I thought he was canny good at Juve. Got loads of stick though as people thought he was going to be the finished article after some great performances at his old club (cant remember, think Udinese). He was likened to a lot of great DMC's (i think at the time he was going to be the next Davids) you know how someone gets a label, but i think it was too much pressure in the heart of Juve's mid, but he still held his own, but was lampooned mainly for stray passes, and poor marking. Looked like he's regained his spirit though, and would deffo suit a move to the EPL. I's play him next to Parker, not very creative, but great for away games. How much would he cost? £4m?
  2. Couple of years younger IIRC. (19)

He was out of contract, and am sure we have a high sell on fee. If not were daft. So were probably daft, not the 1st time bluebiggrin.gif Certainly wont be the last blueyes.gif
  4. As entertaining as the EPL these days with so many big clubs desperate to return to £££ville. Not that i want to get over-friendly with it (if you know what i mean) but its a good distraction from our own shite performances week in week out in the top flight. Betting is great this year, i like to put a few £££'s on the weekends games, and this i suppose makes you take note a bit more, but there's been some suprises, and some gleeful moments. Sunderland's honeymoon is well and truely over (3pts out of the last 12 and 19th in the league). Keane is now finding the reality of the job in hand, and its not long until he kills someone. Birmingham arn't doing it (1pt out of the last 12), Gold & Sullivan are regretting the day NUFC forced them into signing bent nose on a 5-year deal to stop us poaching him! Hehe, a £10m contract, which he's not even half way through, nice pay off lads. Leeds Utd are 2nd bottom after their play-off defeat last season, which must still be stinging, imaging they dont pull it back round after all that hard work getting out of debt. Funny, i haven't seen a Leeds fan in about 2-3 years, lets keep it that way. But its nice to see Cardiff doing so well, epsecially with our own little Chopra firing them to the top of the league. Would be nice to see him in the EPL with another club, just to see if he can make it. Apart from them teams suprising in their own way, theres the dismal Norwich, who once looked so strong, theres Palace, Southampton, Wolves, WBA, all looking to return quickly so the league is looking very strong. That doesn't include the suprise teams, and the faded stars of yesteryear, i honestly think its harder to get in to the EPL than it is to stay in it these days. I would hate for us to be in this division thats for sure.
  5. Am signed up, its a good cause, i'll help as much as i can if needed.
  6. how about something straight to the point FAT FRED OUT The press wont call him Fat Fred, although i totally agree with you. Give the press the bait. Obviously the Chronicle wont go for it, and again, that would be another huge angle to go at as well. How bout... Free From Fred? Fans Against Fred? United Against Shepherd/Fred/or something like that. United For Change... I like the United part, as the club is so far from it becuase of the current board.
  7. Just a few ideas. A website containing pure fact about the man is needed. All the bad stuff, and a well written peice about those who are involved, as well as an equally good peice (in terms of quality) about Freddy himself. The website should contain membership as well as the ability to sign the petition. Inc a forum where members can discuss ideas, what they've done, and any advice can be given, show there's a real place for those against him to live, should build following, support and community. Members should promote the campaign as often as they can, you need a catchy name 'Toon Against Loon' (shite i know but) something people can remember, and more importantly, something the media can latch onto and use, like SOS (save our seats) The media are always after an easy story, give them it, but it need to build momentum first. The takeover talk is a great platform to use, as there looks like there could be a light at the end of the tunnel, more may join if they think they can achieve something. Again Belgravia should be examined, they should also be contacted once the site is up and running with members, they may feel they have fans support for a takeoever, and winning the fans is the part they need to get right. Is there anyway or one who could support small funding? (Like Brian May with manu against the takeoever?) Because as well as a catchy name for this campaign, a logo is needed, and that logo could quite eaily be made into stickers, and eventually badges, or some other way fans at the match can recognise each other without swinging from lamposts. The more people who not only know, but publicaly support the idea, the more chance you'll turn SJP, and the sheep, those who didn't want to cause trouble etc, will finally join with the movement, its always the same. If it ever got to that stage, which is where you need to be aiming, or the whole thing is pointless, then the media will be all over it, and FS will be feeling the heat, especially if Belgravia are kept in the know about what the fans want, are doing, and are trying to achieve. Just some thoughts like, but if i were going for it, this is how id do it. blueyes.gif

I think we'll draw with Pompy, but agreed with the rest. How can you draw in the Carling Cup? I thought it was a league game
  9. yes, get rid of him!! but what is the plan? Are we going to have a protest at SJP? banners? A website? Throw pies at him? What and when is it going to happen? Most supporters believe that Shepherd is holding the club back, and will never get anywhere while he is there, so let's do it and do it properly and get rid! Shepherd OUT!!! He'd think we all loved him if we did that.

    Glen Johnson

Yes. But is he not loaned out for the season?
  12. Take your time when reading this. Take time out and get medical advice, first you don't see comments from people which you later put down to having a PC which out-dates electricity, then you see my support for Souness which has never been seen before, by anybody else although I'm sure NE5 will back you up. You have some sort of problem, it's probably a medical condition but it would be worth getting a second opinion and the relevant treatment. Eh? You know how old my computers are? Listen Mick, give me your address and I'll GIVE you a computer for FREE that is only 3 years old. It's sitting in my garage right now with a big 19" monitor as well. That will still leave me with THREE home computers that are all under 6 months old. I'll even throw in the mouse, keyboard and speakers. Just a regular Bill Gates but with the heart of Geldof... And the eyes of Stevie Wonder.
  13. Its actually legendary. Wor lass would even be impressed.
  14. the remark made by HTL about lack of maturity, would be aimed at the likes of you. I'm sure you know best I thought it was a very sensible offer to this thread considering some of the utter shite repeatedly posted for 10 pages, not naming names like.
  15. I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts. Ta ha ee ha oh ha
  16. The Chairman's main job is to appoint the right manager. Robson aside, he's got every one of those decisions wrong. And as has been pointed out elsewhere, appointing Robson was beyond obvious so Shepherd gets no credit for it. If my gran had been chairman(woman) for a day she could have made the decision to appoint Robson too - it wasn't even a decision that needed making. Every time he's been required to think and appoint someone through his own thought processes, he's fucked it up. How many more failed appointments do we endure? He is getting it all wrong time and again, and the "well it could be worse" defence that NE5 constantly falls back on is not good enough. One dimensional thinking each time. Need to be better in defending, bring in KD. Needs to be attacking again as were boring, bring in sexy football Need to restore disipline, breing in angry-irate twat features who'll just make things worse. Need to stabilse the club without taking a risk, GR is appointed. Never thinking outside the box, never thinking of other areas, only the ones that currently has a problem. He's done a pathetic job, and will continue to do so.
  17. Now that's a good article. FS fucked up yet again this season by not buying a new defense. If he did, we'd be up at the top, and able to maintain it. His previous errors could be forgiven (but not forgotten) and the Souness era could have been buried for good. Instead were still suffereing without a defense, and will struggle to attract in the Jan window, and end up with another Boumsong style deal. That's if we've any money spare, if not, WTF were we doing buying Martins & Duff?
  18. The other flavoured ones never worked. Strawberry Jaffas, naaa.
  19. Don't let any fan under the age of 30 into SJP. You'll be left with a right bunch. bluebigrazz.gif Before 1992 mate, and currently among the vast majority of clubs that we have overtaken since - with the current shite board that has overtaken numerous better run clubs with better boards , there is plenty of room in the ground for people of all ages. But don't let that fact get in the way of your paranoia and naivety The young fans of this club is what keeps the money coming in, what keeps this shite board alive. I know older fans really hate being labelled glory supporters as the club bloomed on its return to top flight, but that's they way it is. The fact we've maintained the attendances & revenues since our return shows these glory-hunters have heart, and maybe were just born into NUFC a little late, or maybe the way Sky TV transformed the EPL in timing with our own revival made our boom more noticable. But dont let a good thing ruin a good old whinge. bluebiggrin.gif PS: I am Dave
  20. Don't let any fan under the age of 30 into SJP. You'll be left with a right bunch. bluebigrazz.gif
  21. 'it also breeds new supporters, and younger supporters who knew nothing other than challenging for titles and cups.' That old chip again.
  22. Harry Palmer , I missed him when he was on the pitch against Tranmere cos I got in late. Geordie Allowetta Harry Palmer and slap your lass with a christmas tree   My Fiance hates that song, especially the low bit at the end. (woahh-oaaah) i do sound like a right numpty though. Kept on singing it to her stomach while she was pregnant with me lad, she used to go nuts, i responded, "Well there supposed to like the Classics it makes em more intelligent"
