  1. How much are season tickets in the platinum? Around £880-900. At least they were when I was in there. Are they generally available pre-season or likely to be sold out? Don't think you can buy one as they are bonded (unless you buy the bond as well). If the bond holder doesn't take the season ticket up they are only made available on a match to match basis. I think. With some kind of plan and last season's 10% they can come in not much over 700 quid. It's very reasonable if compared to buying match by match where they can be nearly 70 quid! Absolute rubbish that it's the "shittest part of the ground". It's an excellent view and better seats etc. Sure the demographic is different to the Strawberry Corner but some of the oldest and most loyal fans are in there and when it comes to atmosphere it pretty much ebbs and flows with the rest of the ground depending on what's happening on the pitch. Ah cheers - I hadn't realised that was the case with the bond. I thought the bonds expired after a period of time tbh. I'm debating buy four for my use and for clients to use. I had looked at a corporate box but given how much use it would get I can't really justify the cost. More importantly, I'm really uncertain about paying such a large amount of money with Ashley still in charge as the minute Rafa leaves I'll be back to hating everything NUFC again. Ashley is just too volatile for me to be able to spend that volume of money. As I said I think that is the case but probably best check with the club. It may be that some of the seats were never sold as bonds and perhaps they are available for season tickets ?
  2. ...... and you DO still get a free programe fwiw

  4. possibly couldnt about AJ for legal reasons? Not really. Well not after the verdict anyway. It was said that they were shown police evidence early in the proceedings but chose to carry on playing him. After the verdict they released a statement pretty much saying they would be making no further comment and Byrne took a fall. Thereafter the press and the FA hardly asked a question about who actually knew what or why they continued playing him despite the weight of the allegations. Them now making a huge thing of what was essentially an ill advised off the cuff remark seems rather strange in comparison.
  5. Really strange how the press never really took the club and it's management to task about the way they handled the Johnson situation where an under age victim was abused, but see fit to make a huge song and dance about something as trivial as this.
  6. Ill chosen words but really has UKPC reached a level where almost any kind of banter or joke between sexes can be be analysed and deemed inappropriate ? Talk about kicking a bloke when he's down.
  7. They are a club that clearly needs relegation and change the whole club. They're £180m debt. Relegation is the last thing they need! If they go down they aren't doing what we're doing and coming straight back up either. Yeah it may, and probably would have been, good for them a few years ago to break the downward spiral of a wasteful transfer policy and changing managers every season. It's too late now. Their hole has got a whole lot deeper and it could be a long painful period without the premier league cash.
  8. yes but they relegated us, worth more than anything to them It would be funny if the Boro match relegated them.
  9. Could imagine it being tasty if they come up against Roofing
  10. There are so many good things about his game and he is a very intelligent player too. However if he doesn't acquire some grown up ruthlessness soon he'll not make it in the PL.
  11. I thought it was evident after a couple of games this season that the standard of the league is higher than last time. It's probably the way the game has evolved with the PL being the magnet for world stars and the fall out of that will be better players playing one league down. Also coaching methods have progressed even in that short time - small nations seldom get trounced anymore because they have devised set ups to stifle superior opposition and this is something we've encountered in the league this time. Last time some teams were beaten before kick off as they looked around SJP in awe during their pre-match routines. It hasn't happened this time - they're just a lot more professional. Not taking anything away from Chris Hughton he did an amazing job with great dignity but the job Rafa has done this time with a squad which lost so many senior players at one time probably shades it.
  12. Yep. A bankrupt, second rate club falling into the second tier after hanging on by a thread for years. Barely worth mentioning.
  13. wasnt Marco hinting last night,( not sure only heard it in background) that they could go into administration, and fall further down the leagues? I think its been evident for some time now that they are well and truly fucked financially.
  14. See they were mentioned in the latest edition of Private Eye. No, not any searching questions about what went on during Johnson's last season but about the sacking of the programme editor for austerity reasons. It mentioned that he actually won awards for their programme every season for the last ten years, and at the same time a bunch of highly paid losers were swanning around Central Park and attending basketball games on an all expenses paid jolly.
  15. Zero ambition to do so. Barely willing to keep SJP looking decent. not sure if that is serious, but Goodison is a shithole, (sorry Everton fans I know it will have emotional attachment) way past it's sell by date and not fit for their purpose any longer. St.James' is a wonderful stadium with arguably the best location in England. Why would any sane person want to move from there ?
  16. I think the area around St James looks superb nowadays especially at night when there's a match on. I about a decade it has changed from a fairly dingy part of town into a modern, vibrant and aesthetically pleasing (imo ) quarter of the city.
  17. Hasn't he got a really long deal at Sunderland for his age though?? Can't see West Ham offering more than a one year deal, especially now he's stopped scoring Couldn't see him going anywhere on a one year deal, although being on a free and taking the signing on fee which would have been his transfer value may make it possibility.
  18. The terms he could negotiate on a free would certainly soften the blow of relegation for him They must have been desperate to include such a clause. It's almost a financial incentive for him to be relegated
  19. Could that be why they continued to play him and only sacked him at the last minute despite being made aware of the evidence against him ?
  20. Don't see the point of all that spirit and endeavour really. Why not just get someone to turn the floodlights off, get the game replayed and save yourself the bother ?
  21. Why on earth would anyone want to fly a plane over there because they'd been relegated? It's something smaller clubs with an inferiority complex would do if a big club or their bigger local rivals went down but hardly something anyone would do because Sunderland finally get what is years overdue. Getting what they deserve for the way they're behaved for the last few years and knowing their financial predicament probably means the downward slide will continue should be quite sufficient without resorting to childish pranks.
  22. It's outrageous and people are rightly giving them loads of shit. £37.50 for Ipswich on Easter Monday isn't much better either mind and no-one seems bothered for some reason? It's outrageous bordering on immoral and the football authorities should act. Lazy football club can't be bothered to police or steward a huge away following but still want the revenue. Simple cut the allocation and increase the prices. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Hypothetically they could charge 100 quid a ticket and a certain number would still go. They'd still get the revenue without the inconvenience of accommodating away fans. It has to be stopped.
  23. Really good to hear. So far everything about Woodman indicates that he has a good chance of making it. Perhaps Rafa is taking a bit of a special interest.
