  1. He's only ever decent when we are on the front foot.
  2. He's worth x10 what we have ended up paying. We pretty much paid his club what would have been his signing on fee.
  3. There's a goal scored from a set-piece in 1 out of every 2 football matches.
  4. Up until Pardew came along Saylor was good for a few goals tbf.
  5. Tbf the media have largely laid off Pardew too.
  6. Yep, £8m. Wiltord is the probably worst at £13m. He didn't do much, but they still won the title when he was there. Not having that like. Wiltord was a good signing overall. Didn't get in ahead of Bergkamp or Henry but he did well for them. Important member of the squad.
  7. I only expect 2 newbies to start. Probably Mbiwa and Gouffran.
  8. He didn't notice that they were by far better than anything else in that team. That still worries me today. You have Carlton Cole and Hayden Mullins playing over Mascherano and Tevez.
  9. I've lost whatever little trust I had in Pardew in the past few weeks, but f*** me how the hell would he get away with doing anything like you suggest? The circumstances are completely different to the above scenario. He is also a different person with different experience now! Is it not possible that he has learned something from that fiasco? Granted Pardew wasn't involved in what names we signed, but I'm fairly certain he knows our weaknesses, and will play the new players, moving heaven and earth for them in fact, as he knows they are the only chance we have of staying up. The circumstances are far from completely different - at West Ham, they were fighting against relegation just as we are now and it wasn't until he was pressured into playing Tevez regularly that they escaped....if you remember, Sheff Utd tried to get the Hammers relegated in their place because there was an irregularity with Tevez' registration or something and they said it was his goals that saved W Ham.... I do remember yes. 1) This was a few years ago, and Pardew will have learned from that 2) The Tevez/Mascherano transfers were dodgy, they didn't speak a word of English, and had no compatriots to help them settle in. Our new players will have a much easier time settling in. They where also by some distance the best players at the club. Mascherano couldn't even get a game. He's captained Argentina and won the CL. Tevez also went on to win the CL. It was unbelievably daft on his behalf. thats two world-class players thrown on your lap and he messed it up. As soon as they got regular game time they hit the ground running too.
  10. Aye, Shola and Willo will definitely be replaced. In midfield they will fight it out.
  11. He's the best coach in the division. Took the league up another level.
  12. We definitely shouldn't. That's always where the division is created. Happened at Fulham and L'pool.
  13. Thats true, but imo we need someone who can play as part of a two as well as upfront alone, RVW would fit that bill. If Cisse gets injured I'm not sure Gouffran will be a good lone front man Shola init.
  14. Yeah, this doesn't really count. Getting questioned/arrested on suspicion of a crime isn't means for cancelling a contract. All the other BS he's done other Newcastle players have done similar and have not had their contracts terminated. Gross misconduct tends to be 1 major thing not many smaller things, so he'd sweep up in court. Only way he could be sacked if he is guilty. MA's a gambling man, he'd rather wait for that.
  15. Wrong again. Expensive lawyers. If my employers unfairly sacked me I could look to stand way more in compensation than what I would earn in my contract. If we want shot we would have to pay him the entirety of his contract and simply release him.
  16. Apple sacked somebody in Norwich for damaging the Apple brand by saying negative things on Facebook, every time Ranger is mentioned for his run ins with the law we also get mentioned. They could easily sack him if they have a good disciplinary procedure and follow it, they wouldn't even have to wait for a trial as long as they follow procedures and act fairly. I can be sacked for saying negative things about a RIVAL on twitter/FB let alone my company. It's in most people's contracts. Getting arrested for something you haven't been proven guilty of in a court of law isn't gross misconduct. Atm, he hasn't done anything so he can't be sacked. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.
  17. san lorenzo could buy out his contract Not really, Gross Misconduct is fairly standardised to include actions in own time that can impact negatively on the club and its image. He hasn't been proven guilty of the rape. Getting arrested on suspicion of a crime isn't a crime.
  18. He'd sweep up in court if we tried to sack him.
  19. Not true and I think the club could justifiably sack him now, even if he’s innocent he consistently brings the clubs name into disrepute. The club could probably argue that he's damaging the club brand because of the constant bad headlines which reflect on the club by association. Once again, not true.
  20. Not in this instance. You can't get sacked on suspicion of a crime. Suspension with or without pay is the most likely outcome.
  21. You have to give Mike & Dekka credit. They've obviously looked for a certain type of player -re: contracts
  22. With a fully fit team Bigi still comfortably makes the bench.
