  1. Bobby did a good job turning the club around, Keegan can do the same again. Two signings was all it took to take us from mid-table to top-four though, the foundations had been laid by the previous managers' signings (Given, Dabizas, Solano, Speed, Shearer, Dyer, etc). It'll take a lot more than that this time, and personal opinion is, I don't think Keegan has it in him anymore. Totally agree. You had a solid goalkeeper,a lethal finisher and 3 good midfielders with different attributes. Nobby, Speed, Dyer & Shearer are far better players than Charles, Barton, Milner & Owen/Oba. We do not have a decent team.
  2. Tottenham have been in about half a dozen 6 goal games. they are also very good to watch. No English team in the early 90's would come near to the skill of a Man Utd. and Arsenal.
  3. Looks a decent player. Looked dangerous the first time Spurs fucked up and tucked that way nicely.
  4. not the usual amount of european giants in there are there. Without doubt an English winner this year. Knowing their luck I will go with Liverpool again. Whoever is the weakest of that 8, Liverpool will draw them lol I agree. I see L'Pool beating any of the foreign teams.
  5. I agree in a way, same is true of rugby union (more so in fact) - 10 years ago the players looked like normal people, now they look more like body builders. Just hope it doesn't eventually breed out the skill and we don't see any more Beardsleys and Waddles. It won't bread out the skill. It wasn't like Beardsley or Waddle were slow and weak. Who is that South African Rugby Union player who has the chest width of a train? My God he looks like a beast.
  6. Now you have to be more "complete". 1 of the differences between Kaka and Riquelme is that Kaka is a far superior athelete. He looks pretty tall and he's deceptively strong and quick. Fabregas isn't particularly quick but he's not slow either and has increased his strength ten-fold. Players like Ronaldo and Richards look "brolic" and a fair deal of their success on the pitch comes from their physical attributes.
  7. Totally agree. I love watching penalties (when Newcastle aren't in)
  8. Not sure it concerns us at the minute! This. I like seeing upset/pissed off Italians. 2-0 And this.
  9. Jagielka, Lescott and Cahill all mostly Championship players as well. There's talent in that division.
  10. Cahill reallly is amazing in the air.
  11. No he never. He didn't get near touching the ball the cheeky little b******. One angle suggested he got the faintest of touches imo. I still don't think he touched it. I sit behind that goal and have a great view of the box. Good win for us today though. You seem to be ducking the all important issue mate. Pienaar's hair. Bad wasn't it? He looked like a little girl. My 10 year old nephew looks like a girl because of his very long cornrows.
  12. Aye, don't you just hate those c**ts. Bernie Slaven harping on every night, on the "legends" phone-in about us going down. He want's to have another look at the table because if we're in the relegation battle, they certainly are. 3 of their next 4 games are v Villa, Arsenal and Chelsea away. Hope to god they go down. I think we're going to take Boro apart, I really do. Someone is due a thrashing, and have been for a while, and I think it could be them. You jinxed it. I bet they beat you now.
  13. b******, what gave it away? A part of me reckons HTL would still say something like that.
  14. Aye, I didn't realise they lost.
  15. Terrible, cynical challenge. He always gets away with fouls.
  16. I'll be laughing when Smith gets his 4 goals against Sunderland. He has 10 games and I would be surprised if he scored more than 1. I lie even 1 would be a shock. Just imagine... he shoots..it goes past the goalkeeper... and ripples the net! Seems kind of unnatural.
  17. Horrid challenge by Makelele. He gets away with being such a dirty player because of his dimunitive height. I reckon Mikel tries to imitate him but because he's so big he can't do it.
  18. Been impressive recently. I was really surprised when Mikel was picked ahead of him for the Carling Cup final. Ref makes a terrible decision. Boa Morte tries to kick him, Lampard pushes him yet Lampard gets sent off.
  19. Is it me... or is Jermaine Jenas looking much more "brolic" these days? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=brolic (how cool am i?) Performance enhancers me thinks.
  20. lol. Is it me. or does Abonglahor's "skills" look very obvious and poorly executed? Well they work... but something about the way he runs with the ball looks clumsy.
  21. You kid, you kid.......surely.. Either way, if Cacapa & Faye have managed to bundle one over the line at some point this season there is no excuse for Smith. Even Mr. Let's Try a Frank Lampard Style Long Shot From 25 Yards and It'll Go a Mile Over (catchy nickname huh) Nicky Butt has scored twice this season.
