I think you need to calm down, the "snide comment" as you put it was not aimed at any supporter who isn't from Newcastle, more those who may feel people need to justify why they support Newcastle, again, I wasn't suggesting that anybody was justifying it, more that some might feel they should do so. Don't know enough about him but for some reason i feel its a step up from Pearson. Pearson should of had more impact, considering he's supposed to be an imposing figure, but for most part that didn't come across at any time i saw him in action. Lets hope this guy has more impact, we should all be thankful Terry Mac hasn't been made assistant, that in itself is a huge bonus!

Central defenders need to develop a partnership just as the strikers in a 4-4-2 formation have to. As a young CB coming into the team, Taylor could have hoped to develop the partnership with an established member of the team, but he hasn't had that, he's had Bramble, Boumsong et al. Instead of learning from an experienced CB, he became the post that his defensive partner could lean on. Taylor has improved since he first came into the first team but by no means as much as if he had been partnering Scumball in the heart of defence. Not signing him and allowing him to join him to join Pompey was a pivotal moment for Taylor, Roeder and Newcastle (imho). 100% agreed.

Because we don't bum an average player just because he's come through the youth system?
