  1. He has the talent and movement to do the job and has shown he can finish. However to succeed in that role he needs to be more ruthless and look like he is taking it seriously.
  2. Can't wait to see that low trajectory drop kick 80 yards straight to Gayle, or the 60 yard throw straight to Ritchie on the wing. That part of his game is class like
  3. I don't hate anyone because of who they support. It's football for God's sake let's keep it in context man. Reserve your hate for people who truly deserve it. I also don't have to imagine being a Mackem, I am one. It's pretty much the same as being a Scouser, a Geordie, a Smoggie etc. We are only what we are by an accident of birth. If you were born in Sunderland you'd be a Mackem. If I were born in Newcastle I'd be a Geordie. Anyway...we were terrible on Saturday. We surely have to flush this year We're led to believe you're a very frequent poster on RTG, so although I agree in principle with your views, your time preaching the anti-hatred message would be much better spent on your own forum where it is much more prevalent than it is on here.
  4. Imagine living your life constantly thinking about your local rivals? the banter that sima is having in that thread. That thread is just vile. I know Sima is trying to be rational with them but what's the point? If you were in the same bar or place as those inbred fuckwits you'd just give them a wide berth, not try to engage with them, so why bother on a forum? On a brighter note Terry's Chippie is back on there today. Class!
  5. Wouldn't be so sure about Hull. With Hernandez back they may have a chance. Credit to Hull, they do play some decent football and have been quite unlucky in a few results. Even Swansea try to play the game properly. Sunderland are incapable of playing that way, they really have nothing, setting up defensively with no midfield creativity and only able to punt long balls over the top hoping Defoe can make something of it. The fact that they went three down early yesterday, were completely outplayed and didn't make a single substitution speaks volumes about the dire state the club is in.
  6. mackem describing Rodwell on RTG today. This time I really did burst out laughing  "He was shite today, like a dog trying to f*ck a balloon every time he got the ball"
  7. In this latest wannabeahooly thread there's a tale of them stabbing a police horse many years ago when they were rioting on the pitch. link? https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/ive-met-some-truly-mad-sunderland-supporters.1291980/page-52#post-24623754

  9. Whichever way you look at it last night was an unexpected bonus for us. Only if we take advantage of it with our own results, of course.
  10. See they've got yet another "old hoolie" thread running on RTG (yawn). As you'd expect it contains the usual "2 of us onto 60 mags" type stories which seem to rank alongside the "mag at work" and "mag on a horse" classics in mackem folklore
  11. Considering the amount of money they throw around to attract players at this level, you'd think regularly servicing their generator wouldn't have been too big an issue ? Most people will be glad to see the back of them once they've bought their way out of the league, which is a shame because they were a decent bunch before the sugar daddies came in.
  12. Could set a dangerous precedent. Used to quite like South Shields, but their sleazy approach to winning things will make it fun to watch as they crash when the sugar daddies get bored with their toy.
  13. 17K for a Saturday afternoon FA Cup tie against Premier League opposition. Do they not do the free tickets for cup games ?
  14. The way this is playing out I think it's quite obvious that Defoe and his advisors want out of Sunderland, whatever the eventual outcome may be.
  15. Nice article and amongst many quotable lines this one stood out for me. "There can be no guarantees, but what would be the point of football if there were?" So true!
  16. Visiting most other stadiums around the country validates that point emphatically
  17. If the option is keeping a disenchanted player until his contract runs down, in their financial plight they'll have to sell.
  18. He's a top pro, playing really well, but at an age where he knows he has just one or two seasons left. He's at a club who are skint, with an owner who wants out, a manager who admits he made a mistake going there and who exist in a never ending relegation scrap. He knows he could end his career in a much better way than playing in one of England's most depressing towns.
  19. We seem to be hitting a lot of woodwork at critical times and having men wrestled to the ground in the area going unnoticed at the moment, whereas Brighton seem to have had a few crucial penalties. Will that change? Or is it just black and white eyes anyway?
  20. I became very concerned after loss number 6. More the manner of it and what it said about the team than the actual number.
  21. Sammy is an unusual player, that lanky frame and dribbling ability makes him awkward for defenders. If he can score away at Tottenham surely he has enough to be an impact sub in this league ?
  22. They recently decided that attendances weren't important any more. However that will most likely change today and there will be a dozen or so threads patting themselves on the back despite thousands of ftm's padding the crowd out.
  23. This is just the sort of game that wretched Sunderland teams have bizarrely won in the past. Massive gulf in class but if you could choose any time to play a top side it must be best around the holiday period.
  24. I think anyone would agree that reasonably priced tickets and even a number of free tickets for deserving causes is no bad thing. But that is very different to giving away thousands of free, or ridiculously cheap, tickets every game because your stadium is too big for the fan base. All that will ultimately do is piss off those fans still daft enough to be paying for full price tickets i.e. their core client base.
  25. Thing is, it seemed like it was the only thing they had in their locker and they were crap at that too!
