  1. There's one person who stands to receive some as well if it doesn't happen... TBH i couldn't give a flying fuk about losing face, i'd be too deverstated that our club is ran by a bunch of jokers.
  2. Although at that time, it was no secret that Spurs were leading the race to sign Duff. Even Duff admitted that he'd spoken to Spurs. But we've said we dont want to sell, and the player hasn't handed in a transfer request.
  3. Agreed. Had reservations about him, but a lot less now after seeing him so far. Hopefully a very good pairing for Taylor. But still think we need more.
  4. Also i just refuse to believe it, the price and the club. If it was Arsenal and £6m then i'd be quite believing it. Were not in the position to be letting anyone go who doesn't want to, and he's been bright as fuk in the friendlies, and that will hopefully continue. Itrs crazy as i think this time next season we could have a zoggy back on track, and a one worth nearer the £10m mark rather than selling to Fulham for £3m. If this goes though i'd be furious with the football club. I can't see it happening, £3m get you fuk all these days, Zoggy isn't fuk all.
  5. From a fulham site Which is what SSN's website is reporting. Rumours, that's all but James wants to state it as FACT Zoggy is on the verge of leaving. I'm not saying its fact, but I think its likely. If the article was inverted, and we were the club reported to be signing whoever, I know that the majority on here would consider it likely given the BBC's track record. 'He's off' You are doing a pretty good job of trying to make people believe this is true though, when our own manager has done nothing but praise the lad and say he's not for sale. But because of a quoteless BBC article you post it up stating it as fact (its what you did by saying he's off) as its the BBc and there always right with the 'thought to be close' line. Your right about the inverted bit though.
  6. Can someone change the tread title to something more reasonable such as 'Zoggy not going anywhere, Fulham change transfer target to Bouazza, no quotes, nothing to bee seen here at all, move along please'
  7. From a fulham site Which is what SSN's website is reporting. Rumours, that's all but James wants to state it as FACT Zoggy is on the verge of leaving.
  8. Looks like he is off given that it is one of those typical 'BBC understands' articles that always come true. Don't take this the wrong way but you're talking out of your arsehole. How can you possibly take a snippet like that and take it as gospel? Editorial standards. Dont BBC always only report these things if they recieve matching info from two reliable sources. No.
  9. BBC also fixed call ins for Blue Peter, stated the Queen had a strop and faked scenes in some auction show. Lets all believe what the BBC say, it must be true!
  10. No it doesn't look like he's off FFS. > Fulham are now after Bouazza, i think they get the idea £3m isn't going to shift Zoggy out of Newcastle, i hope others will cotton on soon enough.
  11. What the fuck are you on about? Fulham are now after Bouazza, i think they get the idea £3m isn't going to shift Zoggy out of Newcastle, i hope others will cotton on soon enough.
  12. I do hope thats sarcasm, for your sake. Why would it be, and what will happen to me?
  13. I don't want to bring my misery in to such a jolly thread. I thought about it though You are saying were deluded to think we could fix our problems in the 1st window. I don' think we can, but we could of done a much better job that whats happened so far. Citeh are embarrassing us ATM, they got a new manager AFTER ours was appointed, they got their takeover AFTER we got ours. There's really no excuse not to release funds for defenders.
  14. Bet you'd get a good crowd attending for that.
  15. The board have allowed it to happen, there no action in the transfer market and very poor communication to the fans about the takeover has led to press speculation on just about every aspect of the club. Look at the Yanks at Liverpool, always on TV, their introduction to the English media was a tad cheesy, but at least the fans got a good idea of what they were about and what their plans are. We've had to make to with one half arsed interview and a couple of lines since, its not good enough. The fans are not in the best of moods and the board have put them there. I'm not happy with their efforts so far, i think they've been naive and amateurish since their arrival, and i cant see it getting any better. I agree, but I hope it can get better. I'm very negative ATM. I honestly thought this was the start of a revival, but so far its been a false dawn. I'm sure it will get better, but i hope you are wrong (comments in another thread) that he could be in it for the small profits and happy with EPL existence. Villa of old, i couldn't take it. I'll cheer up once we bring in some defenders, i'm sure of it.
  16. City move for Bojinov http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=479537&CPID=8&clid=43&lid=2&title=City+move+for+Bojinov&channel=football_home& Manchester City are understood to have lodged a bid with Fiorentina for Valeri Bojinov. Sven Goran Eriksson has already signed one Bulgarian in the shape of Martin Petrov and now he is hoping to add another. Eriksson is desperately trying to re-shape City's squad before the transfer window closes and has added four new faces so far, but he could add up to ten more within the next month. Bojinov has now emerged as a target with Italian reports claiming a bid was lodged on Monday with Fiorentina. The Florence club are now considering the bid, but look likely to let the 21-year-old open talks with City. Bojinov spent last season on-loan at Juventus, but they have decided against taking up their option on him and Fiorentina have since made the striker available for transfer.
  17. Fulham bid for Bouazza http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=479579&CPID=8&clid=54&lid=2&title=Fulham+bid+for+Bouazza Skysports.com understands that Fulham have lodged a bid for Watford's Hameur Bouazza. The Algerian international is looking to make the step back up to the Premier League, following Watford's relegation last summer. The 22-year-old is being trailed by a number of clubs, but Fulham are looking to win the race to land him and have made their move. Portsmouth, West Ham and Derby are amongst the other suitors and could mount rival bids in the coming days. Watford are standing firm over their valuation of Bouazza and insist they will not let him leave cheaply, but Fulham will hope their bid - believed to be £3million - will be enough to secure a deal.
  18. He's been here 8 years and steadily gone backwards as a player. He's probably had a handful ofreally good games in the last 3 years, is unbelievably injury prone, vastly overpaid and the fans hate him and he wants to leave. Of couse we should keep him!! Yes a lot of fans don't like him, and the bandwagon charva types, who we seem to have more of than most, have decided that he is the one to hate right now (good news for Butt, Luque, Carr, Ramage etc etc ) BUT all his managers and coaches have considered him a very important team player (when fit). Who's most qualified to decide ? And where are these managers now? Sacked. Dyer has been a bad apple for years, never realised his own talent, became a role model for the bling crew, showed disrespect to the fans, the club, the manager & has been paid like a superstar since his arrival for his efforts or lack of. I'd have liked to see him become a senior player this year, take the bull by the horns, be the player that we all thought he was going to be, and finally put all his demons behind him, but instead he does a runner at the 1st opportunity, but still wont even hand in his transfer request as money is still far more important to him than family, clearly so. I can see why so many have beef with him, i think he's a little prick, it is however a shame after 8 years of putting up with him some have cracked booing him and egging his house, but i'll not lose sleep over that of him, and when he goes we put another terrible chapter of NUFC behind us and move on.
  19. Doing a better job than ours so far.
  20. Rather take a chance on Barnes, or go find someone for the same price across Europe who can run with the ball through the centre, Barnes is canny for that, but probably not ready for NUFC. Or buy a proper DMC. I'm not having a go here, but you can't just name players like this and assume they'll fit in. Barnes or "someone for the same price across Europe who can run with the ball through the centre" (could you be any less specific btw ). Yeah, it's the club's job to find these players, but maybe the quality just isn't there at the right price, or maybe they're unsure on whether they can take the risk on a specific player etc. etc. You can't assume Smith will just fit in either. You take a chance with every player, i'm being vague as i'm not a scout and i'm not going to pretend to be one. I've seen Barnes a few times last season, and thought he was excellent. A player we'd do well to sign as i think he's a bright talent and future NT player. I'd be very happy selling Dyer & bringing in Barnes, of course he has to adapt to the EPL and a club this size, but i reckon in two seasons he'd be a 1st teamer we couldn't live without. I could be wrong as well. Smith would just be a meh player, who'll never have a position, and won't get any better. An unhappy Dyer, the money of an unexpected sale, perfect opportunity to take a chance since we've done without him for the last several seasons anyway, whether someone abroad or going for a young English talent to replace him. Don't you think we've done enough "taking a chance"? I'd rather sign someone solid where I know what I'm getting (you say shite, I say good, let's call the whole thing off ). Not some young kid who might be the next Jermaine Jenas. Or some foreign bloke who could be the next Hugo Viana. We have, and a lot have backfired, and thats where the manager takes it on. Smith is a safe option then, but not a very good one. I'd honestly hand on heart rather keep an unhappy Dyer than sign Smith. £6m could probably get you Appiah or someone of that quality surly? These are slight risks, but there are players out there on the verge or in good form and hold good quality for that price. Adapting to the Country, local area and style of football will take longer, but Sam himself stated that as one of his strongest points. He knows every religion, requirement, family member & lifestyle choices of his entire playing staff at Bolton, and he did everything in his power to settle players quickly and it worked. I'd have no problem on him taking a chance in that respect, as long as the quality is there, Appiah is a good example, i don't really know what else is out there for £6m, but surly we can spend it more wisely than on Alan Smith. Its not just the quality i've got a problem with though, its the type of player. If we were lacking in strikers, or didn't have Ameobi or Viduka, Smith is tempting as a second striker in support of an Owen or Martins, but we don't need him and people thinking he's a midfielder really need to think again, he's not and never will be. If he's a mid signing, which by all accounts he would be, then we can get a £6m mid to do a much better job than him, a natural mid who's job it is, not a converted striker who struggled in that previous position. He'd make a cracking RB. [Windup/] Better Left back (insert 100 year old joke here)
