I don’t blame him for leaving but not in this way. Put it simple, he could tell the club he wants to leave back in May so the club can begin to find replacement and rearrange the transfer priorities The club obviously didn’t know this or else they will tell Liverpool to go for Isak and we will get Ekitike To create this crisis at such a late timing is the worst to the club. He simply fucked up all of us

Normally a player will only go on strike when he has already kinda agreed terms with the next suitor, I.e. he isn’t afraid to burn the bridge. If it’s just the new contract not enough to satisfy his demands, he will not go that far, probably just continue to say he is injured / not feeling well. His agent very likely has agreed terms with a club, just not sure it’s Liverpool or others.

Had a second thought, might be it’s better to keep him at all cost and tell him he will only get his move next summer, no matter what. We need time to find a replacement, and we might have a better shot for top 5 finish by doing so. selling him now and trying to bring a new ST within such a short period usually won’t end well. Panic buy. even if we can only get much less next season, just keep him

When we have to evaluate something based on limited information, you can only rely on trends and identify risks behind when you have to make decision and you have the resources, you should try your best to grasp more information to clear the above risk in Wissa case, certainly the club can check about Wissas metabolic age during medical and also check about his lifestyle and diet. Just like some suggest we should have check Tonali’s background and discover his gambling habit. That’s something the club should do So go back to your question. I don’t agree to make decision just based on generalisation, but I agree to identify potential risk because that’s simply maths. People from same region tends to have similar culture and lifestyle, grow up in similar environment. Another example I can give you is in China, particular province, due to diet (mainly marinated salty fish) the local residents tends to have the highest Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma rate across the region. I won’t say people from that province must bear this disease, however it’s definitely good for all parties that those people should have regular body check re their nasal conditions. Do you get it now?

I don’t quite understand to be honest, probably because I am an Asian. In fact, Asian sportsman normally tends to peak earlier than European as well, usually due to too much carbohydrates intake during daily diets. Son is definitely an exceptional case. very few Asian athletes can keep their form after 30. However those practice Yoga and keep very strict diet like CR7 could prolong a bit and make it around 32/33. Different people have different culture and lifestyle which makes them having different life. I don’t understand why this is something that should get rinsed.

more about lifestyles, especially diets.

well if you change it to “attackers” then it still stands. the African and South American players stuff are more related to their lifestyle. Of course there are exceptions. If you don’t agree with that it’s ok.
-
Then tell me what are your expectation for Wissa’s remaining prime years?
-
Salah say hello too. How about Ronaldinho? Mane? Certainly you can find exceptions. The logic and the risk behind still stands.
-
African and South American players tends to drop their form much earlier than European. Remember Cisse? you can’t expect Wissa to keep his form after 30. 3 years service for 30m. That’s it.

added why I don’t think Wissa is as good as the other signings however given Isaks situation and not much options left in the market, I can understand why we go for him. Fine.
-
Mind you I have been shouting for these kinda signings for long as we need covers, and we started our revolution by signing relatively old players like Trippier Burn and Pope. Assuming they contributed 4 very best years, the cost is around 2-3m per year which is great value to the club. However Wissa isn’t. That’s 30m for maximum 3 years. 10m per year for these kinda players are too expensive.

30m pounds, 28 years old, African, not physically strong enough as a target man, nice poacher with pace, focal point of attack together with Mbuemo, does take a few penalty. Definitely no resale value and no guarantee how many prime years left thats really just “fine” to me. Feel free to disagree.
