  1. Oh well. This only confirms that Ashley had him lined up for weeks and waited for an opportunity to stab Hughton in the back. Hope Pardew suffers the same ASAP, as the shitbag was in on it all along.

  2. How can you throw Duff into the 'selling club' idea and then say we didn't sell Colo or Jose because they're on big wages and were shit at first? That's Duff all over! Except he was shit right the way through his NUFC career.

Someone was daft enought to pay for Damien Duff, and/or he was willing to take a wage cut. You can't sell players if no one is interested in paying their wages. Is that too difficult to grasp?

  3. Ashley has sold players like Milner, Given, N'Zogbia, Duff, Beye and Martins, replacing them with the likes of Routledge, no one, no one, no one, Simpson and Best. Looks like a selling club to me.

I'll choose to credit you with enough sense not to really be suggesting we could get relegated and retain all our players.

He ignores the fact we retained Jonas Jose and Coloccini. Arguably 3 of our best last year.

Oh, right. We're not a selling club unless we sell everyone.

Also, both Coloccini and Enrique were considered flops after their first season, the former also on a massive wage.

We sold those players to get save money on the wage bill when we got relegated.  What's the point of buying high profile names to replace them when we were in the Championship and no idea if we were going to get promoted?

No, Milner, Given and N'Zogbia were all sold before the club was relegated.

  6. I just love this idea that we're a selling club as we've sold one player who wanted to leave after relegation. Can't believe I'm even bothering entering into a debate about it. I'm out!

We can only sell players we can find buyers for, and no one will buy players who can demand ludicrous wages, like Alan Smith.

  7. It's going to be Pardew because Ashley and Llambias are consistently stupid. Appointing Hughton full time was stupid as well; a modest and inexperienced manager with little connection to the area is probably the last person you'd expect to turn around a recently relegated squad with low morale. They just had tremendous luck with him. Sacking him was just as stupid, of course.

  8. @TheBig_Sam: "Sent over a fax to Mike Ashley, with the words "no fucking chance I'm coming back" written in my own shit. I can't have him getting ideas."

  9. Premature, harsh, etc.

If there's anything at all positive to take out of this, it's the decisiveness shown. The first crack appeared against Bolton, and it widened significantly yesterday.

Sacking someone after only a dip in form isn't "decisiveness". Also, keep in mind that none of Ashley's decisions have been any good, so decisiveness, if that's what you insist on calling it, is hardly a good sign. Indecision is what made him appoint Hughton full term in the first place, and it's the only good thing he's ever done.

  10. This is the best thing to happen since yesterday to nufc. A clean break from an immature manager.

Ofcourse the worry is that ashly wants someone to manage without any extra transfer fees.

You think that's the biggest worry? Are you the dog pictured in your avatar?

  11. Caulkin: "RT @JacquiOatley: Spoken to an ex-player who says Alan Pardew has had a job lined up for a few weeks. We'll see. #NUFC >>please no."

The rumours about Pardew have been circulating for a couple of weeks, haven't they? And considering he's a) incompetent and b) a cockney, Ashley will obviously consider him the right man for the job.
