More than suitable, i'd imaging we'd have a hard time getting him here.

http://home.skysports.com/player.aspx?plid=50175&clid=144&cpid=24 He's a regular, 18 games so far this season.

Plays in France? Aye he's supposed to be decent. 6ft aswell so a good height! Wonder if they'd do a swap for Babayaro then? Got to get rid of him somehow.

Given really needs to work on his angels.

I thought he was a cb. He can play left back too I like CB's playing as FB's, total solid unit. Doesn't offer much going forward, but keeps the goals out, especially the crosses.

Not really tbh, i've actually asked on here before, just know they produce a good standard of fullback these days, and the German league is quite like our own, so adapting and scouting ability shouldn't be too hard even for this club to do. Greek ones as well as Dutch. The games are similar imo, requires a certain level of ability but the mental & physical characteristics of these nations usually are the same, but hopefully cheaper in price to buy compared to shopping here. We need determined, strong, fast & injury free players, then we can build on the rest after that.

Wome was woeful for Fulham when on loan (thinking of the same guy am i?)

Not many, need to go outside of the EPL imo. Been saying for a while we should look in Germany. Matty Taylor would spring to many peoples mind if you think of EPL Lb's, but take away his cracking shots and he's a pretty average player, even worse defender.

Aye, there wasn't enough room for them here, too many cooks etc...
-
We beat Spurs were on the same points as Villa & 3 behind Tottenham themselves, not so bad considering the start and current injuries. Also Villa have Manu at home this weekend (IIRC) so catch up is on the cards hopefully we have them new years day though Aye but thats next year man!

Aslong as they have never seen him play they might I would love Baines here though, he's impressed me a lot this season. Well, worth a shot wasn't it? £6m though, might see him move. I'd be happy to trade Carr, Bramble, Babayaro or Butt (even in good form) if they wanted any of them, Jewell did buy Heskey, so he's not as switched on as people give him credit for! :winking:

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=436972&CPID=8&clid=111&lid=2&title=Jewell+fires+Baines+warning Paul Jewell has warned Arsenal that Leighton Baines will not be leaving Wigan Athletic on the cheap. Ahead of the January transfer window, reports have claimed that Arsenal are looking to bring in a new left-back. Baines' impressive form for Wigan this season, coupled with his displays for England's Under 21 side, has made him a prime target for the top clubs. Reports have claimed that Arsene Wenger is ready to pay £4million to bring Baines to Emirates Stadium in the New Year. But while Wigan boss Jewell insists he would never block a player from joining a club of Arsenal's stature, it would only be for a fair price. Jewell said: "£4million won't get Leighton Baines that's for sure. "If he is being talked about as a future England full-back, then you can't get him for that. "I'll never stop a player going to a top-four club, but I will at £4million. That's not on. "Right now I've had no contact with Arsenal, but I can guarantee he will not be going for that amount of money. "Obviously, we don't want to lose any players. Leighton is a very sensible lad and I think he is better off here at the moment." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ £5m + Babayaro might get them thinking, might.

I symphatise with David Jones. But I always think that if a squad is small, then only the manager is to be blamed. You are probably right to say that he is in the same ball park as GR. Let's give GR a bit more time to see if we can steer the club forward. The small squad again really isn't his fault. Tight owner to blame for that. DJ went for quality over quantity, but in the Championship to stay at the top you need both. 4-5 decent signings in the window (maybe 2-3 loan), and promotion is a realistic possibility for the club. The club having 20 odds days before it ceases trading unless Ridsdale & Hamman can come to an agreement is not doing the club any favours, must be a right fuking nightmare given your all for a club so uncertain of its future, DJ has to motivate himself, then his players and try and keep the fans happy. Tough job he's doing at the mo. Still no better than what we've got though.

David Jones manages Cardiff. He somehow managed to throw away consiradable lead in Championship though, and his team has slipped to 4th or 5th now. He is a good safe bet for any team wanting to advance into Premiership and he wouldn't be good enough for the high expectations of Newcastle United. Not his fault tbh. Squad done in by injuries, and Cardiff have an even smaller squad than us, the coupled with the club on the verge of closure means it hasn't been easy for him at the moment, but i don't think he'd be good enough here, and would be in the same ballpark as GR.

Blatantly nicked from our Rob http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php/topic,34131.100.html

We should of brought in better, soft option, we took it. Would of rather had MON he is a different class to GR and we should of at the time made sure we made him our manager. Feeling a little more confident in GR at the moment, hopefully things will keep improving but i'd dump him as soon as a decent manager becomes available and wants the job, not just taking it for the coin.

Better the Devil you know? Not so sure. Real businessmen could turn take this club to the next level. That isn't my point. Possibly better the devil you know, possibly not. How could anyone really say that Belgravia would be better than Polygon or vice-versa? How could they possibly know? From what they've heard so far, and how things have developed between parties and the club. Some people have problems with hedge funds etc, some dont, some like the idea of being backed by a bank, some dont like the idea of a faceless company owning the club. Fans can still have an opinion about potential buyers even if they dont know fully what the buyer is about, and again another good reason why am asking. Every single person so far has voted for change, yet like me not sure what kind of change they are about to let themselves in for, but we all know its needed, and its about time the fans found out about the potential buyers imo, including me.
