Laughable. He often starts offside let's be honest. He often clearly isn't looking across the line to even attempt being onside. C'mon.
-
Krul's hair is horrendous like.
-
Swansea aye. They don't concede many either. Wigan are always likely to get thumped.

Pretty sure he did with Cole and Yorke. That was my first reaction but that's what he said according to Marcotti. But when you think about it, Dwight Yorke was an excellent all-round footballer. He scored a lot of goals but his overall footballing intelligence was excellent, he was the reason Cole became a success at Man Utd. By the time he was at S'land, he had become a midfielder so there's validity to the original statement.

Fergie has said he's never played a 4-4-2 with two proper strikers. ATM it's definitely a 4-4-1-1

Juventus say hi.
-
He believes in God? What a wanker!
-
They won't finish top 4. 6 points off already.
-
Agreed. Never understood wanting to keep him around simply because he's been their most successful manager. If the guy's not winning anymore, cut him loose. They sold all the generation that was meant to take them up to the top but he had still been developing brilliant talent. He's not really the problem, lack of investment is.
-
He shoots maybe twice a match ffs.
-
Perch has also made 5 interceptions in the games against Villa, Chelsea and Spurs. Tiote's made 7 against Spurs & Metalist alone.
-
Agreed. There's not much Tiote needs to learn about passing from James Perch.
-
How many passes does Tiote make per game? People say his passes are simple, backwards and square. I'd like to see the distance compared to Perch. I'm certain Tiote makes more passes than Perch and they're more ambitious. That's why I put the key passes stat in there as well. Tioté may well try a lot more ambitious passes, but he doesn't actually end up making any more important ones than Perch does. He makes almost twice the amount of passes per game. Look at the chalkboards man. Tiote's passing is better. If I have time i'll throw on the diagram's. Tiote's passing is a significant step up.

Cabaye does make at least one bad challenge in most games, but people don't pick up on it as he's pegged as one of our more cultured players. Not to mention his corners are atrocious. Let's be clear here though, he's still a cracking player. The point is we should look at the whole game rather than pick up one or to faults to grumble about, and that's how Tiote should be judged as well. We overlook some players' faults and hyper analysis other players' faults. When he's poor i'll be the first to point it out. Yesterday he was fine.

Should've took it with the feet.
-
He committed 2 fouls. HE'S A LIABILITY!!!! /sarc

For years, they've been at their best with the 2 widemen. Now keeping them quiet is harder as they've both adapted their game. AVB has done a lot to take their games further than just give it to them and watch them run. It's still true that if you limit Bale/Lennon you're in with a chance. They've got other qualities no doubt. Excellent side,.

I'd rather have Tiote over Anita than Jonas over Marv tbf. Even at home we need some real cover in midfield.
-
Yeah, I think point people are making is that we don't need a DM at home though. Against a better side, we could've conceded on the break after he went off. Nothing wrong with playing him for an hour in the hope we don't concede in that period. We created some good chances regardless so it's not a major issue. Anita's quick but is he effective at breaking up counters in the PL? Plus, some are saying Perch should've started which is just BS. Anita instead of Tiote? Perhaps. Doesn't mean Tiote had a terrible game like some have said.
-
Playde well y'day. Was poor against Spurs though. When chasing a game I'd liek to see Cabaye -Sisso - Marv in midfield for a bit before we bring on Shola or someone.
-
First they came for Simpson, then Williamson, then Jonas, now Tiote. He was fully decent. Against Spurs Cabaye should've got sent off but nobody used that as a stick to beat him with. Straight red all day. Tiote's always collected yellow cards, always has and probably will. We now have real options so it shouldn't be such a problem but now it's a heinous crime to pick up yellows?
-
'cause they started the game without an orthodox striker didn't they? anyway i just meant they had a plan that was clearly worked on in training, played to their strengths and everyone was well drilled in it and knew what they should have been doing....granted we had that last year but it's easier to have a defined plan when that plan is defensively grounded as ours was Spurs plan is basically give it to Bale, and he was able to produce a couple of moments to beat us. The difference between us and Spurs that day was him and him only. We sat deep to nullify their threat in the wide areas. And for no one to really do the business in the box from crosses they struggled. It's been that case for years, shut their flanks down and you've got a good chance. Last year they had VDV and Ade to counter that, this year Bale has turned into CR7-lite. With us, high line or deep line. It doesn't matter we don't have a strategy.

Just had a look a Stats Zone. Perch rarely makes more than 30-45 passes. Tiote is 50-65 game-in-game-out. Always has more successful passes than Perch to go with his higher pass failure rate.Nearly all of Perch's passes are backwards and very short. I've always said Tiote gets criticised for not hiding and trying to make things happen. I do agree Anita would've been better y'day but Tiote had a decent game.

Doubt it. We should go there with a full team.
