Maybe. Certainly hope so. But doubt it because I was told from the same source that CH would go this afternoon and that wasn't a false trail. Well I presume the lawyer would have also had to deal with Hughton's severance too. I'd imagine that if it looked like we had planned to appoint Jol, Ajax would want a couple of million hence the need to cover up our intentions until the last minute.

How about Pardew just being a false name in case there was a leak?
  3. It is a fact that Hughton had put the club in a significantly more secure position than we were when he took the reins. It is a fact that he had got every key player to play at the best of their ability. It is a fact that he transformed a youngster who looked like failing into an England international. It is a fact that he created a team ethic that we haven't seen for years. It is a fact that his transfers in the Championship helped secure our promotion when we were running out of steam. It is a fact that the only money spent on our Premier League team was spent on one of the best newcomers to the Premier League and the best defensive midfielder this club has had for years. It is a fact that we beat Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton away, and put over 5 goals past Sunderland and Aston Villa. It is a fact that recent bad results have coincided with injuries and suspensions. It is a fact that if we had done much better we'd be in the European places. It is a fact that there was a club statement over the summer stating that the club should not be expecting an immediate challenge for Europe. It is a fact that Ashley and Llambias are the biggest idiots ever.
  4. Taylor was obstructing Krul's view trying to go for his own heroics.
  5. Yeah, certain regions would benefit for example African nations are likely to team up whereas European countries would be going against each other.
  6. Harry-Norway was spot on about Hangeland like
  7. Redknapp says Keane will go to the highest bidder and not a loan. Worth going for?
  8. Well its said European teams can't bid again until 2030, and I presume if no bids can come from the Asian or South American confederations either then it is North America or Africa. I'd love to see a Carribean joint bid. Either have a single West Indies style team as a one off, or have 5 team groups, or have a Carribean qualification group that leads directly into the World Cup.
  9. We probably won on Legacy of the 2018 lot to be fair.
  10. Regardless of the strength of either nation in terms of being able to run a World Cup, both clubs fall very short in terms of human rights and racial acceptance, and should have therefore never been accepted as bidders.
  11. Thailand and Japan are favourites. We are playing Thailand in a friendly next year, and the keep hiring ex-England internationals as manager.
  12. I never thought there would be anything more spectacular than the Nicky Butt overhead kick. Then Qatar got the World Cup.
  13. England and Thailand then. And we gave a friendly match to Thailand.
  14. Time to create a rival to FIFA? Maybe call it Pro Evo.
  15. One would have been Thailand as we pushed a few incentives their way and their guy loves the English.
  16. Nope, but Round 1 England knocked out. Round 2 Russia hit winning total of 12 points.
  17. Utter rubbish. Nope. So... we shouldn't have sent such key figures? The Prince and the Prime Minister took away from the football feel. Just felt a bit "glitz and glam" with little substance. Do they really care much for football? Really? That Man City worker was the most captivating bit. Beckham made a lot of sense too I guess because he's had a great career all over the world really, and has a lot of pull. It won us the Olympics!
  18. Utter rubbish. Nope. So... we shouldn't have sent such key figures? One of the most justified facepalms in ages. It was the same tactic we used with the non-corrupt IOC and we got the Olympics.
  19. isn't it the people who accept bribes for votes that 'don't help' ? Obviously. But all the accusations etc that got leaked by our own press did not help. If they've been bribed, it wouldn't matter what the press said. Would the Spanish and Russian media sources run the stories as much as we did here? Essentially, FIFA will see our country as a grass - this is our punishment. If they think this is retaliation to our media, they should wait for the media's retaliation. Be afraid FIFA be very afraid.
