Defensively poor.
-
Adebayor gives our lads nightmares. He's stronger and faster than all of them with a great touch so you can't get tight.
-
Lambert with a selfless run
-
What about the first?
-
The freekick was cheap to giveaway. I could understand it in the Bale situation where he just needed to act but it was poor defending to get into that position for the FK. So early as well. Perch also accountable. But that's Colo/Perch for the first. Equally as to blame. Colo more to blame for the second too. That's two situations that if he defended well we wouldn't have conceded goals.
-
Howay man, his build up play is only bettered by a select few in the division according to some.
-
Even Andy fucking Johnson. I didn't want to bring up players not in Cisse's league but he's definitely better in the build-up. Gouffran too while we at it. So much more involved in the game than Cisse EVER has.
-
Andy Johnson is also a selfless runner, works the channels well. Are you trying to tell me, Cisse is better outside the box, on the halfway line, whatever than Dzeko? Lukaku? And Giroud? Seriously? We aren't Barcelona man. We NEED a striker that can be an out-ball, either holding it up, linking others, or running it. Howay man he was shit offensively on the wing.
-
Ridiculous. Long reminds me of Bellamy plenty, a terror to teams even If he doesn't score. Benteke is a no brainer. He's a target man ffs of course his build play is better than Cisse's. Good in the air, holds it up well, works the channels, comes short. Come on. You can launch the ball long at the other 3 and there's half a chance they could do something. Dzeko build up is nowhere comparable to Cisse man. Giroud too, he's very much a team player. Lukaku I haven't seen loads of. Forgot about Berbatov.
-
Definitely looked a foul. Definitely Colo's fault for the second too.
-
Manchester United - Rooney, RVP, Welbeck City - Dzeko, Tevez, Aguero, formerly Balotelli Chelsea - Torres, Ba Spurs - Adebayor Arsenal - Giroud, Podolski Liverpool - Suarez WBA - Long, Lukaku Villa - Benteke That's off the top of my head. That's at least half the strikers in the league. I haven't even included Michu and the pure cloggers of the division.
-
I don't think Cisse's true level of performance is last season nor this season. Somewhere In between e.g. A superior Darren Bent. His overall team play for a top striker is poor man. It's significantly worse than Ba which isn't all that great anyway. His build up play is more Darren Bent than Torres. I could name at least 10 Premiership strikers with better build up play. Probably 20 in all honesty. Because he's not very good at it.
-
Defoe can create for himself too. In and around the box he just needs a yard. He's also better at carrying the ball. He's just a bit selfish and sometimes need too many chances to score.
-
So are Defoe and Darren Bet ffs. He's in the same category as them - finishers. When did Papiss Cisse turn into an all rounder like Adebayor?
-
Aye Perch watched it all the way for some reason. The type of freekick picks up pace and it went very low in the end. Still Colo's fault for allowing the whole situation.
-
People either grossly over rate Papiss or under rating Bent, I'm not sure. People are acting as if Papiss link up play is good all the time like say he's RVP. It's not. He's better than Bent IMO but not by a huge margin. Cisse is capable of the spectacular, Bent isn't. Bent is more practical with finishing which helps. Cisse movement is better when it works. Better link up but not by a big distance. What we have to do for Papiss is what we would have to do for Bent.

Mous was close to him all the time. The balls where knocked too long but had he held it up a bit Mous was there for him no doubt. He only looked isolated because the ball never sticked.
-
How is he not? His game is all about getting in behind the defence, movement off the ball and pure finishing with head or feet.
-
Come off it. First things he did were to play a quick incisive pass to Sissoko to lead to a half chance, then a fantastic cross field ball just after that. Plus lots of good tackling and pressing. I can only remember one sloppy piece of play when the game was ridiculously stretched in added time, he's just on another level talent wise to Perch. I think saying Perch cowers is ridiculously harsh though. I don't think he does at all, I just don't think he's very talented (that's talking technically, physically and on-pitch intelligence). His commitment is absolutely fine. Agreed, the games just overwhelm him. That's what happened last year at WHL, he was overwhelmed and over ran. An overwhelmed Tiote tends to do too much rather than too little.
-
His game is all about intelligence. He's not fast or particularly strong. And his decisions are costing us.
-
Would still have Demba Ba over him like. IMO he needs to work on coming deep and/or wide to offer more for the team. Like I said, flash Darren Bent. Hope he proves me wrong.
-
Would've liked him a bit deeper today. Perch can't handle great movement from midfielders. Would've liked us to go man-for-man in the middle and see who wins.
-
The thing I like most about Tiote is that he doesn't hide.
-
Cost us big time today. Got caught by a bit of movement for the first goal. Then bottled it for the second. Should've looked to clear everything from that position. Poor.
-
The first mistake is the crucial one.
