Wonder if he's still with Miss Newcastle, she needs to have a word.

    Douglas

Few times I saw him play he seemed genuinely good enough. Better than Willo the very least.
  3. That bit in bold is hilarious and anguish rolled into one.
  4. Nothing will ever, ever match that fucking crazy week in January man. Went from Remy celebration, to Remy madness/anguish to that ridiculous week of signings and bliss that included beating Villa (barely) and that Chelsea home match. this fucking club.
  5. I've always liked Gomis, he's a beast of a striker in terms of strength. We've literally been linked with him for fucking ages - like years even.

    Darren Bent

Of course Ashley wouldn't cough up a fee, and of course we'd not sign the bloke back. He'd probably refuse to wear the sponsors shirt Don't know man, Tiote is Cisse's best mate and not 1 single word from him on this and seemingly fine with it. All of the others seem OK as well.
  7. He always struck me as a real down to earth kid, obviously he's got a very eccentric personal style, but really like what I hear from him when he speaks to the press - very thoughtful and low-key. Hope he continues to develop for us - he's an immense talent.

if we lost Cisse, I'd fucking love Ba back man.
  9. Thought the total amount including the Ashley "debt" is about 135-150 + 100M so roughly 235-250 all-in.

Didn't Villa blow up the team that he was signed into? Not sure exactly...

    I'm with Disco here.

If he was to be signed for us and our current strikers were left still intact, he'd be the 2nd best striker on our books. SO, if the top man is Cisse and he's sold - then being "stuck" with Bent is a much better option given his performances in the PL leading up to this upcoming season vs. having just Gouffran, Shola and Adam Campbell. I agree. And while many of us would love to sign someone of better quality than Cisse or someone like Benteke or Lukaku who's an all around beast, Bent isn't like signing Carlton Cole. Bent's probably far better than Cisse is in the air and being physical with less of the magical that Cisse has done for us.

    Darren Bent

He won't score if he gets s*** service like Cisse did last season. Of course not, and nor is he an upgrade on our #9 imo either. I'm just saying the guy is a pretty good striker and would be a "like-for-like" replacement, as much as it can be. I'd obviously not like to be in a position where Darren Bent would replace Cisse; rather instead be an option off the bench.

Bent will score goals. He's arguably stronger and better in the air no? May not be a better striker of the ball or be able to do the magic that Cisse can, but he's not some slack shit player. I'd rather keep Cisse but if it means we lose Cisse and we get Bent in return, I'd be upset that we lost Cisse but a little relieved we've picked up a decent striker with experience in the league. Having said that, if this also means we sign a Remy, then I'd be more at ease.
  15. Still can't get over that damn blue pinstripe but if the sponsor box is black and doesn't break the stripes up I'll not be too bothered with the kit.

With Nees on this one - the fact that we have Wonga as our sponsor says it all really. The power of our brand has been tarnished under Ashley's ownership and Llambias' "business dealings" from a commercial stand-point. All of the tremendous uproar about having them as our sponsor in the press and amongst the fan base is another damning piece of evidence.

That's the thing for me, it's only 1 player who seems to have a major issue with it. Hopefully it gets resolved and he meets up with the squad later?
  18. He was doing the shitty run. Looked 60 years old there. Mike Willo-run. That was what Williamson looks like when he traps the ball and passes it under pressure. 100%.
  19. Kinda reminded me of Mike Williamson dribbling for a second as it looked goofy and slow motion.
  20. Landon He's such a moody little bastard and I've always been so annoyed with him but there's no doubt he's quality.
  21. Yep, have family in Jacksonville and they rave about him. My cousin lives downtown and is really enjoying the things he's doing in the city as well. Put it this way, if he was our owner, I'd be chuffed. I'd also probably figure out a way to get involved with the club as I probably could get in touch with him.
  22. I mean, purchasing Jacksonville to me makes 0 sense as well, but everyone in the city loves the guy and what he's doing/trying to do for keeping that team there.
  23. Owns the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's a sound guy who has done his utmost best to galvanize the city of Jacksonville to get into their stadiums. He's modernized the logo, uniforms, etc. He has tons of ticket price offers, they are building a damn pool-like endzone atmosphere to get people into the stadium ffs. He really wants people back in the seats to help obviously his investment, but he genuinely has been investing in the city and local business as well. So far, he's done whatever the fans have asked him to do and he listens.
  24. Are taxes lower in the North East? Just curious if its location centric like over here in America. Not that it really applies to the topic at hand.
