  1. played the sport my whole life and studied the game. lived in the usa my whole life and fell in love with team - despite each season that ends in dissapointment i still look forward to every single match, every single news snippet, every single moment the team is mentioned I get excited. call me a plastic fan if you want, but i've supported the team best i can from florida every season and will continue to no matter what happens. i may not be a geordie, but i love the black and white...shoot me if you want, but i'll never leave and never lose hope and faith that a trophy can be brought to this club one day... and one day i'll have enough personal money to make a trip to newcastle and watch a match in the stands and live a dream i've had since i fell in love with the club.

    Emre

Aye, I think you all were mentioning the person who speculated about Emre and an injury...I was the one who wrote it and I heard it on Setanta by the match commentator if I am correct..."..and we are being told Emre may have been withdrawn b/c of an injury to his hamstring..." or something like that. It was early in the morning after a night out but I'm sorry if I confused anyone! My bad all...hope I'm wrong and my mind played a trick on me...
  3. Carr and Butt were repeatedly wasteful with time and space. Beye will solve that issue with RB and Barton needs to play for Butt, full stop. Emre was breath of fresh air. He kept the ball moving, passed it about, and will hopefully stay out of trouble and (injury - proving all is right, heard he had a hamstring problem? can anyone confirm?) Owen looked to have a major bounce in his step after he scored. He had one chance where he muffed it wide, signs of an extremely rusty finisher, but no doubt will put that away when given a similar chance. His leap for the header was amazing - his positioning in those situations are immense. Would love Martins to come back and add a bit of pace and fire to our front line, with Keegan, he will only get better. I've kept quiet about these parts for long enough, and I'm looking forward to joining the banter.
  4. Since when Shearer signed...He was my fav. player since his title season at Blackburn and his England success...didn't care much for any clubs until he signed for Newcastle. I fell in love with the club and it hasn't died or faltered since. Born and raised in the states, used to catch the odd match on the backyard satellite that was HUGE. The matches started coming on ESPN during the week nights so I was lucky enough to see quite a decent amount. I've visited England and wasn't able to make it up to Newcastle, but I plan on it very soon - esp now since I have a great job and some $$$ for a trip and a match.
  5. pretty good read about Martinez. http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/raiseyourgame/pages/roberto_martinez.shtml

    Souness On Sky Now

i worked front desk at a ritz-carlton in the states 2 years ago- Mind you, this interaction with him was AFTER he was sacked.. he came in with his family. lovely family, wife was class and he was, not going to lie, one of hte nicest people i;d ever met while working therte. He asked me If i watched the world cup at all, told him I watch the sport more than anyone I know over here and he laughed, asked who I supported, club wise. I told him to guess, he smiled and said "MAN United" and I laughed and so No - and then I told him, "Mr Souness, I know who you are- my uncle used to travel to Liverpool to watch you play." So then he said, Liverpool? I said No....NEWCASTLE United. Kid you not, the man was smiling, lost his smile, and his head sunk. Looked down, almost embarresed, as he knew I knew who he was and what he did to the club. He then said, You know, the Chairman wasn't a football chairman, he was a businessman. He got involved too much, and made too many rash decisions. Said Mickey was a fantastic player, but was hurt. Said Shearer was a great man as well, but closer to ending his career. Said you lot were the greatest supporters, but things didn't work out right for him. But he continued to mouth off about Shepherd for a good 3-4 minutes. Basically saying the same stuff. I sensed he was throwing excuses at me...but hey, at least I know my sudden encounter with GS was priceless, I right told him i was a Newcastle Supporter and he looked as embarressed as hell.
  7. Perfect Opportunity for Harry to have Big Al as an assistant and learn the ropes. that would be something i'd like- but highly doubt it. To be honest, I don't even know if I care who it is anymore, just want it resolved and want transfers in.
  8. Screens for you all... Martins walking off at half-time... http://www.cypressridgeoffice.com/shamir/martins-setanta.jpg Match view... http://www.cypressridgeoffice.com/shamir/45mins-setanta.jpg Sound is great, the picture sometimes will pause for a few seconds and I've had to click the different feeds a few times. NOT as smooth as I would like it, but no true complaints. I thought Martins missed that bicycle btw, haha. I went nuts after!
  9. i had choice from 300k and 450k for the bitrate....
  10. So I bought it today and decided to watch whatever was on there... I must say it was pretty sharp to be honest. The picture quality is decent, it does the trick. I was happy with the sound quality and at 450k and 300k the picture and sound were fine. I had 0, yes 0 buffering problems on my terrible internet connection, but maybe thats due to the fact that not many people will be viewing wigan play rugby? don't know. But I am welll looking forward to the match tomorrow, it should be great to watch. Let me know if you all have any questions..
  11. Yah, sadly my appt complex has internet "provided" for us - in other words its prob included in the rent. Its about 350-400k speed. Sad I know, so my internet won't support ITVN's speeds. Paying 30 more for cable-internet then 15 a month for ITVN wouldnt be smart for me. I bought the setanta broadband, watched a bit of the on-demand programming it did just fine for me. I'm used to never seeing the matches and just listening to them, if I can just get a tad bit of picture Ill be happy. I'll be watching the Bolton match tomorrow and I will try and snap a few screenshots and review for you all who are on the fence for it. Madness, what we do, to get a chance to watch some of these matches.
  12. Don;t know if this has been posted, can't be arsed to check all the pages... but after a quick google search and wiki link... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geremi_Njitap "Geremi Sorele Njitap Fotso, usually known simply as Geremi (born December 20, 1978 in Bafoussam, Cameroon) is a Cameroonian footballer contracted to Chelsea in the English Premier League. However a transfer to Newcastle United is immenent. So the media reckon but then again, what do they know? Oh by the way it is imminent" I laughed pretty hard when i read that...wikipedia is usually good at editing these back and making them look decent...or so i thought?
  13. and you lot said he didnt have pace...man can outrun gunmen/bullets...too soon? all jokes aside, thank god hes okay - thats terribly scary. He needs to turn his back on the nigerian team, cant say id play for my country after i was shot at in my home town.

    David Rozehnal

despite some of our poor signings from back in the day, i did like hearing about players ive never heard before either. it made it a little more exciting, but hey, heres to hoping his guy is worth it. finally get some solid defenders in.
  15. Keep Oba Martins. He has the heart and WANTS to play here. 17 goals in his first season, sporadic play, wasteful sometimes, sometimes bloody brilliant. with some proper coaching and better system/tactics/teammates he will only continue to get better. hes cheaper than owen, and wants to be our no.9 and wants to succeed. hes got heart, determination and he does it with some pride. you can tell when you see him on the pitch, no matter how bad hes playing, he never looks like he doenst care.
  16. how can any of you justify a players reactions like that? I dont care if the gaffer tells you are shite and won't play. never do you walk out on your teammates or your club b/c you feel like you should be starting. You cant just understand b/c the club is run so poorly - you get on with it, you dig deep and work yourself out the rut, or you shut-up and sit your arse down. dont care if your 16,22,or 34 - you never walk out on your teammates and your club. if you have a problem with it, you go to the chairman and let it settle out that way.
  17. i like inter's sponser on that shirt. looks smart. anyone know what colors our away kit are supposed to be?
  18. the more i look at the site for nothern rock the mroe i feel like they would be putting northern rock **rather than** northern rock all of their branding has it the first way mentioned - but as NSG has informed us - i guess they may have some odd marketing folk? Well, heres to Friday
  19. So far so good to me...Socks are diff, something new. Reminds me of a modified version of predom black kit with sir bob minus the adidas stripes on the top of the sock.
  20. sorry for double post...but isnt this the first kit since grand-dad collar that has white stripe dead center? the old thick stripe, predom black shirt had the black in the middle and 2 whites outside. at first glace this shirt looks like a "classic" style shirt. but I highly doubt it will be a classic style one.
  21. the pink square makes no sense to me. and im not sure I am a fan of the black oblong on the front or panels for name and number. im a big fan of just placing them on the shirt. when watching the match, im pretty sure you can tell the difference between solano and dyer and martins and nzog and taylor and huntington etc. interesting to see the rest. im sure we will see socks tomorrow or maybe shorts. i guess the last peice will be the rest of hte shirt. but who knows.
  22. ya sorry i didn't mean to make it sound like i was such an arse. im just sayin.... wish they wouldnt be such pansies about this and just show us the damn thing
  23. Those mockups arent entirely acurate as the Milan shirt has a black stripe in the middle and we have a white stripe.
  24. oy lets get another good mockup...not mspaint, haha!
