  1. He reminds me of a very young Flamini. Tidy as hell, rarely looses the ball and technically very sound. Except we might have to use him as if he's Fabregas.
  2. Nope, a fair few though. Hopefully Xisco is a Heskey/youngfitViduka hybrid.
  3. He has something like 5 goals in 50 caps. It's hard to be under-rated with stats like that. Good team player no doubt. I think he provides something good to the team.....considering he is by far inferior in ability to the likes of Rooney. He basically ran the front line tonight for England, and ran his socks off. He gave his all and did well as a target man, causing a good Croatia a lot of problems. I personally feel he is made a scapegoat and is similar to the likes of Ameobi as far as stick is concerned. He gets a lot more grief than he actually deserves, and does a decent enough job "causing problems" even if he isn't very prolific at all. Oh no doubt I agree that he played well tonight and has often played well in an England shirt. And i agree when the chips are down he is made a scapegoat out of. But when Darius Vassell has scored more goals for England you can hardly call him under-rated as I doubt many strikers have 48 caps and counting with 5 goals.
  4. yep. never is about right. i think there was one game when he first became captain but even on our good days he looks fairly uncomfortable. You tend to expect to take awhile before players find their international groove. It wasn't until his 20 something cap when A. Cole started to really look the business i an England shirt. The same for a few lads, Rio too but Terry has something like 50 caps and has achieved a lot in his career yet still looks shakey as fuck. He'll never be as good for England as Campbell was in his pomp and his place shouldn't be guaranteed. Andy Cole was prolific for a number of years but it was widely accepted that he just couldn't replicate it for England (despite being given far less chances) surely the same thing applies for Terry.

  6. Totally agree with the Terry talk. For such an experienced player he has never looked comfortable in an England shirt. Ferdinand should've been named captain, Ferdinand is the first name on the team sheet imo.
  7. Carl Cort was our joint top scorer in one season, 7 i think. He also didn't earn as much as Smith but i'd still say Shev was worse value for money despite scoring a few.
  8. Yeah I was thinking that. Tottenham is North London & Croydon is deep, deep South London. Smertin must've got robbed or something in Croydon although I don't know why he would be there in the first place.
  9. He seems to be talking about robbery in particular. I can't be arsed to find the facts but i'm pretty sure you're most likely to get robbed in Central London much more than anywhere else in London (tourists get targeted).
  10. Former Spurs forward Sergei Rebrov has issued a despicable racist rant to Tottenham's new striker Roman Pavlyuchenko. When asked, by a Russian journalist, how Pavlyuchenko should adapt to British life, the former Ukraine forward Rebrov said: 'A lot of dark skinned people lived near White Hart Lane so the crime rate was high.' He also claimed that if Pavlyuchenko didn't want to be a 'robbery victim' he should avoid walking around the area close to the Spurs ground. Sergei Rebrov Rebrov, who was widely panned as a flop during his time at Spurs between 2000-2004, made his astonishing claims to Football Weekly magazine. His comments are sure to provoke widespread criticism, not least from those that live in the north London communities in and around Tottenham. He said: 'I wouldn't go for a walk on my own around White Hart Lane. 'A lot of dark skinned people live there. So naturally the crime rate is higher than anywhere else. 'It's not nice to be a robbery victim. So I suggest that Roman doesn't walk but drives around that area.' Pavlyuchenko is expected to join his new club Tottenham on Thursday after playing for the Russian national team in their World Cup qualifier against Wales. In the same article, ex-Fulham midfielder Alexei Smertin said: 'Of course there are districts where Roman shouldn't go on his own. Roman Pavlyuchenko Roman Pavlyuchenko will join Spurs this week after playing for Russia in their World Cup qualifier against Wales 'The first place that springs to mind is Croydon. It's populated with predominantly low income folks. But I can't see why Roman should find himself there - it's quite far from the Tottenham area.' Russian newspaper Sovetski Sport sent journalist Andrei Lyalin to check out the Tottenham area. Lyalin told his readers: 'Seven Sisters tube station is just ten minutes ride from the centre of London. I got out there and it occurred to me that the area looked as English as the Arsenal team. 'Broken windows of sooty brick houses, dirty shops selling cheap fruits and vegetables at every corner, immigrant teenage gangs on bikes.' He added that he was glad it was daylight when he went to the area, saying: 'Otherwise I would lose in the district much more than the £60 a black marketeer charged me for a ticket behind one of the goals.'
  11. Shevchenko was worst value for money despite scoring 9 or so goals.
  12. Yeah that's the thing. We where a good central midfielder away from me being happy with the window. Ashleys very tight.
  13. The College Dropout

    Zola?

    No because he's Gianfranco Zola.
  14. Better than Drogba. No chance. Adebayor is one of the most overrated footballers to walk on this earth imo. Adebayour misses more chances than any other Premiership football FACT. OK it isn't but it certainly seems that way.
  15. Couldn't find a suitable replacement.
  16. I think we kept Wise cause Ashley was happy with our signings - and so am i - what more did you want from him??? Genuine question: why do clubs have managers if all you need is a chief scout? Another one: how can any manager formulate a style of play when he's not getting to choose the players? Shoehorning the "best players" (ha) into a team does not work. You'd know that if you'd watched England at any time in the last ten years. Erm, to manage the playing staff? You know... like most jobs. 2. Signing specific types of players to carry out the roles. We needed a pacey winger, we've got one. A "target-man" style centre forward, i think we've signed one. Maybe Keegan had a different vision. I don't believe he was in a Martin Jol-like position where he asked for a defensive midfielder and the powers at be signed a striker instead.
  17. quite possibly libelous If the money isn't invested in the squad, it has to go somewhere else. It seems to me that making the club profitable has a higher priority than making us competitive. The lack of investment is evidence of that. There's this place called a bank. We put money we make in it.
  18. I agree with this but it's hardly a reason to resign. This is what I don't understand. That Ignacio fella is a short-term replacement for Milner, I accept this because it gives us time to look for a proper replacement. Overall I think we just missed out on another Central midfielder.
  19. Yep something like he would rather lose for England than L'pool or something. Simply a prick. Say what you like about Beckham & Owen, atleast you know they regard playing for their country with the highest honour
  20. Remove N'Zogbia he loses the ball far too much. replace him with Geremi or Butt He's also too lazy.
  21. Just imagine what the new players are thinking.
  22. The fans need the club to communicate better. Obviously something happened today, if the club came out straight away rebuking the claims we probably wouldn't have dozens of people outside the ground protesting. Makes the club look like an utter farce.
