  1. Reckon it'll be Carrick as caretaker. Probably do OK as well.
  2. Caretaker till the end of season.. So a complete reaction to his interview yesterday. Amazing.
  3. That looked much better. Murphy though. Wonder if we can put Wissa on the left, wolt in the middle and barnes/Gordon on the right.
  4. Ref waiting to rule it out. Desperately asking in his ear what can we grt them for.

He had a career threatening injury and hasn't reached the heights he was at before, then picking up another problematic injury on return. It's more than just he's been injured. He's a long way off his best, we might not even see it due to his contract situation and deciding to cash in the summer. BTW I hope not. I'd be trying to nail him down now using his injury status as leeway and play on loyalty. Could go either way for us, so we're taking a risk.
  6. If Howe went to Chelsea, it would say a lot about him and burst a few bubbles here. He won't though. I might disagree with some of the thins he does on match day and question his transfer strategy, but I'll never question his integrity. He's not going to that shit show.
  7. I don't see Kobel or Trubin struggling with the physicality of the league. Diogo Costa maybe, but he's probably the best footballer of the 3. So he'd be the gamble, but the most to gain from. (shopping at Harrods, I know)
  8. Aye but its one of the easiest things to see with your eyes. You know a small keeper is going to struggle (extreme example - but physical players are represented in all leagues). You don't know how a keeper is going to handle the pace, pressure and quality of the league. Those are the unknowns I think you gamble on.
  9. Agreed in general, but Keepers are different. Physicality shouldn't matter as much. Think mama hasn't shone because he's in the shadow of one of the world's best and the bar is high. If he was here we'd be having a very different season. Ironic that I'm wanting a Dubravka vs Manure instant impact of a keeper, and he was a no one, on loan, and bought for less than the loan fee for Ramsdale.
  10. It's not as easy as taking a keeper relegated twice in a row on loan, granted. Benfica/Porto keepers should be looked at if Dortmund's is beyond us. We've spent £55m on a winger we didn't need, £40m on a player we already have. £25m would get a good keeper in Europe, £55m top end nails it. That's the point. Money went in the wrong places, again.

Was brilliant, a while ago. Big 6 months for him, sure his contract ends in 18m as well.
  12. Guess that's him done now, unless Pope picks up an injury. I'm hoping the fee wasn't mandatory, and its just £5m down the drain and not the full £25m. Think for that money we'd get a top class keeper from Europe.
  13. Protests outside celtic park. Things you love to see
  14. Oooh, some amazing boos there
  15. They did something, might not be the physical kick off manu fans did, but there was something going on. I remeber the apology from John Henry. He doesn't do that without real pressure from the fans.
  16. Manur & Liverpool fans pretty much rioted at the idea of a breakaway. They'll do it again, and many more. Really do hope its the death of american ownership. Worse than anything Saudi/State owned have ever done to the game.
  17. Alcoholic kind of mood Lose the derby, ready the lube Cruising for a piece of fun Look out now its three one Different tactic every night So Rangers, outta sight What a gas What a fucking ass

You'd take 20, like we took 13 for longstaff, but you also know the buyer is getting a bargain. Shame. That loan spell. Christ.
  19. So either we get closed leagues forced by the 13/20 PL American owners, or they fuck off. Hopefully massive kick offs from the fans like last time. But you can just see the hangers on voting to close as its great for them. Won't even have to try and still pick up their tv money.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

    No one wants them.
  21. One thing we seem to miss out on (no doubt someone will prove me wrong) is we never seem to play a team at the right time (manure away was that last month and we didn't capitalise) Think this is the weakest palace have looked all season. Lot of chat about their captain, manager and striker, plus results are tailing off. Should win this one.
  22. Never said CL form. Some decent football or a little winning run would be nice. And again, it's this month or not at all, as tron has pointed out, we've got a load of tough away games coming up. An identity. An execution of a plan. Maybe even a backup plan. Making decent subs at the right time. Stop throwing away points. Control a game. Stoop shitting the bed when we take a lead. Stop playing the same players who are letting him down game after game. It's not a high bar. Certainly not entitled or deluded. It feels directionless (and maybe he's got sick of picking up the slack the mess the club has made in the boardroom and that is now impacting what he does, even his energy levels) Yet this month coming up can go a long way to correct all that, and that's all I'm saying with now or never. If it's not this month, this season fades fast. Then I feel it'll be kicking he can down the road for a mutual departure in the summer. We're easily the most underperforming team in the league this season. You could argue wolves, even they should have a few wins (probably 1st against us no doubt) but we are poor by the standards you'd associate with us, and especially Howe.
  23. Well it is. If he doesn't get the wins with this months fixtures, the club will be looking at a new manager come the end of the season. We'd be out of both domestic cups, and at best have a play off in CL before being dumped out next round (I'd still think that would be a successful CL campaign not judging the domestic comps) He gets the wins and it sets up the season and we have something to play for. He's had all season to turn it around, so far we've seen little sign of it. This isn't a blip, we've been poor all season and the back end of last one as well. You can't keep under performing and burning through winnable games and expect to stay in a job. The season is at the halfway point and at a crossroads. This is a massive month, it could decide not just the fate of the manager, but a lot of the players as well. Decision may already have been made with his 99.9% comments, and could explain why the players just aren't performing for him. That aside, it's crunch time for us and him.
