Superb today again. Ice cool and mentally very strong.

I can't understand why Bruce persists with their long ball game, although having watched Titus Bramble for many years I know he instigates a lot of that, as opposed to our defenders who if anything, can on occasions, pass it around too much. When we use it we have the right players for it, but their front two just can't play that game. Bruce is a good bullshitter but not the brightest of people.

I may be losing my grasp on football but after seeing about 5 or 6 of their games this season can someone please explain the Jordan Henderson hype to me ? What is it he does ? Is it speed, getting past defenders, goal scoring, passing - I'm trying to see what it is he does to get talked about so much, but I just seem to be missing the point ??

Theres no doubt that Steve Bruce would have walked over broken glass to get the Newcastle job and privately he concedes that coming back to the NE to manage Sunderland was a very inferior consolation prize. I'm glad he went there, he's a man of little professional integrity and will never be able to manage a big club. SAFC and Bruce go very well together.

Perhaps David Milliband could make crowd disorder, regular pitch invasions, attacks on opposition players and racist abuse at the Stadium of Light his first priority when he starts his new job.
-
He's had a couple of stinkers this season but did very well today. Seems to be the one who gets most stick on here nowadays but overall he's nowhere near as bad as some say and generally since he came to the club his contribution has been positive.

Funnily enough I just love the guy http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=558666 His wife was in the pub I watched the game in with kids and I think his brother and wife. Kids are young but wondered what they must think as the whole place goes mental as daddy scores yet another goal against the macums. :celb:

Agreed - Bruce's rants about revenge and piss taking songs this week made the post match violence much more likely. He was very unprofessional. This is not an isolated incident as it happens every time we play at the SoL and that's now two successive games where they've confronted/assaulted opposition players. With talk of knives and other weapons being easily smuggled into their ground the authorities MUST act before someone is killed or seriously injured by the Sunderland fans.

Now that was a Geordie manager the mackems could trust. Top bloke.

Been feeling ok all week, but seeing the likely teams for the day I reckon they shade it in a couple of areas and I'd be surprised if we get anything from the game now. Our hope is that the fat Geordie lad's manic rants will backfire putting added pressure on his team and I still think we edge it on "big game" players. Even Loevenkrands who offers very little nowadays will bring a lot of "hostile derby" experience to the table and will be another good lad to have in the dressing room for this one. -

He's acting irresponsibly and should be held to account if there is trouble/pitch invasions etc. Alreet Benwell lad? Not bad weary. Rumours that he was hounded out of his north Newcastle local last night ?? Wants to start behaving like a professional and not like some wound up punter.

Almost praying for trouble that lot. It's got a lot to do with the irresponsible way their manager has been talking. You'd think a so called professional would know better. The FA really should confront him about some of the things he's been saying in the press which are designed to make an already difficult situation for the police even more volatile. Not sure I've ever come across a more bitter poster than Benwell Lad. Last time you had a pop it was because I had the audacity to say that if we get anything near our strongest side out I think we'll nick it. You said that was arrogance and that I must think we're Barcelona or something because your home record is so good. I'll stick with my original statement and for what it's worth I do think your manager has been behaving unprofessionally with his loose comments and that it's put more pressure on your players and has not helped the police's task either. Look at your posts over the last 2 weeks or so man, you're just embarrassing yourself. The suggestion that the FA should look into Bruce's comments just because he might play a f***ing song at the end of the game is quite frankly comical. I don't think highly paid club staff should be making antagonistic remarks before a "high risk" fixture. Especially when he prefers to live next to those he's trying to wind up. A better manager would be saying what he needs to say to his players behind the dressing room door, not blurting it in the press. Highly unlikely the FA would act anyway - they always seem to turn a blind eye to the predictable pitch invasions every time you get a big crowd. Thanks for reading my posts anyway. I'd probably pack in if they weren't having the desired effect. -
