  1. What is signing for QPR just for the money, if not lack of ambition. Pot,kettle, black.
  2. Went into the january window needing a striker to partner carroll. Left the window without carroll. 8 months on Lovenkrants and Shola one of the first names on the squad-sheet. Dunno where you came from but I wish you'd fuck off back there. Newcastle supporters are perfectly entitled to be critical of their club players etc, but you smell of mackem or something else. Your recent arrival and attempted subtle digs are so blatantly piss taking.

I sort of agree but will players see it that way? Players see things differently to hysterical and snidey internet creeps. So far they seem to be right behind him based on performances on the pitch which is more than can be said for the fat Geordie lad down the road who looks like he's lost the dressing room already, Do you sort of agree and think the Sunderland players see it that way ?
  4. Spot on. Probably not even 10 mins required. So there's little or no chance Ashley overlooked it? My take on this, pure conjecture of course, is that had he just been rich and the sale price represented a big part of his wealth he'd have been a lot more careful uring the due diligence period. As a mega wealthy person who was in a hurry to push the deal through, and it representing a mere fraction of his wealth, it was overlooked, ignored or even considered not that important. Incredible I know, but it's difficult to come up with any other explanation for the oversight when he had some of the country's best accountants on his payroll.
  5. It is. Also agree with the point you made in other thread regarding scouting and the apparent breakdown when it reaches MD or CEO level (i.e. whatever Lambias is) It obviously requires a considerable amount of nous to get deals done when a club is reluctant to sell, and unless there is a technicality involved, it seems to be something Llambias is lacking in.
  6. I know. You'd think he'd have had the decency to arrange a friendly this week so we could have all gone along and kicked up fuck when it's still a hot issue. Baastard.

I was thinking more along the lines of Keegan, has experience from his Fulham days and messiahtastic qualities. There again he might not get along with the owner. Aah well never mind.
  8. Ashley may have made a few stupid and unpopular football decisions during his tenure, but it would be hard to argue that he hasn't considerably improved the financial side of the business.

Maybe we need a director of football to handle the transfer business while Pardew gets on working with the team.
  10. You're deluded if you think Bendtner is better than Best and Ba. I think I could make an argument for Ameobi too. Deluded is a tad harsh? Will be fun to see how he does. Seems to be rated quite highly by some, not at all by others. As I've said before, I think he'll prove to be very average. I quite like Bendtner but he has been so far away from a place, even in a faltering Arsenal team, that he must be way off the mark. Smacks of panic after even Crouch turned them down. We've already got players as good (and considerably cheaper and we own them) and Ba is much better. Mackems will take to him for a game or two like he's the new saviour before turning against him big time when he hits a bad patch.
  11. Problem was during this window no strikers who were really wanted by their clubs moved. Possibly Ruiz but he went small league to big league. There were plenty of discards to be had Crouch, Yakabu, Bellamy, Bendtner etc. Christ they only moved for Bendtner because Crouch turned them down again - he must have been absolutely desperate.
  12. Red Bull Newcastle ?? It's got a certain ring to it. Perhaps when Ashley sells up............

Don't feed us bullshit about getting players in 100% or key players staying then. He should shut his f***ing mouth. He may have been assured from the higher ups that we were getting players in, so he thought what he was saying could be true? Perhaps he shouldn't have said it, I don't know. That's not going to lose us points though is it. If you believe that we'll maintain this start then fair play to you, but I can see things turning very ugly this season. Players have come out saying that they've been treated like s*** by the boardroom, fans are sick of being lied to with apathy being set in, St. James Park is supposedly being used as a billboard and made to look ridiculous with the name of the club brought down... It doesn't take much for these things to snowball out of control. I can normally roll with the ridiculous punches that this regime has thrown out, but it's starting to wear a little too thin for me now. The stuff that's happening with SJP is a complete joke, making us a laughing stock, there's no two ways about that. I'm not a fan of Llambias or Ashley at all, but I just don't think Pardew has done anything wrong really. There's only so much he's able to do with the cretins above him, but as far as I can see he's doing it well. We've got a good new full back in, and still have Ben Arfa to come back, who'll most likely become one of our best players. I think we'll probably finish 9th-11th in the league, which wouldn't be a bad season, will probably depend on what happens in January though. i'll tell you what he did wrong. his phone rang.... someone told him that nufc were gonna push out chris hughton at the next opportunity and asked if he'd like to become the next person to pick the team, that he'd have no say on incomings or outgoings and that no matter what happened he wasnt allowed to question the running of the club in public in any way. then he said yes, i'd like to do that. he did that wrong. I'm sure that's exactly how the phone call went. neither of us knows, would you care to offer a more likely account of the negotiations? given what we were told by golfmag and what's actually been going on since he arrived. Given that most football managers are lined up before their predecessor is removed (and Pardew certainly was) and that no one is ever employed without agreeing to the conditions determined by their employers, what golf mag said was a bit like me saying that it's going to rain next month. Factually correct but hardly stellar insight.
  14. His opinion is a valid one. You may not like what he has to say but he's been closer to the regime than anyone on this board which gives his views some gravitas. I know his opinion is a valid one, I just don't agree with it. And whether he's close to the regime or not is irrelevant to my criticism, Barton should keep his mouth shut whether he's right or wrong. Where has keeping your mouth shut ever got you? I proudly participated in chants of SOUNESS OUT repeatedly at SJP and I'd like to think that helped to get him sacked. You're a fan of NUFC, that's fine. Barton is a professional footballer who plays for QPR. There's a lot of distance between those two. I'd disagree, I think Barton is a fan of NUFC too. Firstly, I still believe that players, while loyalty is dead, feel some sentiment for clubs they play for and probably want them to succeed if they aren't f***ed over by them. Secondly, I believe him when he says that he felt an affinity for the place, not least as he has become less of a volatile, crime-happy vagabond at NUFC, and likely (or so I would hope) appreciates our patience with him. Keep believing that, but IMO you're 100% wrong. Footballers are all twats that do what is best for themselves. Joey's choice of club despite his agent claiming "many top clubs" were interested, says everything about what motivates Joey Barton. Man of the people my arse, just another greedy money grabbing bastard I'm afraid, even if he does like Morrisey.
  15. One person said it. Wonder how this season's post deadline day desertions compare to the previous seasons in what is becoming a predictable if somewhat hysterical reaction to a sale or lack of signings. Are we up, down or about the same ? Who will gain most this time, Gateshead, Whitley Bay, Man City, the Metrocentre.... ?

    Bryan Ruiz

Just another part of the Sky transfer deadline hype. Nothing of any substance from any valid or credible source but thousands falling for it, raising their hopes and then becoming hysterical when a non-story was proven to be a non-story. A stitch up really. Amazed at how much guff was spouted yesterday in relation to what actually occured, still I'm sure it did Sky's advertising revenues no harm.

I think it goes a bit deeper than that Ian, doesn't it? The fact he was lined up for yonks beforehand and has a history with the two stooges doesn't aid your point. Nor does it help that if it was a Manager with no links or an ounce of integrity they would have f***ed off by now. The best we can hope for? Perhaps. Sad none the less, don't you think? Well bearing in mind that he's working under conditions that some managers couldn't, I think he's a good option for us. I genuinely like him as a guy and think he always goes out to win and tries his best. The fact he was lined up for ages reflects badly on most of the people involved, seems worse because Hughton was a nice guy who didn't deserve that treatment. But from Pardews point of view I can see that he couldn't turn down such a good opportunity. But I don't agree he should walk away, and I f***ing hope he doesn't for our sake. If he did (which he won't because he's too strong a character to walk away) he'd suddenly become a champion to many of those who'd previously criticised him. A bit like it was with Hughton. Ludicrous really.
  18. Exactly, I think barton is a scumbag, have for years but I agree with everything he has said and I hope he continues to speak the truth. If I was Neil Warnock or a QPR fan I'd probably hope he'd just get on with doing what he's being paid (very handsomely) to do and stop trying to come across as some kind of superior phoney intellectual.
  19. As if Bendtner would stay longer than a season in that dump. Tore Andre Flo.
  20. I've read it before, the club were in a bad way but could have turned it round by reducing purchases and getting rid of a few players like we had in the past. We broke the bank to get Owen and that was a mistake. That doesn't excuse from the mistakes and f*** ups that Ashley has made and how he has made the problems more difficult by how he has run the club. I cant beileve we are back to freddy shepherd now, hes been gone 4 years Freddy wasn't about when the club was relegated. Unfortunately he hawked off a lot of the club's longer term revenue streams to finance his marquee signings such as Luque,Boumsong and Owen. Just the type of signings that would have had us salivating last night I'm sure. Due to that financial insanity the club is still not making any money from said sources, so sadly 4 years down the road the effect of Freddie's live today pay later policy is still evident. So yes he is still a significant factor in what's going on. Don't believe that at all, the accounts last time showed that with the sales we have made and the wages that have been reduced we should easily be making a profit. Two different arguments. I was replying to a point made about our why our former fuhrer should be mentioned in reference to what is going on with the business today.
  21. Apparently it's being replaced with a "FUCK YOU GEORDIE CUNTS" sign.

  23. If it wasn't for Ashley we could be like Liverpool. If it wasn't for Ashley we could be like Everton.
  24. Have fun getting relegated. QPR have the richest owners in football and they sign Shaun Wright-Phillips....ambition? Regardless of ambition, I've been disappointed in the lack of imagination in Warnocks signings. Not unlike the type spending Brown was doing at Hull when they started sinking. Seems more intent on making a spending statement than considering the overall affect they'll have.
  25. Looking at the stats on your sig if we'd landed him yesterday for £15M there would have been great delight. He's a good player and he'll come good for us, already looked more settled and positive in the last game when he came on.
