There’s less defending to do at city but the defending is harder to do. At Newcastle we drop our line under pressure. We drop our line against good teams. At City you’ll have to defend from the halfway line against Real Madrid. That’s what Tino is for. I have a similar feeling to Isak re: Tino’s contract. It should’ve been signed last year before he really established himself in the England setup and as a top defender in the league. When the top 6 realised we had stolen a march on them for Tino about 12-18 months ago. The old leadership over leveraged on contract lengths with Isak and they left us in that position with Tino. He’s still on ‘bought as a 21 year old coming from the champ’ money right? When a player seems content to be underpaid for a long period of time they are looking at moving. We’ve not dealt with contracts well since Ashworth left. I keep saying it. Palmer signed long deal with Chelsea. But got a new contract (even longer) within 16 months of signing. It’s to keep him sweet. When players improve their levels (Tonali, Hall, Tino) they need to be paid well even if they have 3-4 years left on their contracts.

Had some pretty big jobs as it is. Portugal decent chance of winning the World Cup.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

Upgrading Pope is going to be a difficult challenge. If the Gk Isn’t close to being as commanding as Pope we will struggle to take to them. Even keepers most think are better overall like Pickford (obviously not him) have significant drawbacks. You lot will appreciate Popey one day. -
Klopp. Or bring back Zizou. This fancy tactico stuff isn’t for Madrid

Xabi has to go.

Liverpool game is boring as fuck

No PSR issues for Liverpool man. Xabi has been worse at Madrid than I ever could’ve imagined. But he doesn’t have the same level of ego to deal with. Alonso has no aura at Real. No authority. A big name, successful player and coach at Real but it hadn’t translated. Liverpool is different and the flush squads tend to be more deferential to the coach.

If his point was purely that Salah hasn’t been performing this season and going to the media is unprofessional and makes him look overly arrogant - I would agree. But instead he’s done what Salah said he would do. Attacked Salah and Said a bunch of irrelevant things to denigrate one of the greatest players in Liverpool history. Even the tracking back thing is a lie for the majority of his time at the club. Shearer and Lineker spoke about it. Both having been in Salah’s shoes and said far more sensible takes.

But it’s not true. Football is a team sport aye. But Only Virgil Van Dijk has an argument of contributing more than Salah to Liverpools golden era. He’s put in more work produced more value than maybe 2 ppl at that club (Klopp). His contribution and Joe Gomez is not the same. He does deserve special treatment. Your comment about Isak is for other fans not me. Sure we’ve provided the platform for Isak to succeed but I still think Isak himself is a wonderfully gifted footballer and the second best striker we’ve ever had. He did that. I think Isak should’ve been compensated 12 months earlier and that would’ve helped us in the summer. Isak too was unprofessional and I’ve lost all love for him. But I won’t over credit others because he’s gone and is a prick. when Bruno leaves I hope we treat him with more respect. Shearer aside I don’t think anyone in the media would dare criticise Bruno the way Carragher. I don’t know why Carragher thinks he can talk so freely about a player that yas brought so much to his club. Like his greatest night for the club didn’t involve shipping 3 goals by half time

I’m of the opposite view. He’s lied and said he hasn’t criticised him on the pitch. Saying his legs have gone is criticism. He’s downplaying Salah by calling him a Chelsea failure. He’s also the player most responsible for this golden era and winning 2 PL titles. Before Salah Liverpool had been second string PL club for 30 years. Why didn’t he mention that? He didn’t speak highly of AFCON last season. Now he’s using it as a stick to claim Salah hasn’t achieved outside of Liverpool.
