Fair. He’s just been ok to me at Chelsea. Quick, solid technically but he’s not particularly productive. Doesn’t seem to have a killer instinct or regular final ball. Reminds me a little of Sancho, you can tell there’s talent technically, quick but not rapid. Not really a playmaker, not really a creator or a goalscorer. His stats suggest a tidy passer, decent ball carrier but nothing special. Or nothing that’s can be taken dramatically to the next level. If you spend £40m on a winger carefully you can get a special player. Or close. I don’t think Madueke has a ceiling above ‘good’. Could be wrong. Might do a AG. Minteh still looks a raw player to me. But certain aspects of his game and stats makes me think his ceiling is higher. Or at the least a more exciting player.

What has Madueke done to be worth £40m? Less productive than the lad I can’t speak about in Holland. Average underlying stats in the PL. Averwge output.

Suggesting he may end up being worth more than £32m and/or the medium/long term solution to our RW issues = the next Messiah and/or Salah -
Is also right footed and prefers playing on the left. People want him because he was excellent at the Euros 3 years ago and his dad was a baller too.
-
Rather play Gordon up top and use Barnes as LW.

I don’t agree. We carry most of our costs forward season on season and our revenues haven’t increased in line. £60m for Guler would be a ‘sign now, worry later’ type deal anyway. The opportunity is too big. We’ll have 10 months to sort the finances out
-
Agreed. Last Jan - I think would’ve been a decent idea. Since he’s signed the contract extension I think we’ve missed the prime window to sell him now he’s on big boy wages. —- Guler - I don’t see us signing him permanently now. A bigger team will come and get him. I don’t assume he’s for sale either tbh. Edit: Madrid are fond of the buy back tbf. So maybe a glorified loan.
-
100% agree. Brahmin and Guler are too similar a profile. One of them will have to leave most likely - if not now in January. Unless Rodrygo is sold.
-
Lad has a lovely compilation of Schar like passing
-
Easier to loan a good RW than a good CB imo.
-
Brahim Diaz. Left footed AM/RW (and generally any attacking position). Brahim was preferred to Guler when Real needed goals in the CL and generally played well when given the opportunity. Think he scored a fantastic winner against Leipzeig. I don’t think Carlo has ever played Jude at CM. I watched about 25 Real games last season and Jude didn’t play a minute at CM from what I saw. Carlo’s also on record saying Jude needs to play close to goal. He could change his mind but I think he has Jude has a 10 or false 9. Fede, Tchou, Modric, Cama are the midfielders imo. LW: Vini, Mbappe, Rodrygo ST: Mbappe, Endrick, Jude AM: Jude, Brahim, Guler RW: Rodrygo, Brahim, Guler. I think Guler has a higher ceiling than anyone they have at RW but the others are far more developed at this point and have seniority.
-
Really liked Brahim Diaz from what I saw last season. Both he and Guler are better suited to the RW spot than Rodrygo - who they should sell imo. For his own good.
-
There’s at least 2 players ahead of Guler at RW for Real. Maybe 3. He’s too good to sit on the bench.

Our new wonderkid?

I’ve long thought Gulder would need a loan this season. Why not us ?

We desperately need to get rid of Targett. -
Schar’s more aggressive, better distribution and goal fret. Botmans better in the air and has more presence.
-
Schar’s been better than Botman for me.
-
The Yoro lad is definitely a top target like. Seemed destined for Real M.
-
Love this for us

That’s fine. But ppl can be disappointed. Im personally happy to keep Wilson. Just get me a quality RW and CB and I’m happy. There’s something deeply wrong if they don’t want those 2 positions btw. We lack quality and depth in those positions.

It’s not anti club. I’m just calling it as I would for another club. If Man U or Everton had to sell their best youngster, for a fee less than another club was offering, no buyback, no sell-on, in the position they most need - just to contribute towards a PSR shortfall we would all laugh and say it’s an example of poor management. -

All reports suggest there’s nothing (beyond what fifa mandate). In a full strength team is he meant to start at LB for the duration of his 4-year contract? I would be shocked if Kelly is earning 150k. Surely that would make him our highest paid defender. And a top 5 earner at the club. Thats more than any Arsenal defender other than Saliba. I refuse to believe it. -

I’ve conceded ground. Given the circumstances it was the right thing to do. If you sell a highly rated 20 year old without a way to benefit from future success - it’s because you don’t have leverage and have been bent over. Or you extracted a premium on the transfer - which we didn’t, it wasn’t the highest bid. -
I full agree. That’s my expectation. But I understand why ppl are frustrated.
