This is the kind of performance I remember from him when we finished 5th. In a team playing well and together he comes in and his confidence and ability shines through. I think he'll be slowly eased back into the team.

Not at all... playing hard and showing desire isn't the same thing as playing well. You'll have hustle. You won't have composure and control. I'm not talking about hustle alone. They absolutely tend to be far more compact and defensively stout against teams who can move the ball and score. Whether it's good enough is another question, but some of the best performances of the past few years have come from defend-and-counter play against top teams. Good luck to England in their group. I'm not going to be some miserable fucking bastard and go into their thread and talk about the current state of their team. Debuchy should probably be the main guy on the edge of box trying to get any scraps for the volley. I was absolutely over the moon we signed him and then began to question if he was really all-that, esp after City this season but he's proven his true quality each week. He's fantastic and I really enjoy and appreciate his desire and nastiness to his game. He's a fighter and shown a hell of a lot of pride since then.
