Id say Bassong and Beye are more important, maybe even Jonas and Guthrie aswell. By playing for Metz, Mallorca and Bolton Wanderers, they certainly did a better job at keeping us up than Alan Smith.

Well Maldini has the legs of a forty year old and he's still playing for AC Milan.

He's not supposed to have the greatest fitness record, if the worse happens it would be a waste, so is a bigger gamble than people are making out.

Say Ashley doesn't want to spend any of his money on the club, but no longer wants to sell. Why doesn't he take out a loan? Would pay off in the long run imo.
