    NUFC Transfer Rumours

The chance of getting someone that we have never been linked before is much higher than we finally get someone that was reported by media.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We really shouldn’t pay much attention to the media. We never waste time negotiating fees with other clubs so if we really got a breakthrough we will get the player within days. Players like Guler and this RB lad probably was enquired by us a few weeks ago, and that’s it. Media thought we are in, but likely we are already enquiring the sixth player down the list.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

    I never rate him anyway
  4. To be fair people doesn’t expect him to demand such a high wage that would break our bank. No matter how good he is, we all can imagine how Bruno / Isak / Trippier would react if we lash out such a contract to Maddison. players with very high wages are extremely difficult to move. Look at Man United and Chelsea, or us to some extent. Lots of deadwood receiving wages for being a trainee only. Maddison asking for 195K ppw completely explains why only Spurs is interested and make an offer. He would be great for Spurs this season. What about 2 years later?
  5. hmm unless we really play Big Joe on the left, if we bring in a new attacking midfielder Willock and Big Joe will warm the bench. Looks too luxury to me lol what I expect is (in order) holding midfielder: Bruno, Tonali, Longstaff box to box: Tonali, Longstaff, Big Joe attacking midfielder: Willock, Big Joe, Anderson Bruno and Tonali will start most of the games. Longstaff Big Joe Willock already need to compete for the last spot. if we really bring in a new attacking midfielder, Big joe will be assigned as our first choice left wing. Would that be something we want? I really doubt
  6. I think he personally prefers Gordon to do the job. However Big Joe is much more reliable and consistent, especially on the defence side. If Gordon still cannot fit in then yes I expect Big Joe to start on the left. I want ASM to be the starter though.
  7. I would choose Tonali over Maddison any day. This is a huge win. We aren’t getting both. The club has chosen Tonali and the whole world is asking why they didn’t ask Milan the availability beforehand
  8. In fact we have a lot of players who can play on the left, say ASM, Gordon, Big Joe and also Isak (who actually plays the best among all). It is the right side that we need upgrade and covers (Almiron and Murphy). We also need a cover for ST if Miley is not ready. I would welcome one more quality natural right wing, but we desperately need new left back and successor of Schar as Schar and Burn are aging. And, all these positions, to me, looks much more important than adding Maddison to the midfield mix. I would go that far to say we have the best midfield in EPL other than Man City already (unless Rice really go to Arsenal). It doesn’t make sense to spend another 40m and 190K ppw here.
  9. and then leave our player of the season big Joe, Willock and Longstaff on the bench, while Anderson getting 0 minutes and later on getting questions like why he didn’t got a loan somewhere? we got a better player (Tonali) on that position and we have finished our business there. I doubt we have been following Maddison for that long anyway. It’s not Ashworths style to break the salary structure for just one player. Even Tonali is just getting close to Bruno G salary, and Maddison’s reported salary in Spurs is much higher than that. We likely have contacted his agent early in the window, enquired about his expected salary and, just walk away and move on to our other targets I.e. Barella, Tonali.
  10. I simply don’t understand why would we play him on the wing. and everyone in the world would agree Tonali is a much better player, except for some of the people here who are really crazy about Maddison
  11. That was not the controversy I expected lol
  12. I simply think we have enough players for midfield now. One or two prospects as covers would be enough. Just think we have Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton, Longstaff and Willock and every game we would have two of them sitting on the bench. It doesn’t make much sense to add Maddison to the mix and put one more people on the bench. A young prospect like Anderson would be a better fit.

I simply don’t think we will buy any more midfielders / forwards unless we offload some deadwood, after getting Tonali. Two more defenders probably.
  14. 80m euro is a price they couldn’t turn down

    Sean Longstaff

I think all our midfielders will keep on rotate so to keep fresh for every games

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Yea I understand that but right now Left Back is a position that basically every big team is lacking. Even Real Madrid needs to play Camavinga there because Ferland is finished and they need a new one desperately. I am more than happy to be proven wrong lol if we did get Theo we could challenge the EPL title. He is a game changer.

Chiesa is possible. Since recovering from injury he didn’t start that much for Juventus. His form is quite inconsistent as well. We might get him for just around 40m. Missing out CL spot this season means Juventus need to cash in some of their players as well. Great pick imo Theo? No way. If he is available for sale literally all the clubs in the world would submit bid immediately. Forget it.
  18. Robert Lee and Speed again
  19. May be a bit too optimistic but we probably got someone as good as Rice. Unbelievable coup this.
  20. just think he is Longstaff is fine. Unreal coverage on pitch with excellent passing ability
  21. I can understand how devastated Milanista is now. Tonali is a club symbol, a local lad, and probably the future Italy captain. It’s like we got their Andy Carroll (with even better record of course)
  22. Not really. If we did offer 70m+ incentives, Milan would sell him. It’s already the max price Tonali could be sold during his life. To be fair he does not have the potential to be the best in his position. 7-80m is about right. Leao on the other hand has that level of potential and that’s why Milan would not sell for anything less than 150m. Milan knows the value.
  23. You guys probably got mislead by the Pirlo comparison. Yes he was compared to Pirlo a few years ago since he got great passing skills and that’s why he was signed by Milan. However when Milan really tried to let him play like Pirlo I.e. deep lying playmaker role, he simply couldn’t do it and struggled heavily Milan finally gave up the Pirlo experiment and let him play a bit forward. Since then he has been playing as a box to box midfielder and he found his form back. in short: he is not a 6, he is an 8. Here’s the upgrade for Longstaff
  24. 50m is a non starter. It has to be at least 75m.
