He’s not available obviously but I think Konsa is a better player and a similar one. Not the right age but Anderson too. He was poor last season apparently but I was impressed with Aguerd in his first season. I don’t pay a lot of attention to other teams CBs in the main - Funnily enough outside of Palace and Real. Might be controversial but I prefer Joe Gomez too. I like my central defenders big, strong and tall. Seeing your CB easily outjumped is so painful. I used to think Schar was weak defensively in the air but he’s a bit of a monster now. So who knows. I would prefer someone not well established in the PL tbh. I’d never heard of Bruno before he joined so there’s lots of quality out there that I don’t know about. I do like Guehi. Talented player. But if he costs £40m+… I feel like our super SD could find us better value for money
-
For whatever he’ll cost - I think we could do better.
-
He was better than Stones in the euros tbf. Didn’t think either were convincing. Undoubtedly a good player. Jusg never been sold on him personally.
-
I’ll be honest- he loses too many headers for me to be a big fan. Talented player. But would prefer someone better in the air.

Agreed. If we buy now I think we are stuck looking low down the target list. You would think Trippier’s wages alone free up £5-7.5m.
-
Ok. If at some point = at some point during Hall's contract - I fully agree. I think it was clear at a certain point that only severe injuries would give Hall further opportunities to integrate into the playing team last season. If Targett and Livra were fit, Hall would barely have had a kick in the last 6 months of the season. I'm making that assumption because he wasn't getting a kick until Livra went down, Targett was out, Botman was out etc. When players came back, Miley got time off the bench, that's a manager slowly bringing a player through because the manager thinks he's almost ready / can contribute. Hall wasn't getting a sniff. He wasn't being slowly reintroduced into the team, he was bench fodder until the injuries meant he was next up. The injuries did come and Hall took his opportunity. I think it's changed Howe's perception of the lads readiness.

Yeh. The original fee only partially defines whether the selling fee is good. Although I think doubling his fee to £90m would be a decent deal for us. Anything less than £80m is a steal for Liverpool. They won’t have to pay him crazy wages either.
-
It’s kind of funny that we’ve signed 4 left backs since the takeover. But only 1 CB and 0 RWs for the first team.
-
£75m for Gordon is low if we have him on a long term deal.
-
Why is it safe to assume?
-
No that’s not a given tbf
-
Why would he or his agent be wise enough to understand that? Theres bigger wages, more prestige and going home if he moves to Liverpool. If there’s genuine interest there’s no reason for him to be loyal to us beyond what is professional
-
This is another thing I’d like us to clarify. A 3.5 year deal is crazy. All we heard at the time is ‘long term deal’. 3.5 years isn’t a long term deal. 5-6 years like we have with Isak is a long term deal.
-
Tbf Hall only got game time due to injuries. Once Lascelles and Livra went done - there were no other options. It’s not like Howe brought him back into the team because he thought Hall was ready. But alls well that ends well.
-
Fair. Think he’s more mid level PL though but fair given injuries.
-
The thing that gives credence to the high Targett salary is that he seems hard to shift. Fair he’s had injury troubles and that’s putting clubs off. But if he was on reasonable money surely we could get £5-10m for him? He’s barely even linked to other clubs. He’s 4th choice LB at this point. I think he moves on this window. But if it’s not permanent…. I don’t think he gets 80k, 95k, 100k etc. normally. So I would expect that’s what he’s on now. Chelsea paying Tosin £130k makes some sense. That fits him about right in their existing wage structure.
-
105k would surely make him our highest paid defender or second behind Trippier. Thats surely too much. He should earn in line with Schar and Botman max. If he earns £105-150k and at least one of Livra or Hall (maybe both as they should) get cappped for England, or even just play ahead of him - their agents should kick their lips. £105k-150kwould also likely make him impossible to sell. Like our boy Matt Targett. dorsnt seem to be solid reports anywhere. If it’s £90-105k as triple his Bournemouth wage - it’s high - makes him hard to sell but it doesn’t screw up the wage structure entirely. The GK or a (bad) PSR workaround though. If the fee is we £5m we would definitely sign someone else from Forest this side of June to level their PSR position. £5m for the GK and £35m for Anderson never made any sense for Forest PSR position. £15-20m makes sense mutually for both clubs FFP.

Love Craig - but he’s going to get into a scrap 100% -
Prefer wor AG personally.
-
It’s interesting. Let’s you know a bit about how the club view him and an indication of our wage structure.
-
Has there been any reports on his wage?
-
Good fixtures to start I think. Good pick surely. How much is he? 5.5m?
-
I think Tarie is trolling btw

Fair. He’s just been ok to me at Chelsea. Quick, solid technically but he’s not particularly productive. Doesn’t seem to have a killer instinct or regular final ball. Reminds me a little of Sancho, you can tell there’s talent technically, quick but not rapid. Not really a playmaker, not really a creator or a goalscorer. His stats suggest a tidy passer, decent ball carrier but nothing special. Or nothing that’s can be taken dramatically to the next level. If you spend £40m on a winger carefully you can get a special player. Or close. I don’t think Madueke has a ceiling above ‘good’. Could be wrong. Might do a AG. Minteh still looks a raw player to me. But certain aspects of his game and stats makes me think his ceiling is higher. Or at the least a more exciting player.
-
What has Madueke done to be worth £40m? Less productive than the lad I can’t speak about in Holland. Average underlying stats in the PL. Averwge output.
