  1. Probably the best opinion on here since someone has actually seen him play.
  2. are you pissed? thought it was only me on a sunday night Think he means the title of manager for Alan Shearer. as i said "im pissed" I certainly feel more pissed now for reading the last few posts.
  3. Want me to reveal who your source is? Get a room.
  4. Of course we all want a better manager than current, and we all want someone with proven quality, but fact of the matter is, GR is about right for a club dying on its arse, and with no sunny immediate future ahead financially, he'll plod along trying his best with what trash he has. Nobody of any real quality would want to manage the shower of shite on the books bar a couple of decent players & deal with the constant harassment from the fans and the media. Shearer would at least get a break from the majority of fans rightly or wrongly, and he'd demand backing from the board. He'd also bring a much needed personality to the club, something GR is lacking, and is killing the connection the club has to its fans even more so than ever with his boring pre & post interviews and constantly banging on about injuries yet isn't making excuses for them. Most fans just think he's a clown now and cringe everytime he opens his mouth. I think we need Shearer back at the club, we do, but i'm glad we took a break from him as well. We needed to move on emotionally and we have i think, still haven't replaced him on the pitch, but you could say that is waiting to happen with Owen & Martins. I was carrying a lot of angst by the end of last season towards Shearer, the fact he was not doing his job on the pitch and was still being picked was really pissing me off for someone who is supposed to love the club so much, but thats done and dusted now, i think its time for his return, as a manager i dont know, maybe as a figurehead or as a coach, but then GR will know he's been fazed out, and players would quickly lose confidence, so he's either here and in charge, or not at all.
  5. Actually while am here. When was the last time Man City competed in Europe? (Not a dig, just am playing as them ATM in FM and was wondering) Didn't they play last season? No idea, its why am asking. There CO-EF on the game show they didn't or got KO'd instantly then.

  7. Give it to Pearson as long as he continues here. Excellent for him and for us, he'll get 1st hand knowledge on U21 players from this Country and abroad. He could take on lower league players and trial them for us, cracking opportunity.
  8. But you know there is a medical reason for it with Bernard, Babayaro is a c***, end of. Neither are good enough, and why the board allowed us to go into the season with that as our options in a vital position, we'll never know. Actually we do, Freddy wants a new jet. Thats it and there should be no room for sentiment about someone who was allegedly good once. The fact is the club had no options and it is likely to be the same this summer. Dont believe that top players are lining up to come here. No sentiment from this end other than it would of been nice to have the old Bernard back as Babayaro is that shite and permanently injured. Both need releasing in the summer, and two new LB's brought in. We don't have to go out and spend much, players like Nicky Shorey would be a huge step up for us, always playing (hardly ever misses a game, all the way through his career), done well and can cope at this level, cost Reading peanuts (less than £100k), and would be the best left back we've had here in a decade. Its just a shame he signed a new contract at the end of 2006 as it was up this summer like Sidwell. But am sure a £2-3m bid might tempt them to sell, no doubt he'll have a release clause in there somewhere. Also mid 20's, perfect age, still the best to come, there might not be a huge jump in quality to his peak, but enough to make him a target imo. This is just one example of a non name player who interests me right now, but he'd jump at the chance to join Newcastle. Reading have picked up loads of bargains, their whole squad probably cost less than Luque and Boumsong! Just shows its possible to shop in the lower leagues and get players good enough for the EPL. Am not saying Shorey is a worldbeater, or the same for Sidwell, Dave Kitson or Leroy Lita, but they are good enough to stay in the EPL, and for a grand total of £1.5m (£1m on Lita) these players would be doing a canny job here at the Toon. Backup to squad, filling in the gaps, its what we need to do, or at least get a manager who knows the talent below us, GR simply doesn't have a fuking clue, Barnes & Bale are the only two players he even knows of playing lower league football, while Nicky MAynard & Billy Jones are just waiting to be snapped up by EPL clubs. Edit: Billy Sharp, mini Owen clone, good backup for sicknote, £1.5m, be Owens summer wages.

    u21 game?

    Here comes 'The Hudd'
  11. He'd quietly do the job, get on with it, and enjoy his time playing at the top level and trying to improve. He'd want to play for us, he wants to play for Reading in the EPL, this club would be a dream for him imo. Although typical British player he's really solid going forward, excellent crosser from what i've seen on MOTD & SS1 this season (although admittedly not much, people do hold him in high regards) A little on him from SSN's http://home.skysports.com/player.aspx?plid=5750&clid=108&cpid=8

  14. La la laaa laaaaa! Better than babayaro, at least he cared. Bernard would play with broken legs if he could, Baba needs his brother to die to even play a game of football these days.

  16. on your two plus sides, one is a negative, and one is a normal element if you're going to insist on forcing new kits every 2 years Which is really ze point. It could be worse, but it could of been miles better. Also i should add looking from the pic in this thread the back is black meaning you'll be able to identify players from the heavens or on the TV, which is a mega plus point.
  17. Ok had a think about it: Plus sides: Central badge and Addidas logo. The swaping of B&W, maybe i'll miss the white now, when eating spag bog. Minus points: Blue on collar. Collar. Horrible sponsor logo, looks cheap. Pink thing. Not many stripes, two dont even go the whole way. The shorts are horrific. Socks are only slightly better.

We've never had the right balance. For ages we've had no real left winger, this is a major problem. We still haven't got a worldclass keeper, which you need time and time again in big tournaments, its ok in qualifying but at KO level keepers can make or break a game. We also have lots of short strikers, and the only one above 6ft is a total donkey in the air. No aerial threat surely makes our game very easy to read. The Gerrard Vs Lampard debate will run on until the retire, this is a major problem that really will never sort itself out.
  19. I think the new sponsor is worse, and the blue is pointless.
  20. I understand that, and thats my point, they altered it to sell, not to improve.

I hope we lose the game, it will be end of the mistake and hopefully England will move on. Mclaren simply doesn't have enough quality to do anything meaningful and is bascially the same regime, different name as last time. Sven without the sex stories.

  23. WTF is Shola wearing? He looks like someone off those gay ring in things 'want to meet gay guys in your area?' The half dancing gay pose doesn't help much either!
  24. Changing it for changing its sake. Well at least it should provide an increase in revenue for Freddy's summer holidays, i wonder which player we'll sign to mass sell it though?
