It's weak (the argument); designed to start the it's not FM retort. Cba with it.

Actually it's quite fun twisting things and being a cunt on purpose. I see why you like it.

I'm surprised you want us to spend premium prices on players who don't improve the XI, at the cost of not having a squad to cover all positions, having no youth players coming through, and wanted us to fail PSR by not buying young players and taking a chance and selling our best players as a consequence.
-
Howe spent £55m on a winger and didn't make the 1st team any better. Ashworth spent £8m on a winger and he'd be a 1st team player here had we not sold him, and had we not bought him, we'd have failed PSR. But aye, you keep gaslighting away. Do you not have any hobbies apart from act a twat on the internet?

Who said XI? I said squad. Stop making shit up.

The games in its bubble aye. But for progression, the in then out then in again nature of CL for us, and not a constant smooth progression in lesser competitions has done damage to the squad make up. Maybe it's more the fully out between CL campaigns, but just feels like we're chasing every game and making things difficult for ourselves, whereas some games where we can play a full rotated squad, give youth a chance, might have helped us progress the squad. CL demands our best players. So does the league. Awful domestic cup draws the same. Last season just the domestic comps, which doesn't give us much to play with in terms of testing out the squad apart from injuries.
-
I'd rather be us. But to belittle them to make a point is ridiculous.
-
Villa who are joint 2nd in the premier league, with 2 decent chances of qualifying for CL. Aye. Sucks to be them.
-
Winning the europa is not mid. Guess our league cup win wasnt worth it either.Much better getting knocked out at the 5th round of the fa cup than win a mid competition like the LC.
-
You can't say this this agree at spending £100m on 2 players who haven't added anything is good business. That's exactly the mistake we can't afford to make. £15m on a player and in 2 years we get £10m back, or in Osula case make money on is exactly the mistake we should be making.
-
It's a balance. We need to do both. We need more squad going into a European season. When were out, we focus on quality of xi to get us back in. It's a very basic formula, but I think it would have been a better one that what we've done. It's a shame we didn't just get europa. You get to use more of the squad in that competition than all guns for CL. I wanted CL to keep our best, but one left anyway. So rather see us go for the win in europa, blooding squad in earlier games. We've been cursed by rock hard cup draws again, so it's best team needed at all times. And aye FAK, agreed. Their academy is class, and why I've been disappointed so far at lack of facilities as its an easy win and creates a legacy. Even sunderland £6m one 15 years ago is better than ours. Tragic really.

All ambitious clubs deal in flipping players. Chelsea are masters at it. It's something we've got to get right, not ignore. It's very short sighted to think you can rule this out as we're above ir. We're not. It'll pay for premium later down the years.
-
This absolute living fucking legend fit then?
-
The squad building vs improving xi is wrong. We built the squad at xi prices. We can't afford to do that. That's where psr kicks in. But he doesn't want to admit that, probably to not throw players under the bus, but it would admit the club have got it wrong.
-
Don't think anyone would moan about spending £100m on 5-6 players who are gambles to pad the squad out. It's the hyper focus on specific players who've then added nothing in return, when they are premium price. We can't afford to spend £55m on a player and not play him. We can afford to do that on £15m players (easier to sell on as the loss won't be as significant), and what we should have done this summer. A £15-20m punt on a young ish FB this window is just what we need. Give some cover for tino and hall. Hall breaks down again and it's season over as the knock on effect on squad covering and tactical setup will be too much to cope with. Osula was a £15m punt. Hasn't really worked out and talk of doubling our money. More of that please.
-
£75m to spend this window, and £200m in 2026. Not sure psr is to blame for us not making moves. It's a nice cover though, keeps the heat off the recruitment team.
-
Relatively ambitious. It's a cheaper brighton/Bournemouth model, who have been doing it for years. It's nothing new, worked out OK for forest even with deductions. They've had a pop and it's worked. Fair play. Rather see that than another Burnley, treading water and expecting relegation. But buying to sell is not really ambition. It's playing the psr system, rolling the dice and seeing if the gamble works.

There very little genuine excitement in the game now. For me, Darts is miles ahead of it for fan engagement and excitement.
-
This might have shaken the complacency out of him had it been done months ago when it was a problem. Now it's just a joke. Howe is probably scared he loses him if he does that, but Christ, he'd not be a miss, as we've been missing him for a year now.
-
No. It'll be the likes of Bruno, Tonali, hall and tino which leave as they are sick of carrying players who aren't good enough and not seeing the club progress on or off the pitch quickly enough.
-
Hopefully his agent can cherry pick some stats like this and get him his big club move in the summer.
-
Naa. Was a fan of him coming in, and had his back, I wasn't one of those who hated the signing and never taken to him. It's been quite reverse for me, and it's down to attitude. Ever since we explored options to sell him to Liverpool he's been shite. He's selfish, arrogant and toothless. Now and then turns it on for England and CL games, but plays like we're beneath him, when the reality is he offers nothing. I'm not the biggest fan of Barnes, but how Gordon gets the left position over him is one of the sickest jokes inflicted on us this season. He's barely good enough for the bench nevermind 1st name on the team sheet, and that's what Eddie seems to believe. I've had enough of him. I know as soon as I see his face what I'm going to see. He can't cross, can't beat a man, doesn't even cut inside with conviction, usually take a touch too many or goes too far in. He switches off, doesn't track back, and has a red card in him when you need him most. There's absolutely nothing there, and hasn't been for over a year now. That's not form, that's his level.
-
Can't stand him atm. Just seeing his face makes me want to turn over.
-
I'd drop all wingers. 3 upfront. Wissa, Wolt, Barnes. Wissa & Barnes can drop onto the wings for a bit of width, Wolt can drop into mid to close the gap. Need Tino & Hall fully fit though, so need another FB. Sell Gordon, Elanga & Muphy in the summer.

We'd have been better of getting DCL on a free.
