  1. I'd rather just not take loan players in general unless it's with a view to a permanent signing or we're in realistic danger of relegation. Pointless to take on a player who isn't even ours just to move up from 12th to 8th or something. Would rather give our young prospects playing time. Absolutely So disappointing not to get the forward we needed in, but Bendtner was clearly not what we needed. Similar to what we already have and let's face it if he hasn't featured at Arsenal during their recent crisis then he must be way off the mark. So few forwards moved yesterday - even those who appear to be surplus to their teams needs - Crouch was probably the best forward to move and that is really saying something.
  2. Just read the agent quotes. Yeah, trust the agents! Any testicular tingles today ?
  3. A very good piece of business.
  4. See that strange macum who spends half his life on a rival fan site is spouting off again. Everything he has ever said on here has ended up being total shite. With fans as daft as him it's no wonder they have Bruce as their manager. Anyway it's still unlikely Crouch will go to sunderland, if he does it will only be because he's offered a deal even sillier than the ones they handed to o'Shea and Brown. For a club on a downward spiral and being managed by someone who sounds like he's lost his marbles they seem to be playing a very dangerous financial game.

    Alan Pardew

Spot on. Sure I read this somewhere before as well, not sure if it was in the paper or somebody else on this forum mentioning it. He certainly sets his teams out very well and has achieved results when up against it due to players being out. Plenty has been said on here about him but fact is that Pardew has a very good reputation within the professional game and maybe we are starting to see why that is.
  6. I think Bruce has now lost any remaining bit of credibility as he tries to find more excuses and defies facts in a desperate attempt to convince the mackems that their plummeting downward spiral is not his fault. Things are more to do with the hysterical storm created by north east fans than reality he tells us. Yeah alright Steve - like 9 home defeats in 11 and relegation form for almost a year now would not be a big deal anywhere else in the country. His team is not ready/bedding in/unlucky/ - take your pick - and he's now criticising his sub standard strikers too. Errr... you've had several seasons a full close season and tens of millions in transfer money and huge salary contracts to try and get it right Steve. Might it not have just a little bit to do with yourself ? His obsession with and failures against Newcastle are written off with the funniest excuses of all. Admit it Steve - you just f***ed up - and two different Newcastle managers have now taken you to the cleaners. Not satisfied with churning out excuses after the derby games, his obsession now carries on into subsequent fixtures, reminding anyone still daft enough to be listening to his rants, that his team dominated the game and should have won. Keep believing it Steve and while your doing so keep ignoring that it was only the most blatant piece of cheating and inept refereeing that saved you from more humiliation rather than just another defeat. Amazingly there still seem to be people in control and fans at Sunderland who are falling for it and he may be given even more money to waste while he sees out his mega contract extension.
  7. Flight numbers as well. Now that's some serious ITK s***. ;D
  8. I see Bruce is putting the sunderland crisis down to the way north east fans blow things out of proportion. Obviously losing 9 out of 11 home games and displaying rank relegation form since January would be deemed acceptable and hardly raise an eyebrow in other parts of the country.
  9. It's a bit unfair to give Bruce all the credit for whats happening at Sunderland. It was Quinn who hired him and then gave him a mega contract extension after all.
  10. Lisbon,Rome,Milan,Frankfurt,Barcelona,Zagreb,Belgrade,Brussels,Munich,Oslo,Palermo,Budapest,Athens,Bilbao,Monaco,Zurich,Turin,Kiev. Just a few of the foreign cities Newcastle have played competitive European football in. Tomorrow the macums are playing a competitive match in Swansea.
  11. and being so shit doesn't come cheap either.....
  12. Compare last night's fans at a competitive match in smaller numbers, to some of those who preferred to attend a friendly match at Darlington and caused problems for us all. Last night was real support and thankfully minus the drunken bandwagon jumpers.

    Dan Gosling

Getting 70 minutes of a competitive match in for the first time in a couple of years will have helped him a lot and he will get much better as match fitness improves.

    Alan Pardew

I'm not a Pardew basher but his inability to get the team playing from the back is a concern. He won't keep his job if he persists in playing Allardyce football with a team increasingly made up of French footballers used to technical football. I'm being generous in assuming he's not got good enough full backs to bring the ball out, but his GK is kicking balls long to the centre forwards as well. And as Tooj pointed out in another thread, Swansea have worse players yet still managed to play nice attractive football. The opposition tonight had a lot to do with how we played, credit to them they pressed very high and forced us out of our stride. Don't know if it is a small pitch but they made it look like one. Premiership teams won't do that to us but of course will have more ability to hurt us. It's a fair point but how often do you see good sides forced out of their stride? I've watched Man U, Chelsea, City and Spurs and their players don't get rushed out of their passing game. You could say they are better teams, but we were two divisions better than Scunthorpe on paper. I think if Pardew picks the right players and gives them confidence to play like Keegan did for example, we'd see improvements quickly. We did beat them at the end of the day mate, and deservedly so. Lower league teams have been upsetting us (and many others teams too) with their gung-ho approach to cup ties as long as I've been watching football. Just glad we showed strong character and prevailed this time, but credit to Scunny they did a good job on us first half.

  16. Throw a fit and hopefully rejuvenated Ben Arfa into this team and it could be very good to watch.

He was smart to bring in two Geordies, who bleed black and white like the fans, as his coaches - much better back up in the dugout that the fat Geordie lad down at Sunderland has.
  18. Good old cup tie albeit refereed by an idiot who looked like he was straight from the Gateshead Sunday league. Good character shown by the team to come back on a difficult night and useful, run outs for players who hadn't had a game so far. Krul just seems to get better each game and Colo was...... well just Colo. Cabaye seems to be getting used to the English pace and Marveuax and Sammy were positives. Taylor's free kick - sublime.
  19. How that bitter macum bitch is allowed to get her anti Newcastle vitriol into print and actually get paid for doing so is a mystery of modern day journalism.
  20. The rabids will be horrified at the thought of another Ameobi coming along to take the piss out of them for the next ten years.
  21. Has the magic carpet officially conked oot yet or is it just getting a bit threadbare ?
  22. Very generous gesture by the club to give him a free, but as someone said earlier if only West Ham and QPR have shown interest on a free basis then there probably wasn't a fee to be had. Good luck Joey - hope you find the sanity to go with your obvious intelligence one day.
  23. How much is the contract Quinn recently handed to Brucie worth ?
  24. Thread title needs to be changed to "Lets all laugh at Sunderland"
