  1. Essentially he has come from spending years at a club in the league above Blyth Spartans and is quite insecure about where he is now. He wants to be liked and thinks that behaving in a non league manner is the way to achieve it.
  2. If we have almost the same squad as we ended last season with then we're not in a bad place. Kenedy and Dubravka sorted, Lascelles and Lejeune looking strong, Shelvey and Diame on top of their game and Ayoze fulfilling his obvious potential. We looked excellent at the end of the season and while nothings a given you know that Rafa wouldn't let their standards fall. The loss of Merino while disappointing, after his early promise, isn't really going to impact as he hardly featured once we started improving. The unity and desire the team showed was amazing and while Rafa will not want to risk upsetting that, two or three decent signings and replacements for those yet to leave will put us in pretty good shape for next season.
  3. Isn't the Don supposed to take the stance of "The fee is 10 million or he stays. We don't need to sell anyone. We have a budget which would be the envy of Championship clubs" rather than bend over in desperation and take peanuts for one of their best prospects ? These chancers are peddling one thing but delivering something very different in reality.
  4. Somewhere they had a thread titled "West Ham 66 Sunderland 18" Now apart from the facts that England actually won it in 66 and West Ham had 3 players in that team rather than two ex-players who fucked off to greener pastures as soon as they could, they're absolutely spot on. They really are something quite special Also quite apart from the fact that three out of the five England penalty takers alone were Spurs players . And we scored our penalties. Of course I haven’t read the thread - it occurs to me that they might have considered Rose to be a Mackem too. Sorry mate but Rose is theirs and some of them are claiming Welbeck too. That's four Sunderland lads in England's world cup winning team of 2018. Not bad for a third division club

  6. Just the usual red and white stripes but with a new club crest which depicts a dog in a pram.
  7. It never will like The last two years has surely taught us that. 12 months from now they will be the massivest ever club to play in the fourth division and "our fans" will be patting each other on the back as their 50 pound season ticket sales pass the 10,000 mark.
  8. The lower they sink the more massive they seem to become They get a little more desperate and a little more embarrassing with every passing day
  9. Why didn't Short just give them away to someone from Gateshead or Spennymoor or South Shields ? Why did they have to go all the way to Hampshire to find a non league joker to make fools of them ?
  10. So basically they've come up with some cheapskate, typical non-league plan to save a few bob and used Charliespeak to translate it into "engaging with the fans"
  11. Seems the bipolar fuckers can't make up their minds whether any given player (Honeyman, Asoro etc etc) is going to be world class or shite and best got rid of, depending on what The Don or some agent may have tweeted at any given moment Certainly getting a bit like 1930's Germany down there where any reasonable or moderate voice of dissent about the new regime is rounded on and silenced by the mob.
  12. The Don man Just when you thought it couldn't get any funnier down there this pair of clowns roll into town
  13. Bloody hell that piece is scathing ! Basically says his PR company is not quite as great as the bluster, if it exists at all. Paints a picture of him as a serial blagger and concludes with "The patting of empty red-trousered pockets is the drumbeat of Methven's social life". We trust the Wearsiders will take the Thatcher worshipping smoothie chops to their hearts. Haway the lad! Well after saying Newcastle supporters are arrogant they most certainly have
  14. The Don resorting to telling porkies on Twatter because Peterborough outbid them. A bit embarrassing for the massivest club ever to grace the third division don't you think ?.
  15. Yeah, hope they're not still feeling fatigue from the world cup final
  16. Probably two ways to look at it. Premier League football like a lot of other over hyped sporting occasions, concerts etc has become very expensive whether you watch it live or pay some broadcaster. It's a real shame when it pushes some people over the edge and they no longer find it affordable. That said, while this hike in prices is not good news, watching Newcastle is still pretty good value compared to most other Premier League teams and concerts etc. You didn't have to be a marketing expert to realise that after a season of selling out almost every match easily, and being the only PL club in the region, that they'd try on a price increase. Having held prices for a while and offered all kinds of longer term deals also meant that when they did go up it would hurt. I don't even know what deal I originally agreed to but it's meant no increases and I have a good seat which I doubt I'd find for less at any other PL ground. To anyone this pushes over the edge I'd seriously recommend getting into the local non league scene, some brilliant little grounds and great atmospheres always with a canny bar right next to the pitch. And of course there is a local lower league team who are virtually giving season tickets away if anyone fancies that
  17. stood aside man The Don has tweeted saying they weren't interested despite it being widely reported they were before he went to Peterborough He's learning quickly
  18. The Don seems determined that they're going to be ran like a non league club
  19. While they're busy backslapping themselves and telling the world how massive they are they're failing to notice that both Burton and Barnsley, as well as several other clubs in the division, are probably better equipped for that league than they are. Even though the Don, Wearside Jack and "our fans" are now recognised as the greatest things in football ever, I can't see much rational logic which indicates they will walk it next season. But there again mackem logic is a very special thing.
  20. It's June man, they're always full of it at this time of year
  21. Yep, and some ! Got to hand it to smooth talking Charlie like, he's got them eating out of his hands
  22. It's quite easy to forget just how massive a club they are unless you keep abreast of what they are saying about themselves.
  23. Wonder why a big Scottish club or an ambitious Championship one didn't fancy the St.Mirren manager, who according to them is destined to be the new Alex Ferguson?
