Apparently Everton want Cornet aswell.

It's a selling club window, in our case especially. All clubs want to get their business done early but it rarely works out that way, especially with flair or attacking players. If your willing to pay a bit more and give clubs what they want you can get deals done but invariably you will overpay. We are setting our stall out this window and it will dictate everything going forward. We have to be patient as it likely means as we have probably seen, we will miss out on players because we want to show clubs and agents we won't be taken for a ride or pay more. So much time left in this window. If everyone did their business early there would be not last week and deadline day madness. I am fully confident we will get another 2 if not 3 in. There will be plenty of players thrown at us, more available and loans to utilize. We will want our primary targets but I am sure there are other options too.

Big Joe doesn't do friendlies. Not quite Colo level though. He was immense again. The way he holds up the ball and finds a pass in tight corners is fantastic. We had some pretty good link up play in general tonight. A high quality striker with pace would really help us.

Fun game. Was loving Pope's distribution again. Poor for the first goal though. Mighty Miggy. Hope he can transfer this form into the league. He and tripps worked well together today for his goals. Botman is fantastic. Thought Burn was great up until the last goal. Was expecting him to recover and he just didn't. Jonjo looked reborn, strange to say it's a huge blow that he will be out for a while. Big Joe and Bruno had good games albeit with some sloppiness too. Happy for Bondswell. Looked just fine but not spectacular. Murphy is still poor. We need that new striker and winger. Wood shouldn't be our only backup or even 2nd choice.

Yes. That gave us a leg up with selling clubs as they got a big wedge from us that they could use straight away. We were an outlier in that regard as you say.

Howes quotes are spot on. They will do whats best for the club and for Anderson when the time comes. He wont be getting shipped off until around deadline day if it happens. He doesn't count towards squad size and is obviously a talent. With 5 subs, unless we sign two more wingers and a playmaker you would have to think he has a shot at getting minutes with the 5 sub rule. If we have some significant additions come and minutes are limited then he will go out on loan. No rush at all though. He has looked good solid so far.

I'm fine with Ritchie and Dummett staying provided they aren't taking up squad space. They are obviously good characters and experience along with Fernandez. They can't be at the club on the playing side past this season though.
