  1. No he’s reliable. But he’s not committed to much here.
  2. His amortisation and wages will cost the club £18-22m per year. If our FFP position continues to be tight - that’s a massive amount for 1 player. I don’t see the potential upside on the fee. He’s at peak value.
  3. Aye but Botman will likely not get back to 100% until next season. I know Eddie loves England. But I thought he liked his big lads too. Livra Schar Guehi Hall Thats too small for Eddie I feel. I guess Kelly balances things out if he comes in for Hall.
  4. Isak move super quick though. This is much more cautiously worded.
  5. I feel like i'm making a basic and uncontroversial point. Certain positions you favour certain attributes. Pace is one for wingers, aye there's lots of examples of slow wingers (yesteryear at least) but it's still a uncontroversial take as a preference. To your point - I do think height/aerial prowess is less of an issue for CBs these days. More and more are undersized.. but the 3 best teams in the division don't do that nonsense. £80m for Maguire was crackers. Maybe it's worth swerving England CBs. You're making me come across worse than I intend. Because I also don't love a Schar-Guehi partnership. a Guehi - Botman partnership looks much better though,
  6. Don’t mean to sound negative. He adds serious quality to the squad and will improve us.
  7. Lads not Baresi though is he? I like a big strong CB. I like a quick winger. Preference init. For 60m a CB needs a lot of boxes ticked.
  8. As a rule I think we should target the next Guehi, the next Tomori with FFP as an issue. If we have an unlimited spending hack up our sleeves and we only need to focus on improving us today. Yeh great I love it.
  9. Guehi 40m Thiaw 35m I much prefer Guehi. Guehi @ 50m is a different conversation potentially
  10. He’s not available obviously but I think Konsa is a better player and a similar one. Not the right age but Anderson too. He was poor last season apparently but I was impressed with Aguerd in his first season. I don’t pay a lot of attention to other teams CBs in the main - Funnily enough outside of Palace and Real. Might be controversial but I prefer Joe Gomez too. I like my central defenders big, strong and tall. Seeing your CB easily outjumped is so painful. I used to think Schar was weak defensively in the air but he’s a bit of a monster now. So who knows. I would prefer someone not well established in the PL tbh. I’d never heard of Bruno before he joined so there’s lots of quality out there that I don’t know about. I do like Guehi. Talented player. But if he costs £40m+… I feel like our super SD could find us better value for money
  11. For whatever he’ll cost - I think we could do better.
  12. He was better than Stones in the euros tbf. Didn’t think either were convincing. Undoubtedly a good player. Jusg never been sold on him personally.
  13. I’ll be honest- he loses too many headers for me to be a big fan. Talented player. But would prefer someone better in the air.
  14. Agreed. If we buy now I think we are stuck looking low down the target list. You would think Trippier’s wages alone free up £5-7.5m.
  15. Ok. If at some point = at some point during Hall's contract - I fully agree. I think it was clear at a certain point that only severe injuries would give Hall further opportunities to integrate into the playing team last season. If Targett and Livra were fit, Hall would barely have had a kick in the last 6 months of the season. I'm making that assumption because he wasn't getting a kick until Livra went down, Targett was out, Botman was out etc. When players came back, Miley got time off the bench, that's a manager slowly bringing a player through because the manager thinks he's almost ready / can contribute. Hall wasn't getting a sniff. He wasn't being slowly reintroduced into the team, he was bench fodder until the injuries meant he was next up. The injuries did come and Hall took his opportunity. I think it's changed Howe's perception of the lads readiness.
  16. Yeh. The original fee only partially defines whether the selling fee is good. Although I think doubling his fee to £90m would be a decent deal for us. Anything less than £80m is a steal for Liverpool. They won’t have to pay him crazy wages either.
  17. It’s kind of funny that we’ve signed 4 left backs since the takeover. But only 1 CB and 0 RWs for the first team.
  18. £75m for Gordon is low if we have him on a long term deal.
  19. Why is it safe to assume?
  20. Why would he or his agent be wise enough to understand that? Theres bigger wages, more prestige and going home if he moves to Liverpool. If there’s genuine interest there’s no reason for him to be loyal to us beyond what is professional
  21. This is another thing I’d like us to clarify. A 3.5 year deal is crazy. All we heard at the time is ‘long term deal’. 3.5 years isn’t a long term deal. 5-6 years like we have with Isak is a long term deal.
  22. Tbf Hall only got game time due to injuries. Once Lascelles and Livra went done - there were no other options. It’s not like Howe brought him back into the team because he thought Hall was ready. But alls well that ends well.
  23. Fair. Think he’s more mid level PL though but fair given injuries.
