
