Why? Technique is rarely something which improves in the middle of your career. It's something you improve before your a professional. There's a lot of things players improve on from the ages of 22 onwards but technique is rarely one of them. I wouldn't particularly say it's a strong opinion anyway. Not asking him to suddenly turn into Sergio Ramos, but my read on his ability on the ball is more to do with his lack of confidence with it (nerves) than his inability to pass or trap the ball. His mistakes and misplaced places look more like someone who is still learning how to play his position to me. But anyway, who gives a fuck, stupid argument. I think hes 22 and his all around game can improve with the right attitude, work and coaching (+Rafa) and that includes how he distributes the ball (be it more confidently side to side or up the pitch), how he uses his size and strength to defend/tackle, and how he contributes on the other end of the pitch....all on top of continuing to develop as a leader for this club.

He could very well continue to improve on the ball while becoming a better all around defender at his age.

I say 0-2 or 0-3 to Newcastle. We'd have scored more vs Stoke on another day, and same for West Ham. Think we'll play better than we did at Swansea as well.

We'll have to see how Mbemba does over the course of the 1st of the season, assume he's really the 1st choice, Clark the 2nd choice (when Lejeune is fit to play CB) and Gamez is our 3rd choice. I bet we'd see Clark play LB sooner than Gamez as well. Lejeune just simply didn't play at Swansea because he was coming back from his injury.

Different game tbf, we'll probably have to be more expansive against Brighton than we were against West Ham, Swansea and Stoke. For this reason i wouldn't be surprised if we don't look as organized. Which is why dropping points wouldn't surprise me. I really don't agree with anything you just said

If we play as organized as we have the last 3, then we should be taking 3 points at Brighton. I'd go unchanged for the starting 11 here.

If he continues to look as solid as he has the last 3 matches, and he stays fit, I don't see how he isn't the first choice going forward.

If they backed him FULLY we'd likely not have lost yet this season IMO. Very least 3 more points.

First choice LB IMO.

Keep playing him, on another day (and maybe another team he was playing against) he'd have put 1 or 2 of those away. I really like him, brilliant in the air, keeps us ticking, works his bollocks off too. I think we're going to look better with a big focal point striker like him or Mitro this season tbh.
