Firmino's fishing man, he pops up when they need him time and time again
-
sheesh firmino
-
adama should have kept running with that ffs

as much as i hate wolves, it's really pure jealousy of them with having a proper owner, manager, and ambition. would be totally fine if they beat liverpool today. would also not care if liverpool win either.

wish we were a mediocre 5th place

My guess is he's probably going to be our first choice RWB who then cover further forward in the wide positions. I'd rather see Manquillo or Yedlin play RWB as a sub with Lazaro further up if it meant Atsu wasn't our plan b winger!

They are either not wanted by other clubs or are happy to run down their contracts. I reckon they'd have to take a ridiculous pay cut for other clubs. Colback is on 60k ffs. Ya - these "fringe" signings need clauses in their contracts to protect the club or allow for them to have a triggered pay off of some sort that can at least be a 1 time tough hit to the club, but free up wage bill and spots etc. No player would agree to such clauses, otherwise they'd be commonplace. clearly nobody has been creative enough to craft such brilliant clause, one day!

Newcastle United v Oxford United 25/1/2020 FA Cup 4th round

I'm not even sure if Carroll and Yedlin are fit; post Everton i saw mentions of them being available at the weekend and also mentions of being 2-3 weeks away. smoke & mirrors by Brucie -
the shit policy in place for ages (pre rafa) and that has now returned under the transfer warlord Nickson (aka Carr 2.0) hopefully will have less of the random AF signings of Colback, Lazaar and Saivet of the world. It's strange to me that we aren't paying them out of their contracts or selling them for nothing to get the fuck out of the club and off the wage bill.

we get it Yorkie. Recruitment stinks, no plan, etc.
-
Feel like some matches you need the passing of 1 or both of Schar and Lejeune and sometimes (like the case of the Chelsea home match) having 3 of our no-nonsense defenders (which is a little harsh on Fede who is completely underrated on the ball) playing.

Agreed with the hopes for him; absolutely rated him when he was the main man at Ajax. Often picking that team up on his own and getting the results - thought we'd finally signed a really good #10 with intelligence, leadership and goal scoring ability.
-
Miggy would light it up in Germany

Man United need to bring on all their defensive subs to get 2 goals in 2 mins
-
Aye, i thought it was a penalty for us and a handball or something as wel

I really respect Waugh's opinion and his commitment to interacting with the subscribers - we've genuinely had some really good dialogue and PMs on Twitter discussing all things Newcastle on and off the pitch (business side too) and he really tries to thoroughly answer everything. I'm hopeful he's enjoying this gig at Athletic because it's easily the best sports platform I've known in some time. Between the plethora of articles on different teams, tactics, historical events, etc. to the Q&A stuff.

Few things I noticed regarding our equalizer: 1. Sean Longstaff won that free kick at half field by just diving into an Everton player and winning that FK. Pretty awesome. 2. Fede did what you always want a player to do in that position, LASH it at goal and see what happens - post, save for corner, spill by Pickford, deflects into a goal-line scramble 3. Hayden's shot thankfully not hit over, but Calvert-Lewin heads it directly to Lejeune who does a jumping scissor kick

give it a rest, KaKa[/member]

Hahaha - i got misquoted for the girls aloud one. ffs, made me laugh my ass off. I commented on it, and Waugh apologized.

what i love about the athletic (not on the content) is that you have a genuine dialogue with the writers. I have had a chance to interact with Waugh and Caulkin multiple times and do really enjoy that back & forth with them.
